The final season of 'Longmire' hits Netflix on November 17th
Netflix may have saved popular crime series Longmire after A&E cancelled it in 2014, but every cowboy has his last ride. The streaming service has announced that the sixth and final season debuts on November 17th. A trailer for the final act depicts Sheriff Walt Longmire considering taking off the badge for good and being forced to confront five seasons worth of criminals and past decisions. Based on the clip, it looks like this final installment will be jam-packed with shootouts and suspense. When A&E cut Longmire, the show was reportedly the most-watched scripted series of all time on the network. However, the show was mostly popular among older viewers -- and those of us with old souls. In the end, Netflix revived the series starting with season 4 and saw fit to extend the story for two more seasons. If you're not familiar with Longmire, the show chronicles the life of a Wyoming sheriff who is trying to balance his personal life, relations with a local Native American tribe and constant criminal activity all while searching for his wife's killer. The series is based on the book by Craig Johnson and stars Robert Taylor in the lead role alongside Lou Diamond Phillips, Katee Sackhoff (Battlestar Galactica) and a host of others. It's definitely worth a watch if you're into police/crime dramas, and you've got plenty of time to binge the first five seasons before the sixth begins streaming next month.

You won't have to wonder about when Netflix will start streaming much of its exclusive and original programming -- the company has provided scheduling for seemingly all of it in one shot. To begin with, it's renewing the weird-yet-familiar cartoon BoJack Horseman for a third, 12-episode season that will arrive in 2016. Can't wait that long? Longmire, the rescued A&E crime series, will make its Netflix debut on September 10th of this year, while a documentary about Keith Richards, Under the Influence, is due on September 18th. There are a slew of comedy specials arriving between August 14th (Demetri Martin) and December 18th (Mike Epps). Aziz Ansari's comedy series Master of None will show up on November 6th, and Chelsea Handler is hosting a four-movie documentary series that's "coming soon."
Netflix picks up fourth season of popular A&E series 'Longmire'
Fans of A&E's Longmire were pretty vocal when the network announced it would part ways with the series after a massive cliffhanger at the end of season 3. Well, the show will live on at the hands of Netflix. The streaming service nabbed the rights to the fourth season that's set to include ten episodes arriving in 2015. As Deadline Hollywood reported back in August, the show's demographic is much older than most A&E shows, but Longmire had the highest viewership of any scripted series on the channel. If you aren't familiar, the plot centers around rural Wyoming sheriff Walt Longmire and his crime-fighting chronicles based on the novels of Craig Johnson -- including a series-spanning search for his wife's killer. The set of new episodes will air in the US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand when they stream next year.
