After catching enough glimpses of the smartphone over the past few months, we already had a good idea of what to expect: Big Red's latest LTE device will have Ice Cream Sandwich dressed in Sense 4, a 4-inch Super LCD qHD panel, a 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 (Krait), 1,700mAh user-removable battery, microSD support and an 8MP BSI camera with a 28mm f/2.2 lens.

If you're familiar with either the OG HTC Droid Incredible or its sequel, you'll instantly recognize the trusty hump on the back of the third iteration -- Verizon and HTC haven't strayed too far from the design formula here. Aside from the Sense 4 firmware hiding inside the phone, the Incredible 4G LTE has little in common with its cousins, the One X and One S. Frankly, we're still left pondering if the carrier will come out with a version of its own, since we've seen the other three national powers get a high-profile device from the Taiwanese manufacturer.

We had a very similar feeling when holding the new Incredible, one easily related to how we felt with its predecessors. It's quite light, and it actually feels thinner than it really is. All in all, the phone is very comfortable to hold, and from our few minutes of using it, it seemed to be rather smooth. Naturally, as we expected, Verizon reps warned us that it's running on preliminary firmware at the moment, so we don't take a lot of stock in its performance, good or bad. All in all, it's exactly how we thought it would be -- a refreshed version of the Incredible 2, with a much better processor and a few other notable bumps in specs. Head below to check out a few images of Verizon's newest darling.

Update: Our hands-on video is now live after the break.

Gallery: HTC Incredible 4G LTE hands-on

Continue reading HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE for Verizon hands-on at CTIA 2012 (update: video)

HTC Droid Incredible 4G LTE for Verizon hands-on at CTIA 2012 (update: video) originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 07 May 2012 20:59:00 EST. Well, clearly it's an HTC phone, but it looks different to what we've seen before. If the pictures are to be believed, we're looking at an Android 4.0 device with HTC's Sense 4.0 on top. There's LTE on board, and what looks like Verizon's splash-screen, meaning there's every reason to believe this is destined for the US. The rest of the specs suggest it's packing a dual-core 1.2 GHz Snapdragon processor, backed up by 1GB of RAM, Beats Audio and an 8-megapixel shooter. Given that the Rezound already purrs along on a 1.5GHz chip and that embossed backing looks oh-so familiar, it doesn't seem out of line to wager this is the next-gen Incredible with a bump in clock speed. What also catches our eye is the inclusion of hardware buttons, leaving open the possibility that this might just be a prototype after all. We're too not hopeful we'll learn much more before MWC, but we'll keep our eyes on the trail all the same.
Unknown HTC phone running ICS pops up, looks Incredible originally appeared on Engadget on Fri, 10 Feb 2012 11:17:00 EST. It's borderline crazy to think that we posed this very question about the original Droid Incredible in June of 2010, yet here we are again. Same question, different day, and (mostly) different phone. Verizon Wireless has been pumping out Android devices like it's its job -- and really, it sort of is -- and HTC's DI2 is certainly one of the more polarizing options. Loaded with Sense and plenty of VZW "extras," we're anxious to see if the things that bothered us also bothered you. Is the screen size adequate? Are you still better off with Sense than without? Would you change the form factor or software in any way for the inevitable third iteration? Holler in comments below -- we're all ears.
How would you change HTC's Droid Incredible 2? originally appeared on Engadget on Sun, 25 Sep 2011 22:32:00 EST. Tired of your ho-hum black original HTC Droid Incredible? Thinking of trading up for a shiny new Gingerbread model? Well, this may influence your decision a bit. Pocketnow is reporting that Verizon will soon be offering a new silver version of the HTC Droid Incredible 2 (Incredible S) to be sold alongside the original black edition. Keeping suit with many other lighter phones we've seen these days, the company chose a pretty standard two-tone design and will keep the same specs as its elder sibling. Pricing should be the same as well, although, with a number of new devices due out soon, perhaps a discount could be in order. No word yet on a release date, but keep your eyes peeled -- especially if frustrations over a lack of color choice led you to purchase one of these.
HTC Droid Incredible 2 lightens up with new silver wardrobe originally appeared on Engadget on Tue, 02 Aug 2011 03:05:00 EST. Remember the Gingerbread update that's rolling out to the T-Mobile myTouch 4G? If waiting for the OTA download doesn't mesh with your level of patience (or lack thereof), you'll be able to head to a corporate-owned retail store starting August 5th to receive the update manually. The Kyocera Echo's rollout of Gingerbread may be starting tomorrow and getting pushed out to customers over a four-day period. It wasn't that long ago that we were jonesing for a Nexus One on Verizon. What HTC gave us instead was the Droid Incredible, with the same 1GHz Snapdragon CPU and gorgeous 3.7-inch AMOLED display -- not to mention a better camera (8 megapixel vs. five), 8GB of built-in flash storage, an optical trackpad, HTC's Sense UI on top of Eclair, and a dash of funky industrial design. The Incredible was an impressive phone with a lovely camera, marred only by questionable battery life and lack of supply, forcing HTC to build a Super LCD-equipped model to satisfy demand. Judging by the popularity of the Incredible, it came as no surprise that following HTC's announcement at MWC, the Incredible S eventually became Verizon's Droid Incredible 2. With a 4-inch Super LCD display, global CDMA / GSM radio, front-facing camera, updated internals (including 768 MB of RAM), trick capacitive buttons, and a Froyo-flavored serving of Sense, the Incredible 2 seems like a worthy successor to last year's Incredible. Does it live up to our expectations or is it just another fish in the crowded sea of Android? Does it significantly improve upon the original formula or is it merely a refresh? Hit the break for our review.
If you'd been crushing hard on HTC's Incredible, cool that burning desire just a smidgen -- we've got evidence that suggests an imminent release of the Droid Incredible 2. Following its appearance in Verizon's internal system and leaked training docs, Best Buy has begun receiving accessories for the re-purposed Incredible S, ensuring you'll have all the requisite goodies at launch. Additionally, the folks at Droid Life report Verizon stores are receiving retail shipments of the device, along with Casio's G'zOne Commando. The expected release date is April 28th, so it looks like you'll be playing with those capacitive buttons soon enough. We've included a pic of the retail box after the break, and you'll find additional snapshots in the source link.
Continue reading HTC Incredible 2 prepares for imminent launch, Casio's Commando provides backup

