The staff of The Unofficial Apple Weblog would like to extend its best wishes for a happy holiday season to our readers, their families, and their friends. We'll be running a light schedule for Christmas Day as our team spends its holiday in various ways, but you can expect to see us back up to full speed on Thursday. If your gift wish list includes a new Apple toy, we'll have hints and tips for you on how to keep your device running smoothly throughout the year. Our reviews of apps and accessories will keep your iOS device or Mac happy, and TUAW's tips and instructional posts are sure to give you the ability to get your money's worth out of your investment. Shawn "Doc Rock" Boyd will be running a Google Hangout on Christmas Day to answer any questions you may have about your new Apple toy, so be sure to keep and eye out for his post and join Doc for what's sure to be a fun day. Regardless of how you recognize the holidays, we wish you peace, happiness, and prosperity now and in the new year.

Trion Worlds has released a new video in order to wish its fans happy holidays from RIFT's land of Telara. The new Fae Yule-themed video shows Telara on holiday, with people standing in line for presents, riding some rather derpy reindeer across a snowy landscape, and of course, beating the ever-loving daylights out of a gargantuan treant wrapped in lights. To get your dose of Telaran holiday cheer, just click on past the cut for the full video.

This week, the European Wii and DS Shops' halls are decked, with one festive, holiday-themed game each! Happy Holidays: Christmas on WiiWare is, like the Halloween WiiWare release, a program that lets you put together and send e-cards. Yep. Just Sing! Christmas Songs on DSiWare is pretty much what it sounds like: a karaoke game in which you just sing Christmas songs. Two of them. Just watch the trailer (via GoNintendo) after the break. Oh, also, Earthworm Jim 2 on Virtual Console. Neat! Earthworm Jim 2 (Mega Drive, 1 player, 800 Wii Points) Mahjong (WiiWare, 500 Wii Points) Happy Holidays: Christmas (WiiWare, 1 player, 500 Wii Points) Foto Face: The Face Stealer Strikes (DSiWare, 1 player, 800 DSi Points) A Little Bit of ... Magic Made Fun: Matchmaker (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) Just Sing! Christmas Songs (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) myNotebook: Red (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points)

We knew about this week's marquee European WiiWare release yesterday, and, happily, LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias has actually arrived on the Wii Shop. For just 1,000 Wii Points, you can begin causing irrevocable damage to the ecosystem of another landscape by haphazardly altering the weather. Fun! For season-themed entertainment, we'll definitely take that over Happy Holidays: Halloween, an app that lets you make Halloween e-cards and send them to your friends' Wiis. We're not going to think too much about that one, much like publisher 505 Games. The Virtual Console has an inferior, but more Haggar-centric, Final Fight sequel, along with Wonder Boy III, which is good but not as good as the other version of the same game already there (Dragon's Curse). And on DSiWare, Photo Clock and ... oh, hey, Dragon Quest Wars! LostWinds: Winter of the Melodias (WiiWare, 1 player, 1,000 Wii Points) Happy Holidays: Halloween (WiiWare, 1 player, 500 Wii Points) Final Fight 2 (Virtual Console, 1-2 players, 800 Wii Points) Wonder Boy III: The Dragon's Trap (Virtual Console, 1 player, 500 Wii Points) Photo Clock (DSiWare, 1 player, 200 DSi Points) Dragon Quest Wars (DSiWare, 1-4 players, 500 DSi Points) %Gallery-71588%

Hey X3F Nation, we here at Xbox 360 Fanboy would like to wish you and yours a happy and safe holiday season. Take a load off, kick back and game on. We hope all your holiday wishes come true and are already thinking about a good New Year's resolution. Our suggestion is to dial down all the hate toward your non-Xbox console owning bretheren. We only suggest this because, according to a stat we made up for the sake of this joke, 88% of all resolutions die out within the first two weeks of the new year. Peace out, kids!

Winter Veil is here. The cities are decorated, snowballs are flying, and everyone will be waking up early in a few days to see what Great Father Winter has left under the Christmas tree. We recognize the holidays as a time to share with family and friends. Outside of services, parties, and shopping you're probably still spending a considerable amount of time with your cohorts online. I'd like to know if anyone is planning on sending gifts to their guildies and other WoW buddies. It's unnecessary but still thoughtful to recognize these folks we spend so much time with. I think it might be fun, but I'm not sure what to get.

According to Andy Williams, it's the most wonderful time of the year. Well Andy, you probably didn't have to deal with insane parking lot situations at shopping malls, stampeding consumers looking for for a deal and GameStop employees asking us if we want to pre-order that copy of Bratz Ponyz for the Nintendo DS we were looking for. Why would we order that? Clearly it's a gift idea and not a Game of the Year candidate we need to investigate, you up selling drone!* Whoa. Sorry. We get a little hot under the collar shopping for presents. Anyway, Harmonix has announced a special holiday song pack for Rock Band. Releasing on December 23, 2008, are three songs to get you in the spirit of the season and shy away from the bitterness we unfortunately displayed earlier in this post. Barenaked Ladies - "Hanukkah Blessings" Billy Squier - "Christmas is the Time To Say I Love You" The Pretenders - "Blue Christmas" Each track is priced to own at 80MS points a piece or 240MS points for the entire three-song pack. Looking for some holiday tunes, Rock Band has you covered. Videos for each song can be found after the break. *Note: We're just kidding GameStop employees. You know we love you! We know you're just doing your job so you don't get fired. This is what we call, "humor with dramatic effect." Also, we love you Andy Williams and Bratz Ponyz is not a game of the year contender, it was released in 2007.
