In its latest newswire update, Rockstar Games highlights a handful of GTA Online jobs that revisit pivotal moments from past Grand Theft Auto entries courtesy of creative fans and the game's powerful Creator tool. From the classic Grand Theft Auto 3 to the underloved GTA: Chinatown Wars, Rockstar's selection covers a wide swath of open-world sandbox mayhem. "Four Iron," for instance, is a modern, deathmatch take on the Grand Theft Auto: Vice City mission of the same name, in which Tommy Vercetti chased a land developer through a golf course before murdering the poor sap. "Valet Parking," on the other hand, is a lap race homage to those recurring side missions in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas in which CJ would pose as a valet, and either politely park cars to earn extra cash or drive off with a fancy new ride. The Rockstar newswire has a full list of throwback missions, for both the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but keep in mind that the limitations of the GTA Online Creator prevent any of these jobs from being singleplayer affairs. The only way to truly relive Rockstar's classics is by replaying the original games. [Image: Take Two]

Rockstar has released the soundtracks for its most recent Grand Theft Auto games onto Spotify and iTunes. Sadly, just the tunes from Grand Theft Auto 3 and every entry since are here – none of Rockstar's zany commercials or satirical talk radio stations. The only place to get the full soundtracks still is through Rockstar's box set releases; however, if you want to just listen to the ads, you can point your browser to The Advertising Council.Rockstar recently revealed the box art for Grand Theft Auto 5, due on September 17 for Xbox 360 and PS3. Even though over 100,000 have signed a petition calling for a PC port, Take-Two has not announced Grand Theft Auto 5 for the PC at this time.

And now, two games united only by the details of their release, and nothing else. Next week, on January 29, Platinum Games' hair witch project Bayonetta, and the PS2 Classic Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, will be available on PlayStation Network for PS3, for $20 and $10 respectively. Both games will be available the next day in Europe. One important caveat: the PS3 version of Bayonetta is not the ideal version. A patch fixed loading time issues, but users continue to report framerate and texture loading issues in Sega's PS3 port.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is now available for iOS devices via the App Store, which is completely insane when you stop to think about it. When this game was new ten years ago, it took an entire game console to get to play it, and now your damn telephone just happens to be powerful enough to also run this game as a bonus. The $4.99 Universal App has been updated from the PS2 original and now features Retina-optimized HD graphics and the ability to listen to the music in your iTunes library as a radio station, which is actually pretty sweet. I mean, you're still playing a PlayStation 2 game with on-screen touch controls, but at least you can listen to Ke$ha while you do it.

Rockstar has decided to pull the PC version of Grand Theft Auto: Vice City from digital distributors for an undisclosed period while it deals with some licensing-related complications."Due to some music licensing issues, we've had to temporarily remove Vice City PC from digital stores. We'll make it available again as soon as possible," a statement to Game Informer reads. Rockstar hasn't specifically called out which song(s) are at the heart of this dispute, but tells Game Informer this current licensing issue won't affect the upcoming mobile port.Cinema Blend suggests it's Michael Jackson's "Wanna Be Startin' Something" that's the problem, which Sony Music Entertainment owns. If you've already purchased Vice City through Steam or your other favorite digital distributor, you should run into no problems installing and playing the game – unless you do, in which case you'll want to call your cousin Carl. He's real good with them computers.

Grand Theft Auto: Vice City is marking its 10th anniversary by riding onto iOS and Android this fall, following in the tire tracks of GTA 3. Rockstar also announced that, to celebrate the 2002 game's landmark, the new versions will include unseen assets and artwork. Rockstar didn't reveal a price or release date, but for reference GTA 3 went on sale at $4.99 on both platforms.Vice City hitting iOS and Android may well mark the coming of the final entry in GTA's PlayStation 2 triad. Not only is it logical, but around this time last year Rockstar said upcoming iOS ports of both Vice City and San Andreas were "very possible." The first has come to pass, so don't be surprised if you're visiting Los Santos on your iPad in a year's time.Update: As part of the 10th anniversary celebrations, GTA 3 is now on sale on iOS and Android, and Chinatown Wars on iOS. Each version's going for 99 cents for a limited time.

The most stylish entry in the Grand Theft Auto series, Vice City, is on sale today through Steam. The fast boats, quick carjackings and speedball simulator is 75 percent off, making the game a mere $2.49.To think, back in the '80s, one could get two gallons of gas for that price.

Sure, lots of folks have fond memories of beating hookers to death and zipping around in a Banshee in GTA 3, GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas. But the real star of those games were the commercials, hilarious ads that you can now relive thanks to Rockstar.Like, who can forget the private sensual secret radio advertisement for the thriller Twilight Knife? Having trouble letting go of that deceased pet? Well, you don't have to thanks to Pet Stuffers! And if you're having problems dealing with the day-to-day grind, retreat into the blood-filled playground of Commemorative Miniatures.

  • Grand Theft Auto 3 and GTA: Vice City rated by ESRB for PS3

The ESRB has rated crime epics Grand Theft Auto 3 and Vice City for the PlayStation 3. Considering the blockbuster third entry in the series is available on iOS and Android, word of it coming to the PS3 isn't the craziest news we've heard about the classic title in recent memory. The third entry in the GTA3 series, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, still doesn't have a PS3 listing from the ESRB, so we aren't sure if it's just cruisin' in later for a drive-by or part of what's likely Rockstar adding the two other games to PSN for digital distribution. Of course, if you own a first-gen PS3, your system is backwards-compatible and should have no issue playing the original PlayStation 2 discs (chances are you already own them).

If you prefer the vibrant, jewel-toned streets of Vice City or the gritty, decidedly not-jewel-toned avenues of San Andreas to the trappings of Old Liberty City, you might have your fancy tickled by Rockstar soon enough. The developer, which recently showed off its iOS port of Grand Theft Auto 3, recently told Digital Trends that, though it might be a "technical challenge," similarly mobile versions of GTA: Vice City and GTA: San Andreas are "very possible." That's the kind of can-do attitude that made Rockstar the top-flight development studio it is today. Well, that and the secret deal that Dan Houser made with the devil back in 1999. Oh, right, breaking news: Dan Houser made a deal with the devil back in 1999. We forgot that wasn't common knowledge!

The pack contains top-down classics Grand Theft Auto and Grand Theft Auto 2, along with sandbox giant Grand Theft Auto 3 and its follow-ups, Vice City and San Andreas. In a recent Q&A session on Rockstar's Facebook page, the developer responded to a query about Mac support with terrific news for fans of the company's last-gen titles. The Q&A promises that a proper announcement will arrive soon. Until then, we suggest you start planning your crime spree as soon as possible!

  • Pre-order GTA IV on Steam, get Vice City free

Though Grand Theft Auto IV received universal accolades when it launched earlier this year, we've always been bigger fans of the neon backdrop of 2002's GTA: Vice City. Perhaps it's because it represents a more appealing chapter in our nation's history -- a chapter rife with REO Speedwagon, preposterous hairstyles, and all-night disco coke parties.Admittedly, it's been quite some time since we visited Rockstar's tropical getaway -- that's why we were excited to hear that Steam is giving Vice City for free to pre-purchasers of the PC version of GTA IV. That's a savings of ten whole dollars, which is almost the exact price of Take it on the Run, REO Speedwagon's greatest hits album. Coincidence? We think not.
