Apple is testifying today in front of the House Judiciary Committee as part of hearing called "The Encryption Tightrope: Balancing Americans' Security and Privacy." It's an opportunity for the company to formally make its case before members of Congress. FBI director James Comey will testify alongside Apple SVP and general counsel Bruce Sewell. Apple released its introductory comments yesterday, but we expect that both the FBI and Apple will be subject to some pretty serious questioning regarding the fight that's been playing out in the media over the last few weeks. Follow along here for all of the courtroom drama -- it kicks off at 1PM ET today. And if you want to get caught up on the story thus far, just click here.

Now that LG has shown us the G5 and "Friends," it is Samsung's turn to take the stage at Mobile World Congress 2016. If last year's event in Barcelona is any indication, all signs point toward the Korean company prepping to reveal the Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge, its latest flagship smartphones. There's also chance we'll learn more about the new Gear S2 smartwatch, which comes with an electronic SIM card. Whatever it may be, we're here to bring you the news as it happens. The keynote starts at 1PM ET/10AM PT -- grab some popcorn and keep your eyes peeled to this post.

Intel's been running CES keynotes for some time now, and while they're rarely full of mind blowing product announcements, they never fail to be interesting. Typically, Intel stuffs its keynotes full of huge ideas and ambitious goals for the upcoming year. This year, expect to hear even more from Intel CEO Brian Krzanich about how it plans to make an impact in mobile, wearables and the Internet of Things. But, as always, we're hoping for a few surprises. I'll be liveblogging the entire shindig with Engadget's Nate Ingraham, so join us at 9:30 pm Eastern / 6:30pm Pacific for the festivities. Sony's big CES parade starts here. The company has leaned down in the last few years, and even turned to crowdfunding for some of its more unusual creations. That said, it's still got plenty to talk about. If it's not 4K, it'll be cameras, PlayStation and wearables. Yessir, we'll be there reporting from the throng of reporters and analysts. The show starts at 8pm ET, but we'll be warming up and complaining about the music right before it starts in earnest. Questions? Outrageous demands? Let us know!

A Samsung press conference is almost always an over-the-top, ostentatious affair, and today will likely be no exception. The event starts at 2PM PT / 5PM ET, and I'll be liveblogging all the announcements right here along with my esteemed colleague Chris Velazco. Since this is CES, we'll likely hear all about new TVs and home appliances, but we're hoping Samsung has some weird surprises in store for us as well -- or at least gives us a presentation that we'll all remember. Who can forget Michael Bay's bizarre and random appearance two years ago? Stay tuned here for all the news.

CES 2016's big day of press conferences starts now -- we'll be liveblogging LG's press conference when it starts at 8AM PT / 11AM ET. The company has already made a host of TV announcements, but we're sure it'll have more to share across its myriad of business units. How exciting those announcements will be remains to be seen, but we have our fingers crossed. Stay tuned: Chris Velazco and I will bring you all the details when things get underway.

Sony skipped its traditional August Gamescom conference this year, preferring the golden fall leaves of Paris to the sweltering summer heat of Germany. Today it's holding an event just outside of Paris to reveal what's next for PlayStation. Expect a big focus on PlayStation VR, some new games, and an update on upcoming titles like Uncharted 4, No Man's Sky, Dreams and WiLD. We're on the ground at La Grande Arche de la Défense, watching the sun set over Paris' financial district. After we pry ourselves away from this idyllic scene, you can join us at 6PM CET (1PM ET, 10AM PT) to follow Sony's big show from the comfort of our liveblog.

Hello, readers! By the time you read this, I'll be up in the air, on my way to beautiful California. Tomorrow Apple is holding its annual September press event -- aka, the one where it always announces new iPhones -- and I'll be reporting live from San Francisco's Bill Graham Civic Auditorium, along with Engadget's senior mobile editor Chris Velazco. Who knows? We may get to see some other stuff too, like a refreshed Apple TV or the mythical iPad Pro. Your guess is good as ours, but all will be revealed tomorrow at 1pm ET when the keynote begins. Bookmark this liveblog link and be sure to tune in then -- we'll give you up-to-the second coverage and then later we'll be getting hands-on with all the new goodies.

Sony's press events at IFA are the very model of efficiency, with nearly every division of the company announcing some new product in just under an hour. The highlight of the show is likely to be the the Xperia Z5, a premium device that was unfortunately leaked last week. Still, while the headline act may not be a surprise, there should still be plenty of exciting things for the company to whip out on stage. If that sounds like fun, then come back to this page at 4:00pm CEST / 3:00pm GMT / 10:00am ET / 7:00am PT for the madness to begin. [Image Credit: AP Photo/Steffi Loos]

It's time once again for Intel's turn at the spotlight. Today is the first day of Intel's Developer Forum 2015, and if CEO Brian Krzanich's blog post is any indication, we actually have a pretty good chance to hear about some interesting news beyond the usual microprocessors at the show. He called out the increasing emphasis on immersion in computing, touting the ability for computers to now see (perhaps in reference to its RealSense tech) and hear us better than ever before. He also mentioned the interconnectedness of everyday devices (IoT anyone?) and the rise of wearables, so we'll likely hear more news about those two topics too. Plus apparently there'll be a "live BMX demo" at today's keynote. To find out about what exactly all this is about, come back here at 12 p.m. ET for our liveblog of the opening event!