HTC Incredible 2 prepares for imminent launch, Casio's Commando provides backup originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 25 Apr 2011 07:17:00 EST. HTC's Droid Incredible 2 for Verizon hasn't exactly been the best kept secret over the past few months, and it looks like some of the remaining few details about the phone have now also been cleared up by yet more leaked documents obtained by Android Central. Assuming they are indeed legit, it's looking like the Incredible 2 will be a world phone with both CDMA and GSM connectivity, and that it will boast a new 1.3 megapixel front-facing camera to go along with the standard 8 megapixel shooter 'round back. You can also apparently count on getting a 16GB microSD card with the phone, and that use of the 3G mobile hotspot will cost you an extra $20 for 20GB, at least according to the document -- although Android Central rightly notes that may well be a typo. Here's hoping Verizon finally clears up some of those details itself sooner rather than later.
Leaked docs suggest Verizon Droid Incredible 2 will be a world phone originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 11 Apr 2011 15:03:00 EST. If you had any doubts about HTC's Incredible S making it to our shores, they're probably dissipating as we speak -- not only has the phone obtained Verizon's shiny red checkmark, it's now got the robotic eye of Sauron staring at us with ferocious intensity. PocketNow obtained these pictures of the likely Droid Incredible 2 without naming so much as an anonymous source, and we wouldn't be surprised if it's Verizon's way of reminding us that the handset is rapidly on its way to market. You'll find two more pictures at our source link.
It hit Verizon's system a few weeks ago and now it's hitting a white corner for some pictures, showing VZW branding no less. It's the US-spec version of the Incredible S, said to be running Android 2.2 but word is that Gingerbread will be on-tap before it ships. The rest of the specs on this four-inch slab line up with what we've learned before, meaning the only question now is the all-important when.
HTC Droid Incredible 2 smiles pretty for the camera, shows off its fresh VZW tat originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 12 Mar 2011 17:36:00 EST. Well, look what we've got here! Seeing that HTC just introduced the Incredible S -- a world phone only available in the UK -- it was only a matter of time before the phone hit the stateside. A trusted tipster just hit us with screen shots of Verizon's internals containing a device dubbed HTC ADR6350. The other screenshot below has a listing for the HTC63503 with a description of "INCRD2." Putting two and two together, we'd say with great confidence that the Incredible 2 is coming to Verizon in the near future -- and we certainly wouldn't be surprised if it had something to do with that "buttonless" shot we saw a while back. Stay tuned as we try and dig up more details... and in the meantime, peep the second screenshot after the break!
Continue reading HTC Droid Incredible 2 shows up in Verizon's system

