A new, short batch of hotfixes for patch 5.4.2 were released and posted to the official blog yesterday. As far as hotfixes go, these are pretty minimal -- just addressing a couple bugs in the Siege of Orgrimmar, and one fix that should be nice news to those headed back to Icecrown Citadel for fun. Rygarius February 4 Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios Siege of Orgrimmar Galakras Resolved an issue where players that perform a soft-reset on the raid instance after defeating Galakras would incorrectly zone into the raid at Norushen. Kor'kron Dark Shaman Resolved an issue where Earthbreaker Haromm and Wavebinder Kardris could potentially path underneath the world. Icecrown Citadel: Fixed an issue where defeating The Lich King too quickly could prevent players from receiving loot. source

Rygarius Creatures Resolved an issue that could cause Ordos to be stuck in evade. For targets that Ordos cannot reach, he will now summon them to him. A new set of hotfixes for patch 5.4.2 has just been released and posted to the official blog. 01.24.2014

Another set of hotfixes has been posted to the official forums following the most recent ones on January 21. These focus on several tuning changes to General Nazgrim, and I'm sure many raiders will be happy to note that the Dark Shaman have had their recent decorating decisions overruled by Garrosh! Lunar Festival Elune's Blessing no longer increases Stamina and no longer stacks with similar player-cast buffs. Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios Siege of Orgrimmar Kor'kron Dark Shaman Removed Lunar Festival decorations from the Valley of Strength. Garrosh has decided that his Horde has no need for such things. General Nazgrim General Nazgrim's Kor'kron Banner now has less health on Raid Finder difficulty. General Nazgrim's Ravager no longer generates Rage when it strikes a player and deals 50% less damage on Raid Finder difficulty. Kor'kron Warshaman's Healing Tide Totem now heals for 1% (down from 2%) on Raid Finder difficulty. Kor'kron Warshaman's Empowered Chain Heal now heals for 1% (down from 4%) on Raid Finder difficulty. Items [Requires a realm restart.] Anglers Fishing Raft and Bipsi's Bobbing Berg can no longer be used at the same time. Bipsi's Bobbing Berg should now also allow players to increase their speed just like an Anglers Fishing Raft. source

A new round of hotfixes for patch 5.4.2 have been released and posted to the official blog. This round includes a fix for a quest that was working incorrectly and several corrections to class abilities. In addition, the raid changes that were announced last week have now officially made the hotfix list. The quest The Trident of Naz'jan should now see Ragnar Drakkarlund respawning correctly. Restoration druids, you should no longer be incorrectly getting a haste effect from Soul of the Forest from failed attempts to cast Swiftmend on targets that are under a Cenarion Ward's healing effect. Several class abilities were incorrectly calculating damage when used against targets with a greater than 75% reduction to damage from armor -- this has been fixed. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

Two new hotfixes for patch 5.4.2 were released and posted to the official blog yesterday. While both are relatively minor changes, hunters may want to make a note of the change to Snake Trap's functionality. If you've missed a hotfix update and you're wondering what kind of changes have been made, be sure to check out the official site, which offers a handy way to sort hotfix notes by either date or category. Rygarius January 14 Classes Hunter General Snake Trap now uses the same version of Mind-Numbing Poison debuff as Rogues; reducing the target's casting speed on player targets by 10% (down from 25%). Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios Siege of Orgrimmar Paragons of the Klaxxi [Requires a realm restart.] Resolved an issue that could cause tanks to be unable to interact with a fallen Paragon. source

    01.10.2014

A fresh batch of hotfixes for patch 5.4.2 have just been released and posted to the official blog. Today's list is fairly class-intensive -- many CC abilities involving casting speed reduction have had their affects on player targets gently adjusted. In addition to the list of CC tweaks is one small change to a quest in Northrend that will require a realm restart to be applied. Death Knights, Necrotic Strike now only reduces the casting speed on player targets by 10%. Rogues, Mind-numbing Poison has been similarly adjusted, and now reduces player casting speed by 10%. Players helping out the Winterfin in Northrend will now be able to properly collect Winterfin Clams -- this will take a realm restart. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

  • Weekly updates coming to PlanetSide 2

    01.09.2014

Would you like your favorite game to update more often or less often? Odds are you're prefer the former; barring the occasional update that badly breaks something, updates are a good thing. That's why creative director Matt Higby took to the PlanetSide 2 forums to break the happy news that the game's update schedule will be increasing to weekly patches. Yes, that's weekly, starting next Wednesday and continuing through the remainder of the year. Higby explains that the new schedule will have several benefits, starting with the team no longer requiring frequent hotfixes to take care of minor bugs and performance issues. It also means that each individual update will be a bit smaller, resulting in fewer moving pieces and a lower chance of introducing bugs with any given update. Larger features are still being developed, and they'll be moved into the new weekly schedule, but players will be able to expect at least something once a week.

