Netflix has released a trailer for its creepy new film Velvet Buzzsaw. Written and directed by Dan Gilroy (Nightcrawler), it's set in LA's art scene and shows what happens when "art collides with commerce." The film features an all-star cast, led by Jack Gyllenhaal and Rene Russo, which includes John Malkovich, Toni Collette, Natalia Dyer (Stranger Things), Daveed Diggs (Blindspotting), Tom Sturridge (On the Road) and Zawe Ashton (Wanderlust).

Ubisoft's mission to bring another of its major franchises to the big screen has been given a boost after the company confirmed The Division movie's first big stars. As predicted last month, Jake Gyllenhaal has signed onto the project alongside Interstellar and Zero Dark Thirty actress Jessica Chastain. As agents, they'll combine to help restore a dystopian New York that has been decimated by a lethal strain of smallpox and has become host to powerful criminal gangs.

Despite its quirks, Ubisoft's The Division is already a cross-platform success with more than 9.5 million registered players generating hundreds of millions of dollars in revenue. While there's still considerable buzz around the franchise, the studio is reported to be developing a movie based on the game and may already have one big-name star behind it. Variety reports that Jake Gyllenhaal has signed on to the project, in what will be his second video game adaptation following the box office flop that was Prince of Persia.
