A Kickstarter campaign aiming to reboot Capcom's Ghosts 'n Goblins series, called Ghosts 'n Goblins - Demon World, has been removed from the crowd-funding site due to an intellectual property dispute filed by Capcom. The Kickstarter pledge drive was officially put on hold late last month as indie developer Phantasm Studios tried to secure a developers license, but it would seem the project is outright canceled now. Neither Capcom nor Phantasm has provided an official statement on the future of Ghosts 'n Goblins - Demon World. Phantasm originally aimed to make the game with or without Capcom's blessing when it launched the Kickstarter page back in October, citing a possible name change should Capcom disapprove of using the Ghosts 'n Goblins branding. "If we can't secure a developers license we will change King Arthur and the name of the game, but that is all," the Kickstarter page previously read. "Thankfully werewolves, demons, skeletons, reapers, ghosts, goblins, etc. are all public domain. The modifications will be so minor, the changes will be easy and will not change our release schedule." Phantasm Studios still has all of the info, including concept art, for the proposed game up on its site, though we're sure that won't be the case for long. Ghosts 'n Goblins - Demon World was originally planned for release on the Nintendo eShop, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live in the spring of 2015.
