Um, okay? Straight out of the left-most corner of left field, software provider Bsquare has just outed Dell's newest netbook -- or so it seems. The same company that <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/03/25/flash-coming-to-android-courtesy-of-bsquare/">recently announced</a> that it was bringing Adobe Flash to Android has just revealed that it'll be doing <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/android+netbook/">likewise</a> for "Dell netbooks running Google's Android platform." Specifically, it'll be Flash Lite 3.17 making the leap onto these heretofore elusive machines (casually referred to as the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/18/dells-mini-inspiron-910-gets-specs-pics-and-potential-relea/">Mini Inspiron 910</a>, or <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Mini9/">Mini 9</a>, in the release), but details outside of that are mum. Consider our interest piqued. Full release is after the break.<br /><br /><strong>Update:</strong> Dell just pinged us with an adorably terse response: "The Bsquared news release erroneously mentioned Dell and is being recalled. Dell does not offer an Android based netbook." Well then.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/06/is-dell-cooking-up-an-android-powered-netbook/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Is Dell cooking up an Android-powered netbook?</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/06/is-dell-cooking-up-an-android-powered-netbook/">Is Dell cooking up an Android-powered netbook?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 06 May 2009 10:14:00 EST. Word is that Dell's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/mini+9/">Mini 9</a> is a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/05/dells-mini-9-tear-down-reveals-a-modders-playground/">modder's paradise</a>, rife with precious little alcoves in which to squeeze teeny-tiny new stuff. The confirmation: MyDellMini forum user Tom Beauchamp bought a USB GPS receiver (not much larger than a quarter) and snugly fit it inside his Mini's case. He's provided images and instructions so you, too, can illegally navigate with your notebook computer in the passenger's seat of your car. We can't recommend that sort of irresponsibility, but if you want to mod it just because you can, hit the read link for the instructions and images. Beware, of course, that a minimum amount of technical savvy is required to avoid breaking a perfectly good little laptop. Like that was ever going to stop you.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gps/" rel="tag">GPS</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/07/dell-mini-9-gets-snug-little-gps-hack/">Dell Mini 9 gets snug little GPS hack</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 07 Oct 2008 11:50:00 EST. It's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/03/wsj-dell-inspiron-910-mini-netbook-launching-tomorrow/">everything</a> but <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/19/more-pictures-of-dells-mini-inspiron-surface/">official</a>, but hopefully the image above will enable you to rest easy knowing that you'll soon be able to order yourself a Dell netbook starting at $349. The Dell Inspiron Mini 9 (we're assuming that's the final moniker) will apparently weigh in at 2.28-pounds, boast an internal WiFi module and pack an Intel Atom N270 processor. The baseline model ($349) will include <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/18/dell-shows-its-love-for-linux-rolls-ubuntu-8-04-out-to-systems/">Ubuntu Linux 8.04</a>, 512MB of RAM, a 4GB SSD and a black or white paint job. For $50 more, you'll get an 8GB SSD and a 0.3-megapixel webcam, while the $449 version throws in Windows XP, 1GB of RAM and a 1.3-megapixel webcam. C'mon Dell -- you're only <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/02/dell-confirms-inspiron-910-netbook-arriving-this-week/">fooling yourself</a> at this point.<br /><br />[Thanks to everyone who sent this in]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/04/leaked-flyer-reveals-pricing-configurations-for-dell-inspiron-m/">Leaked flyer reveals pricing, configurations for Dell Inspiron Mini 9</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 04 Sep 2008 00:16:00 EST. It's already confirmed <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/02/dell-confirms-inspiron-910-netbook-arriving-this-week/">for this week</a>. Now <em>The Wall Street Journal</em> is reporting that the Dell Inspiron 910 Mini netbook will be announced on Thursday the 4th courtesy of an eMail received from Box.net, an online photo and document storage service already seen bundled with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/07/creatives-vado-pocket-video-cam-gets-reviewed/">Creative's Vado Pocket Video Cam</a>. Apparently, Box.net services will "come pre-installed on the Dell Mini." A Dell spokeswoman confirmed that Dell is working with Box.net for online storage. A person familiar with the matter says that the Mini will likely sell for less than $400, run your choice of Windows or Linux (<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/22/dell-mini-inspiron-caught-running-ubuntu-in-the-wild/">Ubuntu</a>, is our guess), and sport a display slightly less than 9-inches. You know, all this service talk has us wondering if this will also be Dell's first laptop with its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/zing">Zing-based audio and video services</a> bundle. Fortunately, we'll know tomorrow.<br /><br />P.S. That image above is from <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/19/more-pictures-of-dells-mini-inspiron-surface/">these earlier leaks</a> and matches the keyboard configuration in <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/28/dells-inspirion-910-netbook-edges-a-bit-closer-to-release/">Dell's own support documents</a>. In other words, it's what we expect to see tomorrow.