IT ... IS ... TIME! Nearly two thousand of you voted in our Grand Theft Azeroth competition, and the results are in. Nyxilyn of <Departed> on Norgannon is the clear-cut winner, receiving just shy of half the votes. Runner-up goes to Sorro of <Panda Attack> on Dark Iron, who left his blood elf orphan at the mercy of Archimonde and got slightly less than a quarter of all votes. As you may recall, Nyxilyn chose to emulate the Grand Theft Auto Series by getting a group to kite the Pit Commander to Shattrath. This resulted in much lag, many deaths, and a warning from a GM before the combined forces of the sanctuary city's NPCs brought it down. Congratulations, Nyxilyn, and wear your title of <Grand Theft Azeroth Champion> with pride! Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! Sharing your screenshot is as simple as e-mailing aroundazeroth@wow.com with a copy of your shot and a brief explanation of the scene. You could be featured here next! Remember to include your player name, server and/or guild if you want it mentioned. We prefer full screen shots without the UI showing. And please, no more sunsets or win trading. Grats to all who participated in Grand Theft Azeroth, and we'll see you at the next competition!%Gallery-1816%

First of all, I'd like to thank you all for your submissions to Grand Theft Azeroth. There were a lot of wonderful pictures, and I had trouble choosing the top five to put up for a vote here. We extended the contest a day because ... well, because I forgot what day the contest was supposed to end. Nevertheless, voting will take place Fri-Sun and a winner will be announced Monday. Now let's get to the five nominees, each with their own special category:

Supremus has acquired a new target! Unlike our last victim of the Black Temple, Spellweave, of Kul Tiras-EU, is not standing around waiting to get smushed. But how fast can those little gnome legs take her from that giant abyssal? Especially wearing a pink tabard? That clashes ridiculously with the headpiece and shoulders? The effect is that of a stick of cotton candy dipped in rat skulls. You have only two hours left to participate in AA's latest user submission challenge: Grand Theft Azeroth! Send us pics of you (or your friends, we're not picky) committing your most nefarious deeds in the style of the GTA series. Mount-jackings, thefts, murders, muggings, cruelty to animals and critters, picking up blood elf ladies of the night, punting gnomes -- let your wicked side out. Send your screenshots to aroundazeroth@wow.com by noon EST on TODAY, Thursday, May 8, and please use the phrase "GTA" somewhere in your e-mail title. And please, no more sunsets or gnomes in pink pigtails.

From a distance there is harmony, and it echoes through the land. It's the voice of hope, it's the voice of peace, it's the voice of every man. From a distance we all have enough and no one is in need, and there are no guns, no bombs, no rifles, no arrows, no poisoned daggers, no giant demonic pets with swords, no fire nova totems that act suspiciously like IEDs, no dudes with bubbles in purple armor, and no blood elf hunter meleeing warriors and yelling "I AM THE GREETEST." This shot of a peaceful Halaa is brought to you by Sara, of unknown character and server. You have only one day left to participate in AA's latest user submission challenge: Grand Theft Azeroth! Send your screenshots to aroundazeroth@wow.com by noon EST on TOMORROW, Thursday, May 8, and please use the phrase "GTA" somewhere in your e-mail title. • Around Azeroth: The shame of Thunder Bluff

