BlizzCon: closing ceremony audio, including Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain
Well, BlizzCon is officially over, and folks will have to wait another year to experience it again. Hopefully by this time next year, however, both StarCraft 2 and the WoW expansion Wrath of the Lich King will be on store shelves, or in your hands. Until then we'll be waiting for the dribbles to trickle out of Blizzard with more information.But, all is not lost. They did send us out with a bang that included 30 minutes of fairly decent comedy with Jay Mohr, a performance by Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain (the highlight of the night of which a brief video appears above), and a pretty sweet set from Video Games Live, including the Diablo theme being played on a 12-string guitar. That was the best moment of the night, and makes us wonder even more when there will be some sort of a Diablo sequel.Check out the gallery below, which contains some new shots from the closing ceremonies. Oh sure. Blizzard may have announced Wrath of the Lich King, showed off demos of StarCraft II, and given us loads of exclusive time with the developers at BlizzCon... but all of that pales in comparison to the real reason we all had to attend BlizzCon: to see the Blizzard-band Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain perform! And for those of you who didn't make it out to California for BlizzCon this year, I offer this video as some small recompense. Enjoy!
Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain performing now!
Drysc announced earlier today that starting at midnight server time, Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain is performing at the new Darkmoon Faire location outside of Shattrath City. Don't be afraid if you've missed your server's performance time, because they will be performing at the top of every hour until BlizzCon is over.You don't need to be high level to attend if you can get a Warlock to summon you, but you do need The Burning Crusade.Happy BlizzCon Week everyone!Update: It seems that the concert has begun on some servers at 1am, instead of midnight and others not at all. The stage should be located at 36, 34 in Terrokar Forest, if you have a coordinate mod -- just outside of the southeast exit of the Lower City.Update2: Screenshot of the show after the jump. Metal band, Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain rocks rawks its World of Warcraft song, I am Murloc in today's video pick. if the video gets you pumped for WoW, there's a good chance you're already booked for BlizzCon, where the band will perform live on August 4. How could it not get you fired up? We don't want to blow all the surprises, but watch for the crotch-thrusting transitional effect. Classic. L70ETC at BlizzCon
The BlizzCon news is coming out in tiny, bite-sized pieces. This afternoon, we've learned that the Level 70 Elite Tauren Chieftain (last BlizzCon, they were calling themselves Level 60 Elite Tauren Chieftain -- but they've had plenty of time since then) will be playing at BlizzCon on Saturday night. And as a little preview of the upcoming concert, Blizzard has posted a music video of L70ETC playing their latest hit, I Am Murloc, complete with specially modeled in-game rock stars.
