Helena Harper's harmonious name isn't all she's got going for her -- she's also Leon Kennedy's buddy-cop partner in this November's cross-continental zombie-murder sim, Resident Evil 6. Capcom released the image you see of Ms. Harper above in the past few days, alongside a slew of new screens.

The announce of Resident Evil 6 stole the spotlight yesterday afternoon during Capcom's big 15th anniversary event in Japan, and the company delivered even more info on the game than the surprisingly lengthy trailer could offer. It turns out that Leon will be joined by a brand new, highly alliterative security worker named Helena Harper, while Chris Redfield's partner remains unknown. In non-human characters, the snarling beast seen in the trailer repeatedly (and above) is named "Javo," and is said to have an "even greater impact than the zombies." He gives us a Nemesis vibe, which is to say, "He looks and sounds terrifying," even though his name makes him sound like a barista. The third main protagonist also hasn't been named, and has only been referred to thus far as "the man who's told to save the world." From what we gleaned in the trailer, he'll only do so for a price. According to Andriasang's report of the Japanese event where the title was announced, Capcom also went into detail on Resident Evil Chronicles HD, Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, Resident Evil Revelations, and spoke about upcoming merchandise based on the series. Also, there are, like, a lot of Resident Evil games in production right now, in case that wasn't clear.

After seeing two RCPD officers get chased through the streets, vulnerable and injured in previous Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City vids, we finally see them meet their ultimate end in today's super long addition. Update: This post originally stated that Resident Evil 4 star Leon S. Kennedy was killed during the clip, but apparently our eyesight is just really bad today. As it turns out, it's a RCPD officer -- not Leon -- taking a bullet to the head at 2:41. Please accept our apologies!

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City certainly isn't Left 4 Dead, but I wouldn't blame you for confusing the two. ORC is, after all, a four player co-op zombie shooter, featuring a variety of zombie types that largely resemble what both Left 4 Dead games featured before it (a large tank-like zombie, a zombie who scurries on the ceiling and reels you in with his tongue, etc.). In fact, other than a third-person perspective and a Resident Evil landmark setting, I was getting some serious déja vu playing ORC. Except for one crucial point: it wasn't quite as fun as Left 4 Dead.%Gallery-125731%

After five long years of careful manicuring, your hair is finally, perfectly coifed -- just like Resident Evil 4's Leon S. Kennedy. You've got that devil-may-care attitude down, ammo clips holstered around each thigh, and you're all about saving the president's daughter. The only thing left? Fingerless gloves. Oh, and also Leon's not-so-cheap, replica bomber jacket, now available to pre-order directly from Capcom's Japan-only online store -- though you'll have to go through a proxy service if you live outside Japan. (Game Swag has listed some of them.) The e-Capcom store has dated the first shipments of the jacket for "early January," so you may want to start saving up the ¥26,040 (about $315, plus the proxy fee), um, like, probably a few months ago. Or maybe just scour your neighborhood for treasure chests? That's what Leon would do.
