If you're waiting to catch up on Gotham or Arrow, the wait could get even longer. Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes told analysts this week that past seasons of DC Comics television shows could be slow to arrive on Hulu and Netflix. Why? Well, the chief executive said that the company would give preference to cable customers first, making those older seasons available elsewhere several years after they air. In case you didn't know, Time Warner owns DC Comics. Bewkes explained that Time Warner is set on "delivering even more value to consumers, especially those who subscribe to the traditional bundle." Eight DC Comics shows are now on the air, including the recent addition of Supergirl on CBS.

If there's one slight criticism to be made of the free Sky Go service -- which lets Sky subscribers stream live TV and on demand content to computers and mobile devices -- it's that you can't access the full selection of channels found on your set-top box at home. The same can be said of Virgin's equivalent TV Anywhere service, and bit by bit, both providers are strengthening these offerings with additional channels. Today, it's Sky's turn to announce a handful you can now stream through Sky Go for the first time, including Channel 5, which is home to the new Batman-inspired Gotham series, and its sister channels 5* and 5USA. British Eurosport 2 is also now available on Sky Go, alongside the freshly launched channel ITVBe -- also known as the place braincells go to die.

Welcome to the fall premiere season. We're welcoming back familiar shows like Key & Peele, Person of Interest, The Simpsons and The Big Bang Theory, as well as some of last year's holdovers like Sleepy Hollow, Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Brooklyn Nine-nine and The Blacklist. So what about this year's newcomers? First up tonight is Gotham, an interesting Batman prequel, along with CBS' first attempt at a hacker drama/action show called Scorpion (CSI: Cyber starring Luke Perry and Bow-Wow aka Shad Moss will debut in midseason). ABC will tie the new comedy Black-ish to its long-running hit show Modern Family, and on Amazon we'll get the next block of episodes for its new show Transparent. The How I Met Your Mother complete series boxed set arrives on Blu-ray, along with a 25th anniversary edition of Ghost in the Shell, and FIFA 15 on almost all videogame consoles. Oh - and on Saturday Night Live you can expect Star-Lord himself Chris Pratt. Hit the gallery or just look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

The next time you visit Twitter.com things may look a little different, now that the site is rolling out a new font. After years of using Helvetica Neue, it's switching to the Gotham typeface. Already, design and typography fans are expressing dismay at the switch, although if you're still reading Tweets mostly through apps, it could be a while before you notice any difference at all. • XBMC looks to improve Android video playback with 'Gotham' beta

Version 13 of XBMC's media center software, codenamed Gotham, is now ready for your official beta-testing pleasure. The foundation -- which started the project for the Xbox and spawned apps like Plex and platforms like Boxee -- kicked off work on the update nearly a year ago. It said that many of the qualms from version 12 (Frodo) users have been addressed. Most notably, it now supports native hardware decoding on Android for x86 and ARM platforms, which should bring smoother playback for formats like Blu-ray. Other improvements include support for more 3D formats (with the notable exception of 3D Blu-ray), better touchscreen support, enhanced UPnP capability, "dramatic" audio engine improvements and easier setup. Though nightly versions have been available for a while, the company provided the usual caveats about beta software and the importance of backing up. If you're unperturbed by that, hit the source.

Just because XBMC 12 Frodo has been officially released we wouldn't expect the team behind the media PC software to take too long of a break. In fact, in a blog post it's announced plans to return to a monthly development cycle, as well as a code name for version 13 of the software: Gotham. While we wait for the next official release to arrive, the February build features improvements to UPnP with a "Play Using..." push server feature that should be familiar if you've used Play To on Windows for example. also new are Android fixes that let it rotate in any direction, and control the device's native audio. there are other changes as well, which can be reviewed beyond the source link, along with test versions for your preferred platform.

Remember that scene in 2008's The Dark Knight where those nerdling Batman-wannabes were running around in imitation capes and cowls shooting at criminals with shotguns? That's pretty much what you get when you log into Gotham City Impostors, Monolith's garish, goofy first-person shooter set against the sprawling backdrop of DC Comics' legendary mythos. And for all you MMO historians in the crowd, yes, that's the same Monolith that originally developed the late, great Matrix Online. %Gallery-174397%

Not every character in DC Universe Online is granted metahuman powers or magical abilities. Thankfully, for those who started out as average joes that simply want to do good (or evil), there's the technology powerset, which offers a plethora of control options. Currently, there are two technology mentors in DC Universe Online that can help put players' feet on the right path: Batman and The Joker. While we've seen Batman and The Joker revealed long before the game launched, this newest video from SOE features Creative Director Jens Andersen giving us a bit more information about the two origin storylines that players have a chance to experience if they pick one of these two iconic characters as a mentor. So, if you've ever wondered what it might be like to right wrongs or create chaos on the darkened streets of Gotham, check out the shiny new DC Universe Online tech mentor video behind the break.

  • Slumming in DCUO is part of the adventure

Metropolis, one of the key cities in DC Universe Online, has a reputation for being the shiny, bright antithesis of Gotham City's dark and dungy environment. However, don't let preconceptions fool you -- Metropolis has its seedier side, especially with the cheerfully-named "Suicide Slums." In a video posted over at Shacknews, DCUO Game Director Chris Cao takes us on a brief tour through the Suicide Slums, pointing out how this isn't a place you'd want to casually visit. It's an "iffy-dodgy place" according to Cao, home to both criminal and superhero elements that revel in urban decay. Think downtown Detroit on a good day, perhaps, or the industrial quarters of SimCity. The slums are also home to the Steelworks, where John Henry Irons, aka Steel (famously played by Shaq in the motion picture), wages a daily battle to clean up the neighborhood. Travelers to Suicide Slums can check out another Metropolis landmark, the famous Ace-O-Clubs bar run by Bibbo Bibbowski. For the full travelogue, head over to Shacknews and get a gritty eyeful.
