GoldVish Revolution isn't for the modest, poor
Some luxury phones manage to pull off their lot in life with a sense of understated elegance; on the opposite end of the spectrum, there's this. The GoldVish Revolution looks every bit as gaudy as its predecessors, but throws in a mechanical watch for good measure -- something that's become strangely popular in this market segment lately. All told, you're looking at some 29 carats of diamonds and a whole bunch of 18k gold, but act fast: only 9 are being made, and something tells us there are more than nine weirdos in the world willing to pay the €369,000 (about $485,500) being asked. TAG Heuer to partner with ModeLabs on luxury handset?
It looks like the competition in the luxury phone market is heating up, as folks still trying to choose between Gresso, Vertu, GoldVish, the D&G RAZR, or the ridiculously pricey Black Diamond could see one more alternative in addition to the recently-unveiled LG Prada. According to Sybarites, TAG Heuer -- the folks responsible for Jeff Gordon and Tiger Woods' sumptuous wristwatches -- is teaming up with ModeLabs to introduce "a completely new phone" for deep-pocketed talkers. While details (including a sneak peek) are scant, the phone is "expected to be made of stainless steel and have many similarities to TAG watches," but it seems we'll just have to wait this one out before making any other far-reaching predictions.[Thanks, James]

Have you been saving those pennies since we first brought you GoldVish's "Le Million" in May? If so, it's time to raid that piggy bank: the world's "most exclusive and expensive" phone has gone official along with its bargain-basement sibling, the Illusion, which starts a little north of $20,000. Curiously, we can't seem to track down any shots of either model doing anything but sitting there with the display off, making us wonder about the number engineers working on encrusting the Le Million with 250 carats of diamonds versus the number of engineers actually working on the phone's operating system; then again, for a million bucks, it'd better quad-boot Palm OS, Linux, Windows Mobile, and S60. How much would you pay for "the Bentley of cellphones"? $1,000? $10,000? Try a cool million bucks. This one-of-a-kind quad-band handset by Goldvish sports a blinding 120 carats worth of VVS-1 grade diamonds, according to designer Emmanuel Gueit, and as you'd expect from a seven-figure phone, features such amenities as Bluetooth, a camera with 8x digital zoom, MP3 playback, FM radio, included 2GB memory card and an EDGE connection (though curiously no 3G option or WiFi -- it seems a million bucks isn't what it used to be). For those of you not willing to drop such an obscene amount of money on a phone that even the designer likens to a boomerang, Goldvish also offers several other diamond-encrusted 18k gold models in your choice of rose, yellow, or white, starting at a much more reasonable $25,600.[Thanks, Langer]