Gamescom doesn't even officially start until tomorrow, but Microsoft is in Cologne early to show off everything Xbox and Windows 10. Chances are we'll see a lot of footage from upcoming exclusives like Quantum Break, and perhaps some new software tricks for the Xbox One like the oft-rumored DVR function. Other than that, your guess is as good as ours -- will we get pricing and a release date for HoloLens? What t-shirt will Phil Spencer wear under his lovely blazer? Will someone talk way too long about a car slowly descending from the ceiling? Tune in at 4PM CEST (10AM ET / 7AM PT) to find out.

  • We're live from Motorola's 'Relationship' event!

Weeks of leaks and an early Moto G unveiling in India didn't keep Motorola from putting on a show here in New York (oh, and London too). And why should it? We're expecting to see a brand new Moto X take the stage this morning, and if we're really lucky, we might catch a glimpse of a shiny new Moto 360 to go with it. The most puzzling angle of all is Motorola's insistence that today will change our "mobile relationships," but hey -- it's still early and there's plenty of time for bizarre, corporate rationale. Bring it, Moto.

Ubisoft's E3 blitz is a curious mix of triple-A titles, like Assassins Creed, as well as, er, Raving Rabbits and Just Dance iterations. It's also typically had a spadeful of spectacle thrown into the mix. And that's probably a very good reason to liveblog it -- so we're going to. Expect more information on Ubisoft's premier titles, more information on Rainbow Six: Siege. It all starts at 2:45PM PT, or 5:45PM ET. Come on over and join us!

Welcome to E3 2015! Today is Day Zero and we have a lineup of major showcases ahead of us, starting with Microsoft's Xbox press conference at 9AM PT. We expect to see new footage and details about Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Forza 6 and a ton of smaller, though no less impressive, games. Plus, this conference comes hot on the heels of Oculus' announcement that all Rift virtual reality headsets will ship with an Xbox One controller and feature Windows 10 integration, including the ability to play Xbox One games in the Rift, in a simulated cinema, via Xbox-to-Windows streaming. Naturally, there will be surprises galore. And it starts at 9:30am PT. Join us!

It feels like we were just here, and in a way we were: Just three months after unveiling the new MacBook, Apple is back at the Moscone Center in San Francisco to kick off its annual Worldwide Developer Conference. That means we're back at Moscone too, ready to liveblog whatever it is the company has up its sleeve this time. The question, as always, is what. We're not really due for any new hardware this time of year, save for a possible 12-inch iPad and Apple TV refresh (and even that's supposedly not happening). We also expect to see TV and music streaming services at some point, though we're not 100 percent sure Apple will be ready to announce either just yet.

The stage is set, the Moscone Center is tricked out with leopard print Androids, and Google I/O is just about to start. You know the drill here: The first order of business is an hours-long keynote address that'll show us exactly what Google's been working on behind closed doors these past few months and what we can expect to play with in the future. Android M? More insight into Android Pay? VR announcements? It seems like this year's show is really going to have it all. We've got a little more time before the keynote kicks off, so hang tight, thumb through our I/O preview for as a quick refresher, and stay tuned for more shortly. May 28, 2015 12:30:00 PM EDT Don't miss out on all the latest news and updates from Google I/O 2015. Follow along at our events page.

Earlier this year, almost every smartphone maker revealed a flagship model at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. But not LG. The South-Korea based company has been relatively quiet since its introduction of the G Flex2, which was back at CES 2015. Today, though, LG is ready to announce the G4 in an event that's taking place simultaneously across different parts of the globe. For our part, we're in New York City and we'll be bringing you the action as it happens, so stay tuned -- the keynote's set to begin at 11:00AM ET.

When Apple announces it's going to hold a "spring forward" event the day after daylight saving time begins, that can only mean one thing: We're going to hear more about the famous Apple Watch before it goes on sale next month. Actually it means something else too. A few sleep-deprived Engadget editors have made the trek to San Francisco to cover the keynote live, because you know a lost hour of sleep ain't gonna stop us. And by all accounts, it should be a pretty newsy day indeed. I mean, just think of all the things we don't know about the Apple Watch: its battery life, fitness features, what day it's going on sale and how much that fancy gold edition is going to cost. We're here for answers, folks, and we suspect we'll know a lot more by the time Tim Cook leaves the stage today. For now, just settle in and leave the hard work to us: bringing you all the news as it's breaking. March 9, 2015 1:00:00 PM EDT