When Gaelan said he wanted to be decked out in purples, this was not exactly what he had in mind. Yes, it's the Embrace of the Fang set, beloved by (attractive female) twinks everywhere. Ignoring the requests of his guildmates to put on a tabard for God's sake, Gaelan instead chose to put on his boogie shoes inside a tauren tent. He was promptly drop-kicked off of Thunder Bluff by Cairne himself. Cairne usually reserves that move for the Alliance, but this was an extra-special case. If you missed it the other day, Around Azeroth is running another user submission challenge: Grand Theft Azeroth! Send us pics of you (or your friends, we're not picky) committing your most nefarious deeds in the style of the GTA series. When you're an adventurer, you have to take sleep whenever you can get it, particularly since our characters appear to be homeless nomadic murderers. Swampy of Moonrunner decided to catch some Zs in a rocky shelter near Tempest Keep. His pal, Sleepy Willy, also felt the call of the sandman and joined his nap. Too bad that Swampy's hunter pet can't sleep; Swampy had to put him away, lest he grow bored and eat the both of them. If you missed it the other day, Around Azeroth is running another user submission challenge: Grand Theft Azeroth! Send us pics of you (or your friends, we're not picky) committing your most nefarious deeds in the style of the GTA series. Mount-jackings, thefts, murders, muggings, cruelty to animals and critters, picking up blood elf ladies of the night -- let your darkest side out. Send your screenshots to aroundazeroth@wow.com by noon EST on Thursday, May 8, and please use the phrase "GTA" somewhere in your e-mail title. This anonymous .... night elf? .... warrior? ... decided to end it all by one of the most dramatic methods known to man -- jumping off a dam. Unfortunately, his positioning and poor choice of dam made it look like he was merely part of an enormous dwarf booger. Also, the effect of death is somewhat lost when your only lasting damage is 10% durability. Better luck next rez, anonymous! If you missed it the other day, Around Azeroth is running another user submission challenge: Grand Theft Azeroth! Send us pics of you (or your friends, we're not picky) committing your most nefarious deeds in the style of the GTA series. Mount-jackings, thefts, murders, muggings, cruelty to animals -- go wild! So far, we've only got a few entries, and I'm getting concerned that you're all a bunch of do-gooders. Send your screenshots to aroundazeroth@wow.com by noon EST on Thursday, May 8, and please use the phrase "GTA" somewhere in your e-mail title. • Around Azeroth: The sacrificial bear

We usually stay away from sunsets, as stated in every single post, but this one couldn't be passed up. In defiance of all fantasy conventions, it looks like it's the druid that's about to be sacrificed to the sun gods on this Mayan temple. Of course, there's no sacrificing going on here just yet -- Lutra of Vek'nilash is simply posing for a screenshot before tanking a nighttime Temple of Atal'Hakkar run. But he might have been sacrificed later with the old "jump down the hole and see what's below" trick (second only to "If you look through the crack in the wall, you can see Ragnaros!") If you missed it yesterday, Around Azeroth is running another user submission challenge: Grand Theft Azeroth! Send us pics of you (or your friends, we're not picky) committing your most nefarious deeds in the style of the GTA series. Mount-jackings, thefts, murders, muggings, cruelty to animals -- go wild! So far, we've only got a handful of entries, most of which seem to involve orphan abuse. Send your screenshots to aroundazeroth@gmail.com by noon EST on Thursday, May 8, and please use the phrase "GTA" somewhere in your e-mail title. Do you have any unusual World of Warcraft images that are just collecting dust in your screenshots folder? We'd love to see it on Around Azeroth! • Around Azeroth: The bloodening (plus a contest!)

Don't kids grow up so fast these days? Especially when you feed them one of Papa Hummel's Old Fashioned Pet Biscuits. Shikozu of <Fallen Ghosts> on Altar of Storms snapped this photo of her blood elf orphan right before Child Protective Services took her in for questioning. Now onto the contest. As you may have heard, the latest entry in a popular series of video games came out this week, and there was much rejoicing. Except from me. Because while I love these games, I am terrible at them, and end up giving up after about five missions and seeing how many times I can drive cars over pedestrians or attack shopkeepers with katanas before the cops catch me. If only there was a way to have the mayhem of GTA with the simplicity of WoW ... ... which leads into a new screenshot idea: Grand Theft Azeroth! Glitchstravaganza was such a success, I decided to try another user-submission gambit. But this time, I'd like to see you doing evil things in the fashion of the GTA series. Jacking mounts. "Mugging" guildmates. Slaughtering innocent critters. Crashing zeppelins. Running your orphan through hot lava. Whatever your evil heart desires. Send your Grand Theft Azeroth screenshots, with a one-paragraph-or-less explanation, to aroundazeroth@gmail.com by noon ET on Wednesday, May 7. The five best entries will go up for a vote on Thursday, with the winner to be announced the following Monday. The winner will be held up for universal acclaim and will receive a spot of honor in the AA gallery. Remember to include your name, guild and server if you want them included. We prefer full screenshots without the UI. And please, no more sunsets ... unless they're over a bloody corpse! Muahahaha!%Gallery-1816%
