I'm conflicted on this video. On one hand, it references the Harlem Shake, which is a meme that's pretty much run its course. I feel like we've been down that road. On the other hand, Not Your Ordinary Kind of Harlem Shake is more a machinima about the after-effects of the video. The shaking itself only takes up a minute portion of the video. Romire is getting further with his scripting and action. Not Your Ordinary Kind of Harlem Shake features much more narrative cohesion than any of his previous videos; he clearly had an idea from beginning to end. On the other hand, I still feel like the plot could have moved faster and tied up more quickly. All in all, it's a solid effort worth a few minutes of your time. The Harlem Shake YouTube dance meme, if you ask me, ended about three weeks ago -- which I think was right around when it started. But that hasn't stopped the developers at Velos Mobile from creating an open-source Objective-C class for iOS projects that will take all of an app's standard UIViews, and shake them up, Harlem-style. Even if you're not a developer, you can see the effects of the code below. As old and tired as these meme is, it's still pretty funny to see the standard iOS controls get down to the dubstep. As Velos Mobile says, "Please don't ship this." Developers can add it in their own code, and we may even see some apps make videos with it, but it's a pretty much just a silly hack rather than an actual feature. Still, it's good for a laugh or two on this Friday afternoon.

The official title of this video is "Oh Great, Yet Another WoW Harlem Shake Video :(" And while I've sworn of the meme forever, this one was created by the legendary Baron Soosdon. How can I possibly pass that up? If ever there were a heroic figure of machinima, it would be Soosdon. So let's kick back for yet another Harlem Shake video. You won't be disappointed. • The Harlem Shake reaches Azeroth

The Harlem Shake has taken our world by storm, and now the eccentric dance is working its way through Azeroth, too. What is the Harlem Shake, you ask? It began as a dance track from American producer Baauer that ended up going viral earlier this year. The memetic format of Harlem Shake videos is described by Wikipedia as follows: Normally, each video begins with one person (often masked) dancing to the song alone for 15 seconds, surrounded by other people unaware of the dancing individual. When the bass drops, the camera transitions to the entire crowd doing the dance for the next 15 seconds, often wearing a minimum of clothes or crazy outfits or costumes while wielding strange props. In this particular iteration of the Harlem Shake from machinimator SlightlyImpressive, Lady Jaina Proudmoore seems to embody the video's spirit best -- cool and reserved one moment, flailing her arms wildly in a fervor of dance the next. What that says about the human female dance animations in World of Warcraft ... I really don't know. The throne room being relatively empty causes the Harlem Shake to lose some of its punch in this video, but I imagine it isn't easy to animate a room-filling rave.