HTC Droid Incredible 2 shows up in Verizon's system originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 26 Feb 2011 05:01:00 EST. The rich landscape of Android versioning just got a bit richer, with word of an official Froyo update for the Droid Incredible being launched tomorrow (based on the screencap pictured above), while the EVO 4G's recent Froyo software just got rooted. If you're crazily impatient, an Android 2.2 ROM for the Incredible just leaked out into the wild, and can be installed with a bit of work, but from the official-looking-ness of this leak from Droid Life, a painless official update is not far off. Meanwhile, in Sprint land, the xda-devs have a rather complicated, rather scary method posted for rooting 2.2 on the EVO 4G -- you'll have to ask yourself how much that freedom is worth to you, or just wait for the inevitably easier methods to come along and hold your hand.
The revolving door: Froyo for Droid Incredible coming tomorrow, Froyo for EVO 4G gets rooted originally appeared on Engadget on Thu, 26 Aug 2010 14:01:00 EST. You know the drill: if you're rolling custom firmwares for your Android-powered devices, you've got to release the GPL portions of those binaries for all of our prying eyes to see. It's a drill HTC is well-acquainted with at this point, and once again, they've come swooping in with a couple that should pique the particular interest of the North American hacking community: kernel source for the Android 2.2 releases for Verizon's Droid Incredible and Sprint's EVO 4G. Of course, finding a frickin' Droid Incredible is another matter altogether... but hey, at least when you do, you'll have the source for it. Half the battle, right?
Froyo code for HTC EVO 4G, Droid Incredible goes open source originally appeared on Engadget on Fri, 13 Aug 2010 04:37:00 EST. Uh oh: on top of reports that the EVO 4G suffers screen-detachment issues, we're also starting to hear that the touchscreen sensor is inconsistent, particularly when the phone isn't grounded. We've seen more than one report and video purporting to show the EVO's touchscreen failing to smoothly register touches when the phone isn't being handheld (and thus grounded). We haven't been able to reproduce the issues ourselves, but trust us when we say we've heard from enough unhappy EVO owners to believe that the problem is real. What's more, there's also an older video showing the same problem on three different Droid Incredibles, which obviously shares strong family ties to the EVO. We've pinged HTC, we'll let you know what we hear -- for now, get your sad faces on and watch the videos after the break.
Yeah, we called it the best Android device in America during our review back in April, and even today it's somewhat difficult to track down, but that's not to suggest that HTC's Droid Incredible is free of flaws. The Sense-enabled smartphone is the current flagship in VZW's stable, and while the EVO 4G may offer faster connections (in select locales) and a larger display, the Droid Incredible still has its fair share of proponents. This space, however, is where we all take a deep breath, a step back and quick sip of a strong drink. After that, we'd invite you to hit up comments below and tell us how you'd tweak this here smartphone if you suddenly found your way into HTC's headquarters. Would you have stretched the display a centimeter or two? Changed the hardware design somewhat? Made it available with a GSM radio? The options are pretty limitless, so head on down and publish your $0.02. Seriously, what are you waiting for?
How would you change HTC's Droid Incredible? originally appeared on Engadget on Sat, 12 Jun 2010 00:37:00 EST. The Incredible wait is finally at an end -- HTC's finest handset on Verizon had proven quite the tough nut to crack, but at long last it has succumbed to the efforts of some industrious root-hungry coders. You should be mindful that progress is still at a very early stage, and hacking your own Incredible is said to be both "very hard" and "not very repeatable." The important thing though, is that it's happened, and we're now probably only a few days removed from a user-friendly patch that lets us truly do whatever we might want with that handsome device. They say roots are an important part of a balanced diet, and this one should go very nicely with a bit of Froyo, don't you think?
Now here's an innovative concept -- instead of doing separate videos for an unboxing and a disassembly of the Droid Incredible, why not combine them into one? And while you're at it, turn that into a stop-motion animation and include well timed sound effects for comedic relief. Make sure to include intimate closeups of the Incredible's spectacularly red innards, then finish off with a sped-up reconstruction and reboot of the handsome Nexus One killer. Got all that? Good, now drop the video after the break and let the people enjoy it.
Continue reading Droid Incredible torn down to its constituent elements, reassembled in a flash (video)

