TUAW TV Live: A Rose by any other name
Welcome back for another hour of TUAW TV Live madness. Today, my guest in our virtual asylum is none other than TUAW Talkcast "host with the most" Mike Rose. I'm sure we're going to have some interesting things to talk about, like the controversial hiring of Adobe CTO Kevin Lynch to join Apple as the new VP of Technology. Below, you'll find a Ustream livestream viewer and a chat tool. The chat tool allows you to participate by asking questions or making comments. You'll be watching the show in glorious HD! Good morning, afternoon, or evening, depending on what part of the world you're coming in from! Today we're going to be talking about blogging tools on TUAW TV Live. I consider personal journals to be a kind of self-blog, so those tools will be covered as well. Of course, I can't use every blogging app out there, so I'm looking forward to hearing what the denizens of the chat room have to share. I'll also have a special guest on the show today -- former Cylon sensation Mike Rose. Below, you'll find a Ustream livestream viewer and a chat tool. TUAW TV Live at 5 PM ET: We look back at 2010, make predictions for 2011
For the last TUAW TV Live of the year, I've decided I want to bring in the big guns -- my fellow TUAW bloggers. You get to hear us just about every Sunday night, but you don't often see us in action. I'm going to tempt fate and try to bring Megan Lavey, Mike Schramm, Mike Rose (tentative) and more into a Skype 5 video chat. What are we going to talk about? The past year, like the biggest Apple stories of 2010, the best products and the worst nightmares. We'll also talk about what we think is coming up in 2011 that will be exciting and new -- will there be a killer product that nobody has thought about? Will the Mac App Store reinvigorate the development world for Mac software? You can join in as well through the Ustream chat tool. Ask the panelists questions, make comments and discuss our points with other people in the chat room. As we do every week, we invite your comments, your questions, and your insights into what's going on in the world of Apple. It's a busy media afternoon for Mike Rose; he'll be talking iPad live on Fox Business News at about 2:20pm Eastern today... along with a real, glass-and-unicorn-tears iPad. FBN is broadcast in HD on a cable or satellite system near you. Fox News's online-only feed The Strategy Room will also be hosting an iPad special edition of Gadgets and Games with Clayton Morris this afternoon from 3-4 pm. Scheduled guests include the Chicago Sun's Andy Ihnatko, cnet TV's Natali Del Conte, NPD's Ross Rubin, Daring Fireball's John Gruber, Macworld's Jason Snell, and Mike. Hi there, TUAW readers; I'm thrilled to be the newest blogger in this well-appointed stable. Over the past 15 years I've been a systems integrator, IT manager, writer, editor and online producer and through it all I never quite escaped the unofficial title of "the Mac guy" -- so clearly I wasn't trying very hard. While this is my second go-round at an AOL subsidiary (I worked on the original Entertainment Weekly launch on the service), it's my first chance to write about my love of all things Mac, and I can't wait to get rolling. I'm looking forward to lots of wonderful feedback!
