Yesterday, Epic launched a "mega sale," offering games at up to 75 percent off and additional $10 credits for purchases over $14.99. It looked like Epic was preparing to go head-to-head with the Steam Sale, which is scheduled to arrive at the end of June. But by the end of the day, fans noticed two titles mysteriously vanished from the Epic Store, and the price of another seemed to increase.

Step back in time -- to the future! Invisible, Inc. is a tactical espionage game set in a futuristic, corporate-controlled world where hacking is as cool as 1950s-style fedoras and trench coats. It launches on Steam for PC, Mac and Linux on May 12th, Klei Entertainment announced in a shiny new trailer today. Klei is the studio behind excellently quirky games like Don't Starve and Mark of the Ninja, meaning Invisible, Inc. is on track to be a superb experience. An in-progress version of the game has been available via Steam Early Access since last year, but now the full thing will be up for grabs, no bug reporting required. It's also headed to PlayStation 4, though that release date is still up in the air. Get a taste of Invisible, Inc.'s stylish, stealthy exploits in the new trailer below.

Joystiq has issues with not starving. It all started with those accursed turkeys when Don't Starve hit PS4 in January. Things got even worse when we tackled Reign of Giants with Klei's own Seth Rosen in June. This time? This time's going to be different. We won't starve now that we're together. Stay close, dear friends, when the dark and the turkeys and the beefalos come. We'll get through this. We're rocking an extra large stream of Don't Starve Together on Joystiq.com/Twitch starting at 2:30PM EST. The game's old hat for Alexander Sliwinski (@Sliwinski) but this will be the very first time Sinan Kubba (@SinanKubba) has played. Will Anthony John Agnello (@ajohnagnello) finally have his revenge? Maybe! Joystiq.com/Twitch broadcasts every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:00PM but we regularly stream at odd hours, giving goodies away and being weird, so follow us on Twitch to catch us when we go live. The wolves of the original Don't Starve and the massive creatures in the Reign of Giants will now be joined by that most deadly of predators: man. Don't Starve Together, the multiplayer expansion to Klei Entertainment's runaway indie hit, will enter Steam Early Access on December 15. Days before the winter solstice, Klei will add the "Frontier Pack" to Steam, which will be $19.99 for newcomers and $4.99 for those who already own the game.

Klei's Don't Starve is prepping for its multiplayer expansion with a multi-phase beta rollout. The company's 2 million beta keys for Don't Starve Together, which the studio showed off with some prototype footage a couple of months back, will begin unlocking co-op suffering for the studio's friends and family this week. Next up are the folks who registered for the beta. Klei will invite more players in once the studio is able to prove it can support the population with a strict diet of berries and roasted seeds.

  • Don't Starve Together is for people who 'just want to watch their friends burn'

Klei's cooperative Don't Starve expansion, Don't Starve Together, has the potential to bring you and your friends closer than ever before. That's when they'll least expect an axe in the face. Don't Starve Together is unique in that it encourages both cooperative and competitive play. Plopped down in the middle of the unforgiving wilderness, up to four players team up to build a camp, hunt wildlife and eke out a meager existence, strengthened by their bonds of friendship. The core Don't Starve experience can be much more forgiving, for instance, when you assign one friend to craft survival supplies while another goes and chops firewood. If you ran into any opposition alone and unprepared, you'd be in serious trouble, but with an armed buddy watching your back (and reviving you when you're overwhelmed), being stranded in the wilderness isn't so bad after all. If one of your teammates decides to choose the pyromaniac character class, though, you could be in for a world of hurt.

Don't Starve for me, soon on (E)Vita. The truth is Klei's dark realization of wilderness survival hits the Sony handheld on September 2 in North America and the day after in Europe, priced at $15 and 14 euros. It includes the Reign of Giants expansion that came to PS4 separately back in July, but at no extra cost. Despite that disparity, Klei's made the Vita version cross-buy; if you own the game on PS4 you unlock it on Vita, and vice-versa. Don't Starve isn't cross-play, though, so saves won't cross over between PS4 and Vita.

Although a trailer showing a pitch black screen may have been more apt considering its title, Klei Entertainment opted to show off the stylish gameplay of Invisible Inc. instead. Way to break immersion, folks! Check out the trailer after the break. Invisible Inc. (formerly known as Incognita) is a procedurally generated, turn-based stealth adventure. Though the game has been in Alpha testing for months, the next game from the Don't Starve dev is hitting Steam Early Access on August 19. While in early access Invisible Inc. will be available for $15, a $5 discount from its expected launch price.