Droid Incredible torn down to its constituent elements, reassembled in a flash (video) originally appeared on Engadget on Wed, 05 May 2010 05:27:00 EST. Nobody knew quite what it did and few even received it, but some figured it probably fixed the smattering of random reboots and radio bugs experienced by some early adopters. We reached out to Verizon on the matter, and we're afraid to say that's not the case -- the new 1.22.605.2 CL161494 software build merely fixes a bug in Microsoft Exchange support. As such, you'll only see the update if you've got a corporate handset, and those who do can expect their carbon-copy email fields (which would apparently fill with unintended addresses beforehand) to be fixed sometime around May 6th. On the off-chance that fix magically transforms your mobile world, feel free to let us know in comments. Full statement after the break.
Continue reading Droid Incredible's mysterious OTA update actually fixes Exchange bug

Droid Incredible's mysterious OTA update actually fixes Exchange bug originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 03 May 2010 16:25:00 EST. Well now this is a bit of an odd story, but we've seen enough reports to think that it is fully legit. HTC Incredible owners in and around the great state of North Carolina, particularly those in north-central portion (the Triad) are reporting that their phones are rebooting all on their own with alarming regularity. Many have tried new phones, combinations of wireless settings, and other remediations only to find the problem still occurring just as frequently as before. Verizon Wireless is said to be aware of the issue and there has been talk that tower-switching in areas of low signal is to blame, but at this point it certainly sounds like anyone's guess. Have you been affected? Drop us a note in comments -- but try to keep the intra-college banter clean, yeah?

Update: We're being told there are far more Duke and Tar Heel fans per capita in the Triangle area of NC than in the Triad, which is where this issue seems to be centered, meaning it's really the Demon Deacons who should be concerned.

Don't say we didn't warn you. HTC's impressive Droid Incredible has arrived, so if you pre-ordered one you can expect it today (if you haven't already gotten it) -- and if you didn't, well you can pick one up at a nearby Verizon store. If you haven't already, be sure to check out our full review of the Incredible.

Update: So, a friendly tipster pointed out to us that on Verizon's website, it actually still lists the Droid Incredible as available for pre-order. You might recall that fascinating video a while back showing the Nexus One's touch sensor getting all discombobulated when the tester's multitouch fingerwork started to get a little too fancy, and now, Android Central has confirmed that Verizon's Droid Incredible doesn't suffer the same fate -- but why is that, exactly? Android and Me is reporting that the Droid Incredible and EVO 4G both employ an Atmel maXTouch sensor with unlimited touch support -- a relatively new product launched in late '09 -- whereas the Nexus One is using Synaptics' older ClearPad 2000, which was designed to top out with simple two-finger gestures like pinch zoom. The upshot? Complicated multitouch games might end up being less playable (or downright unusable) on the Nexus One, but the silver lining is that HTC's gone ahead and rolled out better components for its latest round of devices that should prevent this from being a problem going forward. Follow the break for Android Central's video of the Droid Incredible multitouching circles around the Nexus One -- figuratively speaking, of course.
Continue reading Confirmed: Droid Incredible's multitouch support is better than the Nexus One's

