Not everything in our holiday gift guide is a gadget, per se. We know that media, including physical media, make good gifts, so made sure to include a few DVDs, plus some manga and a vinyl record, to boot. Depending on your loved one's taste, you'll want to buy them Blade Runner: The Final Cut in 4K, Spider-Man: Homecoming (also in 4K) or Planet Earth II -- another great way to make the most out of a UHD TV. For the binge-watcher in your life, you might consider scooping up the soundtrack to Netflix's Stranger Things, available in several volumes. And, for that person in your life who loves graphic novels, we recommend the hardcover version of Ghost in the Shell, volumes 1, 2 and 3.

When director James Gunn revealed that Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 would be the first movie shot with Red's 8K Weapon camera, he triggered a bit of speculation: what prompted the move beyond the incredibly high resolution? You might have a better answer today. Red has posted a behind-the-scenes look at the movie that, to no one's surprise, talks a lot about why the Vol. 2 team shot with such relatively exotic gear. And no, it's not just about that picture quality.

Junk food and summer blockbusters go hand in hand -- from the nachos, popcorn and candy you buy at the cinema, to action-hero faces plastered on every brand of potato chips at the supermarket. This has been the way of the world as long as I can remember, but this summer, the pairing may have reached its apex. In a perfect storm of brand synergy, nostalgia and guilty pleasures, Marvel has decided to release the soundtrack to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 in the most unconventional format imaginable: a bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos.

The first episode of Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, Tangled Up in Blue, arrives tomorrow, and you can get a sneak peek at all the action and space snark in the official launch trailer. The series is a brand-new Guardians story not connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Each year that Geoff Keighley's Game Awards distances itself from its SpikeTV past, it gets subsequently less embarrassing to watch. And without a doubt, The Game Awards 2016 was the best show yet. Couldn't watch the stream? Well, that's too bad, but we've got you covered. Below you'll find a list of the night's big winners in addition to all the trailers that made their world premieres onstage at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. There were a few emotional moments onstage as well, including Ryan Green accepting the Games for Impact award for That Dragon, Cancer; Keighley presenting his friend Hideo Kojima with a statue for Industry Icon and Nolan North throwing striking voice actors under the bus during his acceptance speech for best performance.

Telltale Games is taking its episodic style out into the galaxy. The Guardians of the Galaxy, that is. Details are scant at the moment, but in a statement, the developer's Kevin Bruner says that, "In Marvel's Guardian's of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series, players will take on multiple roles within the ragtag band of heroes, and take the pilot's seat in directing their escapades around the universe." So there's that. Want more? Like the studio's take on Batman, Guardians will be available at retail in physical form. Meaning, the first episode will be on the disc in 2017 and the subsequent four will be title updates. The future!

Vinyl's recent resurgence shows no sign of slowing down. In the UK, Tesco has decided to back the format by stocking 20 records in 40 of its supermarkets. These include Coldplay's new album A Head Full Of Dreams, the soundtrack from Guardians of the Galaxy and classic releases such as Nirvana's Nevermind and The Beatles' Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band. It follows a smaller trial earlier this year when Tesco stocked Iron Maiden's The Book Of Souls in 55 of its biggest Tesco Extra stores.

After racking up $771 million at the box office, Guardians of the Galaxy is coming home. It's a little different from Marvel's other superhero collaborations with Disney, but no less satisfying. This is also the week that Sons of Anarchy comes to its conclusion, and for the last time series creator Kurt Sutter explains to us why he thinks the show he wrote is so great. The third highlight is Netflix's Marco Polo, which was formerly intended for Starz but is now coming direct to streaming. With a budget said to surpass any other show outside of Game of Thrones, we'll see if all that money leads to another hit for the service -- if you'd like a reminder when it goes live just check the embedded tweet after the break. That's not all Netflix is planning though, as Parks & Recreation's Nick Offerman will debut a new stand-up comedy special this week. Football fans can enjoy the brief break in college games by tuning in for Miami's second run as a 30 for 30 subject on Saturday night, gamers will dig into Bungie's The Dark Below expansion for Destiny, and movie fans can enjoy a Criterion Collection edition of Time Bandits. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

  • Marvel is releasing an adorable dancing baby Groot toy this December

The Guardians of the Galaxy market on Etsy is about to suffer a devastating blow. Why? Well, because Marvel has answered the pleas of fans and announced that it's releasing an officially-licensed dancing baby Groot toy to "all major retailers." Best of all, Disney, Marvel's owner, have told Mashable that the embodiment of arguably Vin Diesel's best performance will only set you back $15. The adorable, rhythmic twig will apparently shimmy to either your own music or a rendition (video after the break) of The Jackson 5's "I Want You Back," and hit shelves in time for your December gift-giving occasion of choice. Considering that other plastic versions of the charming tree-being are rather limited and can run well over $300, you could buy a handful of these and make multiple geeks in your life happy this winter.