Klei Entertainment has not just survived, but thrived, utilizing Steam's Early Access program with Don't Starve. Now the company will make its next game, Invisible Inc. (formerly known as Incognita), available through the service on August 19. The procedurally generated, turn-based stealth game has been available in Alpha from Klei for $20 (for two copies of the final game). Invisible, Inc. will be available on Steam for $15.99 during Early Access, shifting to $20 at launch.

The Don't Starve: Reign of Giants expansion stomps all over the PS4 next week, starting July 22 in North America and July 23 in Europe. The single-player DLC is priced $5 on PSN, while PS Plus members get to feast on a 10 percent discount at launch. PC players have been getting familiar with Reign of Giants over the last few months, while Vita owners can look forward to it as part of the upcoming port. Besides the eponymous giants, the content includes new characters, seasons and biomes to explore, as well as an extra save slot. If you fancy a quick walk among giants, you should watch the replay of our Reign of Giants livestream with Klei's Seth Rosen.

Klei Entertainment stressed its new footage of Don't Starve's mulitplayer expansion is of a "very early prototype," and everything in it is subject to change. It does, though, provide a look at the ghost mechanic in place for when players die in Don't Starve Together. The video shows one player bludgeoning another, with the poor victim turning into a ghost as a result. The ghost player can then float around and haunt stuff - with varied results - before reviving by haunting a meat effigy.

That turkey is still out there. Oh, I know he's still out there. Gobbling. Laughing at me in the dark as I struggle to build a fire and actually feed myself on Day 3. To hell with you, turkey! We're coming back in there, giants or no giants, and we will not starve! Joystiq's last stream of Don't Starve left a bit of a mark. Today will be different! We'll be streaming Klei Entertainment's recent expansion to Don't Starve, Reign of Giants, and it will be Alexander Sliwinski surviving out in the woods rather than Anthony John Agnello. Anthony will merely be hanging out in the safe, turkey-free chat. It's not just the Joystiq crew either! Klei Entertainment's own Seth Rosen will be on the line as well. We'll also be doling out Humble Bundle grab bags including Steam codes for Reign of Giants and a plethora of other goodies. It all goes down at 4PM EST right here on Joystiq and at Twitch.tv/Joystiq. • Don't Starve Together multiplayer expansion coming this summer

Klei Entertainment's single-player roguelike survival game, Don't Starve, will receive a free expansion that adds multiplayer options late this summer. While the developer noted some uncertainty on what the final version of the expansion will look like, Don't Starve Together is expected to have "most (if not all) the normal features in Don't Starve, balanced for multiplayer," and "potentially" new features. Klei believes that Don't Starve Together will "support 2-4 players simultaneously. Could be more, but we are aiming for 4 minimum." The expansion will be free for all current Steam or standalone PC players to download, though the price of the standard game will increase by $5 (to $19.99) once the alpha version of Together launches. Meanwhile, Klei just launched its single-player Reign of Giants DLC. Update: When asked about multiplayer support for the game's PS4 version, Klei tweeted that it would "like to do PS4 as well, but it's far away from knowing if it's possible." Don't Starve gets a lot more dangerous today with the official launch of the Reign of Giants DLC expansion, which has been available through Early Access since the beginning of April. Talking about Don't Starve pretty much ruins the experience, so we'll say the expansion adds new characters, new items, festive foliage and creatures. The expansion for the PS4 version is "on the way," according to developer Klei, so stay tuned. The Reign of Giants DLC is currently 10 percent off the regular price and is available for $4.50. The game, plus the expansion, is only $9.50. If you've yet to play it, you'll certainly get your money's worth out of this survival game. [Image: Klei Entertainment]

The dark, foreboding wilderness of open-world survival adventure Don't Starve just grew a bit more eerie with today's debut of the Reign of Giants DLC expansion. Once installed, players will find a Reign of Giants content toggle on the Don't Starve main menu. Activating this option enables the DLC content, and allows players to unlock new characters, new items, new seasons and new biomes. As you'd expect, these new regions of the game also bring with them new creatures who may serve as delicious meals, or the final straw straining your in-game sanity until your pixelated brain bursts into a kaleidoscope of swelling shadows and horrible beasts. Though today brings Reign of Giants to the PC, Mac and Linux incarnations of Don't Starve, those enjoying the game on PlayStation 4 will be waiting a bit for their version of the DLC. It's unknown how long this delay will be, but developer Klei Entertainment promises to reveal more info on the PS4 release soon. [Image: Klei Entertainment]