Confirmed: Droid Incredible's multitouch support is better than the Nexus One's originally appeared on Engadget on Mon, 26 Apr 2010 07:14:00 EST. While the new Verizon Droid Incredible isn't supposed to arrive until April 29th, a few blessed pre-orderers are getting their units early. From the sound of it, there was a glitch in Verizon's system that was allowing some phone orders to be shipped right away -- sadly, that apparently has since been plugged. Interestingly, the boxes these are being shipped in so far just say "HTC Incredible," not that it's any surprise that the Droid Incredible moniker was a late-in-game addition. Of course, cries of "fake!" rang out in the forums, so one of the recipients (appropriately self-dubbed "SoSmarmy") posted a video of the phone booting up for all to see. Check it out after the break. Not seething with envy yet? Perhaps you should re-read our review of the new flagship Android handset.
Though some information leaked out of Verizon's pipes yesterday, HTC just got really real with the Droid Incredible at the 99% Conference in New York today. Specs are pretty much what we expected: Android 2.1 with Sense, an 8 megapixel cam, 1GHz Snapdragon (not the underclocked core we'd heard rumored before, thankfully), WiFi, and a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display. Basically, this unit is a Sense-ified HTC Nexus One with an up-spec'd camera and a penchant for Verizon's airwaves -- and for a whole lotta Android users, that's exactly what the doctor ordered. It hits on April 29 for $199.99 on contract after a $100 mail-in rebate -- but in the mean time, you'll be able to pre-order starting on the 19th. Full PR after the break.

Update: We've also got a live shot of the device after the break. Thanks, Bryan!

Update 2: Verizon's own Incredible site is now live -- have fun over there! Thanks, Artem!

Update 3: We've confirmed that the phone will be up for pre-sale at Best Buy starting on the 18th, and per usual, this route will ensure you get the handset for $199.99 sans any mail-in rebate hassles.
Continue reading HTC Droid Incredible officially official for Verizon, April 29 for $200 (updated with a live shot!)

HTC Droid Incredible officially official for Verizon, April 29 for $200 (updated with a live shot!) originally appeared on Engadget on Thu, 15 Apr 2010 12:26:00 EST. Yes, good people of Engadgetland, we finally have an official spec sheet for the eagerly awaited Incredible handset. A 3.7-inch OLED touchscreen leads the way, with an 800 x 480 resolution, which will offer the full Google Experience on Android version 2.1. That sounds remarkably like a refashioned Nexus One to us, even down to the 1GHz Snapdragon chip inside, but where the Droid Incredible differs is in its inclusion of Sense UI (à la the Desire) and an 8 megapixel autofocusing camera. We're also seeing GPS and 8GB of integrated memory -- expandable to 24GB via MicroSD cards -- on this list, which can be found in its entirety at the source link below. Not long to wait now.

Official announcements be damned -- Verizon's just thrown up a "coming soon" preview page for the HTC Incredible. While we didn't necessarily need any more evidence this guy was real -- we've read its user's manual, we've spied shots of it in Verizon's system, and we've seen it in the wild enough times to sketch it quickly from memory with our eyes closed -- it's still exciting news to know that the inevitable unleashing of this beast is nearly upon us.

Update: They've changed up this page already (as you can see from our updated image) -- giving us the date of April 29th. And yes, they're calling it the Droid Incredible.

Update 2: You'll want to hit the read more and check out some photographic evidence of the Incredible making its way to T-Mobile via Costco stores -- it appears to be showing up in inventories now -- we'll keep you posted.