<br /><br /><strong>Update</strong>: Heh, so much for that image above. Dell has updated the <a href="http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?c=us&amp;dl=false&amp;l=en&amp;s=gen&amp;docid=5560589F51057D6BE040AE0AB7E139FD&amp;doclang=en&amp;cs=">support docs</a> again. See the new keyboard after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/03/wsj-dell-inspiron-910-mini-netbook-launching-tomorrow/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>WSJ: Dell Mini Inspiron 910 netbook launching Thursday</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/03/wsj-dell-inspiron-910-mini-netbook-launching-tomorrow/">WSJ: Dell Mini Inspiron 910 netbook launching Thursday</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 03 Sep 2008 03:01:00 EST. Dell's <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/inspiron910">Inspiron 910</a> / <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/miniinspiron">Mini Inspiron</a> hasn't exactly been <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/28/dells-inspirion-910-netbook-edges-a-bit-closer-to-release/">a</a> <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/22/dell-mini-inspiron-caught-running-ubuntu-in-the-wild/">secret</a> since we first <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/09/compal-8-9-inch-dell-laptop-coming-in-june-for-less-than-499/">heard about it</a> back in April, but it sounds like this baby bump is about to go from open secret to bouncing bundle of joy -- Dell just confirmed to InformationWeek that the netbook is scheduled to arrive later this week. That's all we know right now -- Dell reps called those <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/18/dells-mini-inspiron-910-gets-specs-pics-and-potential-relea/">earlier specs</a> we'd heard "pretty much rumor and speculation" -- but we'll go out on a limb and say we wouldn't expect anything less than an 8.9-inch screen and 1.6GHz Atom in there. Sorry if we killed the surprise, guys -- but remember, you can still wow us with the price tag.<br /><br />[Thanks, AC]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/02/dell-confirms-inspiron-910-netbook-arriving-this-week/">Dell confirms Inspiron 910 netbook arriving this week</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 02 Sep 2008 18:11:00 EST. You're looking at official Dell pics of its upcoming Inspiron 910 netbook nabbed from their on-line support docs. These images match <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/19/more-pictures-of-dells-mini-inspiron-surface/">the others we've seen</a> down to the key (look, no dedicated function keys) which pretty much confirms the mini laptop's final appearance. Now if Dell could just hit one of the rumored release dates we could all get back to pillaging market share from standard sized laptops.<br /><br />[Thanks, Mike and Hao]<br /><br /><a href="http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?c=us&amp;dl=false&amp;l=en&amp;s=gen&amp;docid=5560589F51057D6BE040AE0AB7E139FD&amp;doclang=en&amp;cs=">Read</a> -- keyboard<br /><a href="http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?c=us&amp;dl=false&amp;l=en&amp;s=gen&amp;docid=54BC0325A7F2D6A7E040AE0AB7E11837&amp;doclang=en&amp;cs=">Read</a> -- external optical DVD/CD drive<br /><a href="http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/dsn/en/document?c=us&amp;dl=false&amp;l=en&amp;s=gen&amp;docid=54BCD4281C153971E040AE0AB7E10507&amp;doclang=en&amp;cs=">Read</a> -- status LEDs<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/28/dells-inspirion-910-netbook-edges-a-bit-closer-to-release/">Dell's Inspiron 910 netbook limps a bit closer to release</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 28 Aug 2008 04:14:00 EST. At this point we've seen a ton of Dell's upcoming <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/inspiron910">Inspiron 910 / Mini Inspiron</a>, but until this thing hits the street for real it looks like our pal Mr. Blurrycam has a new favorite target. Here's the 8.9-inch netbook testing Ubuntu somewhere, with a far less ugly keyboard than <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/19/more-pictures-of-dells-mini-inspiron-surface/">last time</a> -- maybe next time it'll sprout some function keys. Two more, including a configuration screen, after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/22/dell-mini-inspiron-caught-running-ubuntu-in-the-wild/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dell Mini Inspiron caught running Ubuntu in the wild</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/22/dell-mini-inspiron-caught-running-ubuntu-in-the-wild/">Dell Mini Inspiron caught running Ubuntu in the wild</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 22 Aug 2008 05:34:00 EST. Dell's <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/miniinspiron">Inspiron 910</a> can't stay hidden, apparently -- check out these new, higher-res shots of the 8.9-inch netbook in the wild. Nothing spectacularly new here -- and we'd still like to see some locked-down specs on this thing -- but ooh, shiny. Check the power adapter after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/19/more-pictures-of-dells-mini-inspiron-surface/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>More pictures of Dell's Mini Inspiron surface</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/19/more-pictures-of-dells-mini-inspiron-surface/">More pictures of Dell's Mini Inspiron surface</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 19 Aug 2008 21:23:00 EST. The cats over at Gizmodo have gotten their eyes on some succulent and salacious photos of the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/09/compal-8-9-inch-dell-laptop-coming-in-june-for-less-than-499/">oft-rumored</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/07/15/evidence-mounts-for-august-eee-pc-carnage-with-299-dell-e-launc/">much-discussed</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/12/dell-e-series-netbooks-to-include-10-incher-today-we-hope-to-fi/">openly-desired</a> Dell "<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/29/dells-mini-inspiron-eee-pc-killer-revealed/">Mini Inspiron</a>" (or as it's now being called, the Inspiron 910) -- and they've shared with the world. In the pics you get to see that familiar pencil-pose along with a slew of insides and outs, including an up-close look at ports, keyboard, and guts. The specs look like they're right in line with those <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/12/dell-e-and-e-slim-revealed-taking-on-eee-and-air-in-one-fell-sw/">leaked materials</a> we had back in June, and the word is this little baby will be hitting shelves come August 22nd. Time to swing by the Coinstar machine.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/18/dells-mini-inspiron-910-gets-specs-pics-and-potential-relea/">Dell's "Mini" Inspiron 910 gets specs, pics, and potential release date leaked</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 18 Aug 2008 13:36:00 EST.
