PSN Tuesday: House of the Dead 4, StarDrone Extreme, Disgaea 3
Today's PlayStation Store update extracts The House of the Dead 4 from its forgotten existence in arcades, planting it in your tastefully lit abode for $9.99. You can also purchase the Vita's StarDrone Extreme, an enhanced and now cross-compatible version of the fast-paced PlayStation 3 hurtling game. (Yes, that's a genre. You hurtle.)Sony has expanded the store with tongue-in-cheek strategy RPG Disgaea 3: Absence of Detention, new Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception DLC and a downloadable version of Dead Rising 2: Off the Record. House of the Dead 4 opens its doors on PSN April 17
A new Sega arcade shooter comes home for the first time next month, when House of the Dead 4 hits PS3 on April 17, for $9.99.House of the Dead 4 gains a few augmentations in its trip to PSN, including HD graphics, Move support, a slew of new Trophies to unlock and additional levels found in House of the Dead 4 Special. It's no Overkill, but it's a nice bonus for franchise fans who never tracked this one down in the arcade.
House of the Dead 3 and 4 becoming PSN neighbors
Two of Sega's old lightgun shooters, House of the Dead 3 and House of the Dead 4, are shambling to the PlayStation Network exclusively. The third installment in the recently rebooted series will arrive on February 7, with the fourth chapter to follow in "spring." Both games come with received HD updates, along with Trophies and Move support. House of the Dead 3, originally released in 2002, has been on consoles before (the Wii, and Xbox before that), but 2005's House of the Dead 4 has never seen life outside of arcades. Considering many of us haven't even been to an arcade in the past decade, it'll almost be a "new" game. %Gallery-142967%
Sega: More Dead games if you buy 2 & 3 Return
According to JeuxFrance, Sega is dangling quite the juicy carrot in front of our faces. They say that should enough people pick up House of the Dead 2 & 3 Return, they'll hook us Wii gamers up with House of the Dead 4. Not only that, but they're supposedly promising to bring the Typing of the Dead games to the console, as well.We're going to keep this labeled as a rumor, for the time being. Why? Well, it's not like JeuxFrance sources anything for this bit of information, so we're going to remain a bit skeptical, even though we'd love for Sega to hook us up with more Dead games.%Gallery-10506%