Update 3: And now the website is password protected. That's okay: we know what it said.
So Phandroid has scored some internal Verizon rah-rah type material teasing a device announcement on Monday, and they're thinking it's the upcoming HTC Incredible -- but we're not so sure. This lines up all too well with Microsoft's mysterious event in San Francisco, an event that we've heard repeatedly from a multitude of respected sources (Paul Thurrott and Ina Fried, to name a couple) would be for Microsoft's long-rumored Pink handsets, likely for launch on Verizon. Couple that with Verizon's verbiage here -- "it's new, it's unique, living exclusively on... Verizon Wireless" -- and we kinda think that a device as similar to phones already in the marketplace as the Incredible is doesn't warrant the hype. Fortunately, we'll have this all sorted out in less than 72 hours' time.

You can't buy an Incredible from Verizon just yet, but we're getting awfully close -- and in the meantime, you've got some exciting new reading material to pore over. It looks like the full, unabridged, seemingly final version of the phone's user's manual has just leaked over on Android Forums, and while there aren't any blockbuster revelations in here as far as we can tell, it confirms what we've long suspected: this is basically a CDMA Desire with an 8 megapixel camera. You've got the full Sense UI experience atop Android 2.1, a 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display, 1GHz Snapdragon, and an optical joystick -- a new trend out of HTC that looks destined to completely supplant the trackball, much as it has already done for RIM. Around back, we've got some confirmation that the Incredible is going to feature a positively bizarre contoured battery cover; it might not be your first choice, but honestly, you're not going to let that stop you from buying, now, are you?
So there's a rather interesting thread going down over in Phandroid's forums that suggests we'll finally see a launch of the hotly-anticipated HTC Incredible for Verizon later this month -- the 25th, to be exact. That makes sense and we can totally believe it -- particularly considering that it's a Sunday, Verizon's traditional launch day -- and it's further corroborated by a corporate email sent around to Verizon employees today implying that "new devices [are] launching really soon." There's a lot of interpretation you could do here; we don't know what "Code Name: 6" on the rocket-propelled cardboard box means, for example, but it's pretty safe to argue that the Incredible will factor prominently into this campaign. About time, right?