Another short and sweet round of hotfixes for patch 5.4.2 have been released and posted to the official blog. This time, balance druids and shadow priests are on the receiving end of some buff love. In addition to the buffs, one pesky bug from the Dragon Soul raid has also been addressed. Rygarius Classes Druid Balance Astral Communion is now immune to interrupts. The ability still cannot be cast while Silenced, this will be corrected in a future patch. Moonkin Form now increases the Druid's armor by 100% (up from 60%). Priest Shadow Shadowform now increases the Priest's armor by 100% (up from 60%). Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios Dragon Soul Resolved a situation where the Claw of Go'rath was causing players to fall underneath the world. source

January 6 is apparently buff day. A new round of hotfixes for patch 5.4.2 have been released and posted on the official blog. No bug fixes or adjustments to raid encounters this time around. Instead, the short list is simply a welcome set of buffs for both frost and unholy death knights, as well as hunters and elemental shaman. Death knights playing in frost specialization -- Icy talons now increases melee attack speed by 45% instead of 30%. Hunters, Aspect of the Hawk now increases ranged attack power by 35%, up from 25%. Shaman playing in elemental specialization -- Elemental Focus now increases spell damage done by 20%, up from 15%. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

Blizzard is back in the office, and a new set of hotfixes have been released on the official blog. While the adjustments made to the Siege of Orgrimmar raid are to be expected, the other change is a little different. Trade Prince Donais is now quite a bit tougher than he used to be -- players looking to easily farm Donais may want to turn their attentions elsewhere. January 3 Creatures Trade Prince Donais now has stats befitting of his position in the Bilgewater Cartel. Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios Siege of Orgrimmar Kor'Kron Barracks/Underhold Nexus Kor'kron Iron Sentinel, Kor'kron Shredder, and Kor'kron Skullsplitter now deal less damage on Raid Finder difficulty. source

    12.20.2013

The end of the year is upon us, which means we won't be seeing any hotfixes for a couple of weeks. However, before everyone heads out to celebrate the holidays, Blizzard has released a small set of patch 5.4.2 hotfixes to send us on our way. While the raid adjustments may not be particularly exciting, the information regarding the newest pet addition to Winter Veil should be enough to make anyone happy. Rygarius December 19 Raids, Dungeons, and Scenarios Siege of Orgrimmar Paragons of the Klaxxi Ka'roz the Locust's Hurl Amber ability will now form a pool of Caustic Amber at the target's feet 3 seconds after targeting them. The timing was less predictable previously and varied based on the targeted player's distance from Ka'roz. [Requires a realm restart.] Effects transforming a player's appearance should no longer prevent them from being able to interact with a defeated Paragon. December 20 Items Rotten Helper Box's drop rate has increased slightly. source

    12.18.2013

A new set of hotfixes for patch 5.4.2 have been released and posted on the official blog. The list this time around is very short, and simply includes a few adjustments to the Siege of Orgrimmar raid, one fix for discipline priests, and an adjustment to Terrace of Endless Spring. Players looking to completely the Terrace of Endless Spring on Raid Finder difficulty now only requires an ilvl of 470 to be eligible. Those working on the Paragons of the Klaxxi encounter in the Siege of Orgrimmar should find melee damage from the Paragons to be far less likely to spike. In addition, a bug in which Xaril the Poisoned Mind was not properly using Toxic Injection when he joined the fight has been resolved. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

    12.17.2013

Another new round of hotfixes for patch 5.4.2 were released and posted to the official blog yesterday. While there were a few bug fixes, the biggest news comes in the form of the weighted randomization for abilities in Flexible raids. In addition, new item level requirements have been added for Flexible raids while using the Cross-Realm raid browser. On the Timeless Isle, rocks from a cave-in blocking the entrance to the Mysterious Den should now be solid as ... well, rocks. Dragonmaw and Wildhammer NPCs in the Twilight Highlands should be able to be attacked again -- however, this will take a realm restart. Legendary metagem effects should no longer have a chance to activate while in an arena, battleground, or rated battleground. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

