Gaze of the Black Prince returns for the final time before WoD
If you haven't taken advantage of the buff before, or have a little bit of Black Prince reputation left to gain, then starting tomorrow you'll have the final chance before Warlords of Draenor to gain an extra 100% Black Prince reputation. The buff will run from next Tuesday through September 16th at 9am PDT. What's interesting is that the post says "before the Warlords of Draenor" expansion. It might be reading between the lines too much, but one has to wonder if some such buff will appear as a permanent feature of Warlords. That kind of buff would make sense for older content, and follow Blizzard's paradigm of making older content and rewards much more accessible. Blizzard's full post is as follows: Blizzard Entertainment Beginning Tuesday, September 2 at 10:00 a.m. PDT, through Tuesday, September 16 at 9:00 a.m. PDT, we'll be applying the Gaze of the Black Prince buff for the final time before the Warlords of Draenor expansion. This buff will increase the reputation gained with the Black Prince by 100%. It will also increase the chance of obtaining items from his foes needed as a part of the Legendary Cloak quest line including: the Secrets of the Empire, Sigil of Wisdom, Sigil of Power, or Titan Runestones. source
Gaze of the Black Prince returns Thursday
After weeks of Heart of the Valorous, the Gaze of the Black Prince buff will be returning for a two week period. Beginning Thursday, August 14 at 10:00 a.m. PDT and running through Tuesday, August 26 at 9:00 a.m. PDT, Gaze of the Black Prince will increase all reputation gained with Wrathion, the Black Prince, by 100%. The buff will also increase the droprate of all items necessary for the legendary cloak quests. If you're short on Secrets of the Empire, Sigils of Wisdom, Sigils of Power, or Titan Runestones, make sure you get your playtime in.
Gaze of the Black Prince returns
Beginning tomorrow, Tuesday July 15th, at 9:00 am PDT, the Gaze of the Black Prince buff will reappear on live servers. This game-wide buff increases reputation gains with The Black Prince by 100%, and increases your chance to earn Sigils of Wisdom, Sigils of Power, Secrets of the Empire, and Titan Runestones. The buff will last two weeks and end at 9:00 am PDT on July 29th. If you've got a toon working on that legendary cloak questline, you just might be able to push through and finish it up in the next two weeks. Make sure to check out Anne Stickney's guide to getting that fancy orange piece of gear if you're feeling stuck or overwhelmed, there are some great tips there for using your time as efficiently as possible. For those of you aiming to get your legendary cloak--be it your first or fifth--good luck, and may the Gaze of the Black Prince help you out.
Poll: Are you purposefully taking advantage of the Black Prince buff?
As I mentioned on the podcast last week, I'm not a fan of the way that Blizzard is handling these micro-buffs. They seem, to me, like little party favors to get people back in the door, versus serious attempts at making better content or changing the way content is released. That said, my opinions are often just that -- mine alone. I don't pretend to have everyone agreeing with me, so I want to know with this here poll what you all think of the black prince reputation buff. Are you taking advantage of it? Or are you just ignoring it? And by taking advantage of it, I don't just mean letting it happen. I mean actively farming and using the buff to its fullest advantage. Black Prince reputation buff active June 17 through June 30
Blizzard has announced another temporary buff to players. This time we all will get a 100% Black Prince reputation bonus, which will run from Tuesday June 17 at 9am PDT through Monday June 30 at 9am PDT. The buff is being called "The Gaze of the Black Prince." In addition to providing the reputation bonus, the buff will increase the drop rate of: Secrets of the Empire Sigil of Wisdom Sigil of Power Titan Runestones There is no indication how much the drop rate is going to be increased by, nor if this is a one-time-only thing.
