According to a scan of The Retail Insider (we assume it's an in-company newsletter, we never worked for Best Buy) available over at Go Nintendo, all the Best Buys are going to be holding all of their available Wii units to sell on the weekend of December 17th. You can read the reasons why above, however we're still chalking this up to be a rumor at this point due to the typo in the last bullet point. What do you guys think?

  • Live shots of the Black Diamond $300,000 smartphone

We've managed to get our hands on some live shots of a prototype Black Diamond smartphone, a handset that's gained publicity not because of its feature set (WM5, 400MHz CPU, WiFi, quad-band GSM) or its design, but thanks to a $300,000 bank-busting pricetag and an exclusive five unit manufacturing run. Subtlety and style seems to be the main theme here, with the designers avoiding the obvious temptation to stick thousands of diamonds on the case. Click on for comparison shots with AXIA's EMXI 700, and for pictures of our lucky insider cradling the most expensive hunk of plastic he'll ever hold.

Not too long ago we were intrigued by some mysterious and confidential shots of a Pocket PC phone from a Russian company called ORSiO. Well, now the site that originally brought the phone to our attention has received some more detailed macro shots of the handset, presumably from the same pesky insider -- at least from the company's point of view. The device has been named as the n725 and packs 802.11b Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.0, along with a slightly less exciting FM Radio tuner and IR port, which is more or less in line with the other relatively uninspiring specs that we already knew about: quad-band GSM and EDGE, 2.7-inch QVGA display, 2-megapixel cam, 192MB internal flash, and a 524MHz XScale running on Windows Mobile 5.0. Unfortunately we have no idea about the phone's availability or the price, so for now you'll have to settle for the cheap, temporary satisfaction that staring at the new shots will give you.