  • Invisible, Inc update comes in from the cold

Klei Entertainment's turn-based espionage game Invisible, Inc remains in alpha testing, but to whet players' appetites, the developer has cobbled together the above trailer to demonstrate the additions found in the game's latest update. Highlights of the update include a new 360-degree field of vision for agents, stronger guards and the addition of "augments." These special upgrades enhance an agent's abilities beyond normal human levels, but each occupies a permanent space in a player's augment cache, forcing tough decisions about which skills are most crucial for a virtual spy. On the other hand, this update also adds a tutorial to Invisible, Inc, which should make the spy game a bit less confusing. Full details on the update can be found on the Klei forums. Or, if you're totally sold on Invisible, Inc, you can join the game's ongoing alpha test by forking over $20. For that money, you'll be granted alpha access, the game's soundtrack and two copies of the final version of Invisible, Inc. [Image: Klei Entertainment]

Don't Starve and Mark of the Ninja developer Klei Entertainment launched its first iOS game this week, Eets Munchies, for $2.99. The puzzler is considered a re-imagining of Klei's previous PC game Eets, and challenges players with guiding a hungry armless rabbit-like creature through levels filled with obstacles, eating cake and sweets along the way. Eets' iOS version was revealed in March 2012. Eets first launched on PC in March 2006 before arriving on XBLA in the form of Eets: Chowdown in April 2007. Eets Munchies contains five worlds and dozens of preset puzzles, and also includes a built-in level editor, so players can create their own puzzles to share with friends. [Image: Klei Entertainment]

  • Don't Starve devours a million players, spawns DLC teaser

Witty, peculiar survival game Don't Starve is officially a big hit, as over a million people have now braved its madcap virtual wilderness, according to developer Klei Entertainment. "Well before the end of 2013 we had over one million Don't Starve players," Klei community manager Corey Rollins stated in an interview with Edge. "With PlayStation Plus, beyond promotion of being a featured game, a lot of people who maybe wouldn't have tried our game did, and really enjoyed it. Some of those people went on to check out the PC version as well, and would maybe be interested in the upcoming DLC." The DLC Rollins mentioned is titled "Reign of Giants." Scant information is available on the addition; the sum of what we know of Reign of Giants can be found in the above teaser. There's currently no word when Reign of Giants will debut. Beyond that add-on, Klei's future plans for Don't Starve involve bringing the quirky game to other platforms. "We're investigating a proper Vita version at the moment, but we're not quite sure yet," Rollins said. "Currently, a lot of people play Don't Starve: Console Edition using the PS4′s remote play, and really enjoy it. So we're looking into a proper Vita release." "As for iOS and mobile, that is something we've also been investigating and we think might work, but it's not at the front of our development priorities right now," Rollins added.

The agent formerly known as Incognita, the upcoming espio-sim from Mark of the Ninja and Don't Starve studio Klei Entertainment, is now Invisible Inc. Klei marked the change by re-releasing a trailer showcasing the game's 2.5D world and turn-based tactics. "After some focus testing, Invisible, Inc. was better received than the old 'Incognita,'" said Klei's Jason Dreger on the studio's forums. "Our focus of the design does not change in that it will still be a game of turn based tactical espionage." Klei announced what's now Invisible Inc. last summer before releasing a playable alpha in September, which players can access now via a $17 pre-order. The full game is covert for now, but remains due to slip into our lives later this year.

Imagine suddenly waking up in a strange forest, shorn of modern amenities like a smartphone or even a basic understanding of how your limbs are supposed to work. Now imagine trying to survive based on your wits alone. It would be horrific! But for anyone with a taste for shadenfreude who might be watching your struggles, it would probably be hilarious. Which is why Joystiq Streams is pitting Anthony John Agnello against Don't Starve on PlayStation 4 when he's never played it for a single second. Thrill as he desperately tries to figure out the controls quickly enough to live through the night! Gasp as he inevitably gets eaten by dogs! It all happens on the Joystiq Twitch channel at 4p.m. EST, Jan. 14. Alexander Sliwinski will be hanging out in the chat, relaying your questions, mirth, and barbed jeers to Anthony as he tries to figure out whether he's holding a pinecone or an acorn.
