WoW Moviewatch: Wable - Episode 5
The Wable series is picking up steam. (That's WoW cable, get it?) In the fifth episode, we visit Planet Azeroth to discover the most popular class in the game. They do manage to get a hunter loot joke in there; it's been a while since we've seen a good hunter loot joke. There's an odd outhouse reference in the next sketch and we even get to see some Diablo cuts. These videos have some of the best animation we see lately, and the humor's definitely going to a new level with each episode. It's more than worth your time to check out. Running gnomes aside, of course. Rumor has it they're moving on to live action films next. It'll be interesting see what the future brings. Interested in the wide world of machinima? WoW Moviewatch: Lamien
Work Warning: Language, violence, and the movie is long. It's always nice when this happens. Back in April, we shared the preview for Hybrim's new machinima Lamien. I'm thrilled to announce that the full length film has been released! This isn't quick viewing, though. Clocking in a little over 18 minutes, Lamien is the kind of machinima you need to kick back with a drink and really watch. Lamien is packed to the brim with references, jokes, and incredible graphics. It helps to be steeped in the lore of science fiction films to get all the jokes, but I don't think it's necessary. It's amazing how many details Hybrim managed to evoke in this video. It's truly amazing and not the kind of thing we see often these days. WoW Moviewatch: Lord of the Blings
What do you say about a parody like Lord of the Blings by Hybrim? I mean, you know the story, you know the characters, you can probably anticipate some of the high points. I don't know much of Hybrim's work but I was definitely impressed by this piece. Also, it has a drunk-dwarf joke. I'm a sucker for drunk jokes about dwarves, so my hat's completely off on the basis of that alone. Still, watch the whole thing. Interested in the wide world of machinima?
