During the Tokyo Game Show Namco Bandai announced a new game in the Macross series called Macross 30. The game will launch some time in 2013.The lone detail known about the game is that its theme song will be sung by Haruka Chisuga, the winner of the 2012 "Miss Macross 30" competition. One of our readers rightfully asked why we post so much information on Japanese games. The truth of the matter is, Japan just gets more games than us. Games like Gundam are system-sellers on that side of the Pacific. The upcoming Macross game will also undoubtedly do very well. While most of us will never have a chance to actually play these titles (lest we import), at least we can take some comfort that PSP is doing incredibly well in Japan? Check out this new promotional video to check out some hot mech-on-mech action.

Twenty-three new screenshots of Macross Ace Frontier have been gathered over at PSPHyper. Some information on the game has been released as well. Contrary to what was reported earlier, the game will allow you to pilot a Variable Fighter from all five works of the Macross series. More than 30 different characters will make an appearance in the game, with each pilot and mech containing their own upgradeable attributes to help you prepare for the 80+ missions planned. A animated gif showcases a "3-Stage Transformation," which will be done with the analog stick. "Characteristics" from the anime will act as aspects in the game, such as "Mechanism," "Love" and "Song." For more details and screenshots, take a look here.

The game will include mechs from Macross, Macross Plus, and Macross 7. Currently, the game is 60 percent complete; glad to hear Art Dink is going to work their butts off to pull off that remaining 40 percent in time for autumn.
