So I hit level 40 about three weeks ago and, in between bouts of boredom brought on by the grindiness that seems to increase exponentially with each level after 35, I thought it best to take a column and determine what to do next. With luck, a few of you learned readers might even have a suggestion for staving off my particular case of the Atreia blues. In the interests of full disclosure, there are still many things I absolutely adore about Aion, but the mid to high level grind is beginning to take its toll on my Sorcerer's will to progress. Higher level acquaintances have assured me that upon dinging 50, even more grind awaits in the form of gear sets and all manner of desirables walled off by that crazy Eastern-style treadmill. At the risk of stating the obvious, these were not the words of encouragement that I needed to hear in order to soldier on toward the finish line. Help a Daeva out after the jump.

The Grinder is the first of the two new Wii projects from High Voltage that were revealed just prior to E3, and we got to check it out at the company's booth. It's a game that takes the cheesy grindhouse pictures of old and converts them into an FPS experience. The result is a game full of frenetic monsters and tension.

Some found it juvenile and immature, but Slackerz writer Scott Smith (who created the comic along with artist Scott Hepting) explained that his winning comic was inspired by actual events and that, yes, scribbling your 'a,' 'r,' and 't' can lead to some naughty results in Brain Age. Despite the objection by some, Smith's comic was overwhelmingly voted webcomic of the week.Second place went to Dueling Analogs and third place was claimed by Rooster Teeth in their first ever appearance on the wrapup. Thanks to everyone who voted, and be sure to let us know of any game-related webcomics you stumble upon this week![Update: credit given to Hepting for drawing Slackerz comic.]

Grindhouse star and all-around hot chick Rose McGowan told VH1 Game Break that she obsessively kicked zombie ass in Sega's House of the Dead II ... until her attention-starved dog sabotaged her Dreamcast with a strategic blast of pee. Hold up, nerds -- don't hightail it to Ms. McGowan's place with a bottle of wine and a light gun just yet. She's dating her director, Robert Rodriguez. Play it cool. Give them some time. And when their Hollywood romance fizzles out, be there for the rebound with a copy of Umbrella Chronicles and one of these.