    12.12.2013

The first set of hotfixes for patch 5.4.2 have been released and posted to the official blog. For a small patch, the list of hotfixes is fairly lengthy, although there's nothing too major to be found. However, there have been several adjustments made to Arenas -- players who frequently PvP may want to take a look at the adjustments that have been made. In addition, hunters may want to take a look at changes that have been put in place as well. Hunters -- Revive Pet now has a cast time of 2 seconds, down from 4. Arena matches should now have a correct maximum duration of 20 minutes again. Paladins, your seals should no longer be removed at the start of an arena match. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

  • August Celestials hotfixed to accomodate smaller groups

    by

    12.03.2013

Just one hotfix was released last night, but it was a doozy for those looking to complete their legendary cloaks. All four Celestials on the Timeless Isle have had their health reduced to 25% of their original giant-raid-worthy health pool. If more than 10 players from the same faction engage with a Celestial, its health will scale up to compensate. The scaling will stop at 100% of their original health once 40 players are engaged in the encounter. The last step of Wrathion's expansion-long chain to obtain legendary cloaks was easy enough when patch 5.4 went live, but these days fewer players are killing the Celestials each week. I know my server usually sees a lot of Celestial kills on Tuesday, but that number drops rapidly as the week wanes on, making it far more difficult for players that are trying to catch up and get their cloak. This change should hopefully make it a little more feasible for players to complete the quest. While it's nice to see this change applied to the Celestials, I wish we'd see the same technology applied to the rest of Pandaria's world raid bosses as well. The Sha of Fear, Galleon, Oondasta, and Nalak all drop mounts, but it's difficult to find a raid group to take these bosses on so late in the expansion. As the expansion's end draws near, it would be nice to see that technology put in place for older content as well as the new. What do you guys think?

    11.26.2013

A new batch of patch 5.4 hotfixes have been released and posted the official blog. While the list is pretty short, there are a couple of class tweaks for both death knights and druids in there. In addition, Siegecrafter Blackfuse has been given several adjustments in the Siege of Orgrimmar. Blackfuse's Magnetic Lasso will now also pull character corpses from the conveyor belt to the main platform of the encounter. That pesky issue in which players dropping onto the conveyor belt immediately died from fall damage has been resolved. Soul Reaper's additional damage effect should now trigger correctly even if the death knight is dead. Read on for the full, if brief, list of hotfixes.

    11.22.2013

Just a very tiny batch of hotfixes today, some for specific battle pets, including the BlizzCon pet Murkalot, who, it seems, may have been just a tad too powerful. He's had some cooldowns changed, and Kovok's pheromones have been calmed down. But the most exciting one, for me, is the change to players' resurrection spells. Ever been resurrected in-game by a player and had to wait 30 seconds for a timer before you can accept it? No longer the case. That's gone altogether. And in my book, that's a great little quality of life change! Rygarius General Resurrection spells cast by players now ignore resurrection timers. Pet Battle Battle Pets Kovok's Pheromones ability now deals 50% less damage. Murkalot's Righteous Inspiration has had its cooldown increased to 8 rounds (up from 5 rounds). Murkalot's Shieldstorm is now on the same tier as Righteous Inspiration. source

    11.19.2013

A small round of hotfixes for patch 5.4 have been released and posted to the official blog. Before you get too excited, several of these hotfixes require realm restarts to properly complete. However, today's list includes a few tweaks for shaman, one fix for Paragons of the Klaxxi, and a ... unique problem with a Battle Pet that has now been addressed. Zao, Calfling of Niuzao, has been quietly convinced that he is not, in fact, the Headless Horseman, and will now make the correct noises when using his Charge ability. This will take a realm restart. Shaman, Stone Bulwark Totem's damage absorption shield should now be properly affected by both Battle Fatigue and Dampening. Xaril the Posioned Mind should no longer be taking credit in combat logs for attacks cast by players that were under the effects of Canned Heat. This will take a realm restart. Read on for the full list of hotfixes.

Just because Blizzcon happened, doesn't mean the Blizzard hotfix gnomes weren't working busily on doing what they do best, fixing up those little bugs in the game that get in the way of everyone's fun. Of course, you can hit the break for the full hotfix list, but most notable is the return of Armsmaster Holinka and Roo Desvin, the Quartermasters that sell Conquest gear for Honor, as long as you have the 27,000 conquest earned per season achievement. These guys were pulled due to some early calculation errors, but are well and truly back in business. What's more, it now seems that, if you're afflicted by Garrosh Hellscream's Malice, even death won't save you! And, most importantly of all, Elder Lin and Sage Whiteheart have learned not to be all up in each other's business in the Shrine! Hit the break for the full list.