[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]
Update: There's a new slide from Best Buy Mobile up on Android and Me alleging a 29th release date for the Incredible, so we can imagine two scenarios here: either it's coming the 29th everywhere, or Verizon will have it on the 25th and Best Buy on the 29th. We're also seeing a 25th date for the LG Cosmos (and the 5600PP, whatever the heck that is) and a 22nd date for the Samsung Reality -- both presumably Best Buy Mobile dates, not Verizon direct.
We'd already had some indication that the HTC Incredible could be landing on Verizon sooner rather than later, and it looks like we now have yet more photographic evidence to back that up. According to an Android Phones forum member, that shot above is of a genuine CelleBrite machine that Verizon uses to transfer information from one phone to another, and it quite clearly lists the HTC Incredible among some of the other usual suspects. What it doesn't show, obviously, is a date of any sort, but it does back up earlier reports that Verizon already has the phone stocked in their warehouse, if not their stores.
So HTC's mighty Android-powered Incredible for Verizon is apparently showing up in Verizon's systems as having precisely 156,709 units "On Order," and the individual that posted the shot over in Android Forums says that "On Order" is really code for "they're in the warehouse, and you're not allowed to sell them yet." He goes on to say that they won't be shipping to stores this week, but now that they're in Verizon's hands -- not the manufacturer's -- a retail event can't be far off, we figure. With Sprint having gotten virtually all of the Android spotlight at CTIA this year on account of the EVO 4G, it's Verizon's turn, wouldn't you say?
It's a mighty aggressive schedule for a handset that hasn't even been announced yet, but the latest scuttlebutt regarding the HTC Incredible suggests that the phone will make its debut on Verizon's airwaves about two weeks from now. It was already known that the Incredible was destined for a rendezvous with Big Red, but this latest word solidifies and specifies that future nicely -- and it's claimed to come directly from internal sources at Verizon. There's also further mention of 512MB of DRAM allied to a downclocked Snapdragon CPU (capable of 1GHz, running at 768MHz), an 8 megapixel camera, a 1,300 mAh battery, and body dimensions almost indistinguishable from those belonging to the Nexus One. Good thing too, since Verizon is still keeping us waiting on a mysterious Spring release of Google's own-brand phone. We get the feeling Android 2.1 and the new Sense UI will fill that gap nicely, however, and if you really must have that 1GHz speed, there are ways to achieve such things too.
Android Forums is alight today with fresh HTC Incredible chatter -- a phone every Android fan on Verizon is desperately waiting for -- and we've managed to glean a few more pictures and possible specs out of the mess. It looks like we can expect a half gig of RAM with about 320MB available (roughly the same as what you find on the Nexus One) and an 8 megapixel cam, but interestingly, the phone's Snapdragon core is apparently underclocked to 768MHz, almost certainly a battery-saving measure on HTC's part; fortunately, the Sense-powered Android 2.1 firmware is still said to be "blazing fast." It measures 117.5 x 58.5 x 11.9mm -- just a hair narrower, shorter, and thicker than its Nexus One doppelganger, small enough of a difference so that we think it'll be virtually indistinguishable in person. As shots go, we're seeing now that HTC has moved from the brightly-colored glossy shell to a soft-touch black one while keeping the strange contours; we think there's at least a chance that this is final ID, too, since the Verizon logo is silkscreened at the bottom. Inside, the entire thing (including the battery itself) is a shockingly loud shade of red, mirroring an odd design trend first seen on the HD mini. We definitely dig it. If the stats over on the forum hold up, the Incredible's on track for a launch in April or May, so it's still a few weeks off -- in the meanwhile, we encourage you to check out more of the new shots after the break.
We're missing that crazy contoured back this time around, but otherwise, HTC's so-called Incredible for Verizon is looking as real and ready for action as it ever has in these latest shots leaked over at Phandroid. It's hard to say whether these crimson bits are going to make it to production -- they seem a little too spectacular for a high-end device that Verizon will want to appeal to the masses, but then again, red is Verizon's color, so who knows? We've seen from countless prototypes in the past (Moto's Morrison comes immediately to mind) that they're often given special colors, presumably to identify bandits trying to expose them as anonymously as possible -- and we're tentatively going to say we dig it here. AT&T's gone wacky on us in the past, but is Verizon hip enough to ship a phone this edgy? Release rumors span from March to May at this point, so we'll know within the next couple months what's what.
Verizon's HTC Incredible spotted again, looking as red-accented as ever originally appeared on Engadget on Thu, 04 Mar 2010 15:51:00 EST. It's impossible to say with certainty what we're looking at here, but by all appearances, this is likely the first time most of you (and all of us) have seen HTC's so-called Supersonic on video. As a refresher, this is the phone rumored to be rocking Android, WiMAX, and pretty much every other spec line item you could possibly want for a date with destiny on Sprint later this year -- and while you can't make out much from the 40-second video, you can clearly make out the red earpiece grill we've seen in past pictures, suggesting that this isn't the similarly-equipped Incredible we've heard of for Verizon. Anyhow, care to get dinner and a movie sometime this Summer, Supersonic? Follow the break for the full video.

Update: ...and that was quick! Video's been pulled, but if it's any consolation, there's not much more to it than the screen grab above. We'll leave the video after the break just in case it comes back online.

Update 2: New video posted after the break! Yay! Also, commenters have astutely noted that there appears to be some sort of nav pad at the bottom of the phone, something the Supersonic lacks -- so perhaps this is the Incredible after all, or a third Android superphone out of HTC. Clearly, we're not complaining if that's the case.
Continue reading HTC Supersonic (or Incredible) spotted on video?

HTC Supersonic (or Incredible) spotted on video? originally appeared on Engadget on Thu, 25 Feb 2010 21:21:00 EST. We don't know what the Incredible is, but given its... well, incredible name, we can only assume it's going to be a beast -- possibly yet another name for the Dragon / Passion. Our source isn't sure whether Incredible is a go-to-market name or just something that's being thrown around internally, but frankly, it's just dorky enough so that we hope they stick with it.
HTC Incredible is coming to Verizon, better live up to its name originally appeared on Engadget on Fri, 18 Dec 2009 15:27:00 EST.
