One of the unsung features of IOS 8 is the new Voice Text feature, which allows you to send quick voice messages via text. Experience the joy of leaving a voice mail without the threat of someone actually answering when you call. All jokes aside, Voice Text is a wonderfully convenient way to send quick messages when you don't have time to talk on the phone. To show just how useful the feature can be, Apple has released the following ad, once again featuring Jimmy Kimmel and Justin Timberlake. Its message: don't let difficult to spell names and words keep you from texting. You can view the ad below.

  • Apple releases two new TV ads for the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus

Along with its announcement for the iPhone 6 and the 6 Plus, Apple released two new television ads for the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus on its YouTube channel. One ad, "Duo," focuses on the outer aesthetics of the devices, showcasing the pair being used in a side-by-side comparison. The other ad, "Health," is more informative with details on the health features made possible by the new M8 processor and iOS 8. The voices in both ads are those of Justin Timberlake and Jimmy Fallon, who appear to be the new comic relief post-John Hodgman/Justin Long. I hope we'll be hearing more of them in upcoming ads.

  • MySpace relaunches with new design and Justin Timberlake all over it

A totally revamped and unrecognizable MySpace has just gone public, enticing new joiners with a track by Justin Timberlake -- who now owns a good chunk of the business alongside Specific Media. Based on the limited access teaser we saw back in September and the image above, this fresh incarnation of the social network retains the emphasis on music ("FREE Unlimited music and videos!") except with a more commercial (and actually less social) approach. In a similarly modern twist, the site lets you sign in with a Facebook or Twitter account as well as with your old MySpace details, which means there shouldn't be too many barriers to at least exploring it.

Fans of Justin Timberlake are quivering in their Ugg boots today for the release of the sci-fi thriller In Time. While waiting for the movie to start, they can also download a companion app to the movie for free. In Time - The Game depicts a "near-future world where time is a finite commodity that can be earned or taken away. Score points by sprinting, jumping and dodging waves of obstacles & assailants across often-hostile city streets on the way to your destination before your time runs out. Players can acquire valuable time by collecting 'time capsules,' or lose time if apprehended by the 'Minutemen.' Players can multiply their scores by giving time to those who most need it, but at the risk of the player's running out of time himself." The app features actual scenes from the movie, 16 missions, 30 unlockable achievements and Game Center integration for competing with friends. Just remember, though; the app is free today only. Don't run out of time!

  • Lady Gaga silences her Twitter account for charity

Sometimes these things write themselves! Digital Life Sacrifice is a charity stunt dreamed up by Alicia Keys with the oh-so-laudable goal of raising much needed cash for the Keep A Child Alive charity. How does this work? Several celebs, including Justin Timberlake, Usher, and the indefatigable Ms. Gaga herself will sign out of Facebook and Twitter on World AIDS Day (December 1) and stay out until they collectively raise one million dollars. Aside from the obvious (why the hell would anybody raise money to get Gaga tweeting again?) the very name Digital Life Sacrifice just begs us to ask the question: do these people even know the meaning of the word sacrifice?

  • Celebrity Nerds: Justin Timberlake -- secret Android lover?

Celebrity Nerds confirms what you always knew, deep in your heart of hearts: that stars are nerds like us. Send in your own confirmations of this fact right here. Oh, Justin Timberlake. Why does he insist on confusing us? Known BlackBerry user (plenty of photographic evidence to back this one up) JTimbs recently got our hearts all a flutter when he tweeted -- about Entourage, no less -- from the Twitter for Android app. Wait, what? Android? Yes, that's right. So, of course we've spent the last hour doing 'research' on the internet searching desperately for photographic evidence. What did we find? Just a photo culled from the top of Celebrity BlackBerry Sightings -- but this is no BlackBerry, friend. No, they've got it all wrong, if you ask us. Timberlake, known Sony spokesperson, appears to be holding an Xperia X10. Of course, that raises an even more troubling question -- Twitter for Android works only on devices with OS 2.1 and above, so the X10 running its current version of 1.6 wouldn't cut the mustard. Unless Justin is getting special treatment from Sony with an Eclair device? Our heart just skipped a beat. Update: Just to clarify, Timberlake's tweet did not come from the X10's Timescape app. As you can see right here, those tweets are identified as coming from "Sony Ericsson X10." [Thanks, Trucker boy]

  • Breakfast Topic: Real life Character Re-Customization

I first changed my name in high school. From Sakay, I flipped it over to Hugo, my given name taken from my father (and his father, and his father's father). In college, I went by Kensai, a name that stuck for a while since most of my current friends were from that period in my life. For a brief time an ex-girlfriend's circle of friends called me Saint (both from the Kensai and the movie Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead). When I entered the workforce, I swapped that over for the Zach that's on my byline now. That little idiosyncrasy has actually allowed me to remember people from where I met them. If someone says hi and calls me Sakay, for example, I know I met them in elementary school. I'm sneaky that way. It's character re-customization in real life. Or paid name change. Except I didn't actually have to fork $10 to get it done. We re-customize ourselves all the time, changing clothes more often (hopefully, anyway!) than our characters upgrade their gear. Some changes are more drastic -- losing or gaining weight, shaving our heads (it worked for Justin Timberlake), or even changing jobs or moving house. It's all part of how we continue to re-customize our lives. If we could re-customize ourselves as easily as we could the way we change our characters, what would you change and why? Or maybe you've just gone through a makeover recently -- from a haircut to the whole shebang -- tell us about it on this drab weekend morning. Now if only we could get real life Gold just as easily...

  • Givenchy and Justin Timberlake unveil "Play" cologne in MP3 player-esque bottle

Far be it from us to pretend that we know the thought process behind this one. Givenchy's latest fragrance for men, Play, was created in cahoots with Justin Timberlake, and comes in a PMP-style package. Is it a cute play on words, or a reference to the fact that Timberlake used to make music for a living? Hey -- as long as we're getting our Amyris Wood and Pink Pepper undertones, we really don't give a damn. Can't live without it? It's on sale now for somewhere between $55 and $75. [Via Switched]

Happy Hallow's End! Today we bring you a fluffy treat from TRiBViDs called The Grasshappa Chronicles. The most recent installment to the series, Episode 4, is linked above. (Previous episodes are 1, 2, and 3.) These movies are all treat, no trick, like the G.N.E.R.D.S. handed out these days by Innkeepers. A tasty, not too filling, but definitely an enjoyable confection featuring two dudes who pay the price for ripping off intellectual properties in previous episodes. The guys are goofy and have amusing songs running through their heads starring Justin Timberlake and Vanessa Carlton. Oh, and there's also a Hello Kitty reference for good measure.I think we all have some guilty pleasures like this in our movie-watching closets. My favorite guilty pleasures contain ram-a-lama ding-dong, Brando singing, and R.O.U.S.'s in them. I know some of you out there are Goonies freaks. Confess! And not just likenesses. Metaverse developer Millions of Us intends to market likenesses, hair-styles, catchphrases, dance moves, signature moves, clothing lines, furniture collections -- you name it -- based on well-known celebs all under the banner business name of Virtual Greats. These appearances and digital accessories would be sold in dozens of virtual worlds, though you'll probably see them in Gaia Online, Habbo and Second Life first. Deals have already been done with Justin Timberlake, Elvis Presley Enterprises, Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, Raven Symone, Marvel (for The Incredible Hulk), and Tila Tequila, and more are in the works.
