It's been a pretty long while since we heard anything from MPIO -- so this is certainly good news. The V7 -- a 3-inch PMP which will apparently boast a (possibly capacitive) touchscreen LCD, an accelerometer, and an FM radio, at a thickness in the neighborhood of 10.5mm. We also know that it'll come in both 4GB and 8GB varieties -- but specs beyond this are sadly absent. We'll see what else we can dig up for you, but look for it to run ₩129,000 for the 4GB model and ₩159,000 ($109 and $134, respectively) for the 8 when it launches on Korea on October 26th. MPIO's many PMPs may not always turn heads, but it looks like the company has done alright for itself with its new V10 player, which boasts a 3-inch WQVGA touch screen display and some all around decent specs. That includes 8GB of storage (with an SD card slot for expansion), an FM tuner, TV output, and support for just about every audio and video format you could ask for, with Windows CE 5.0 serving as the basis for it all. No word on pricing or availability just yet, but you can catch a glimpse of it in video form by hitting up the link below.

Last seen struttin' its stuff at IFA, MPIO's stylish MG200 is making waves again thanks to the price tag and release date it's now carrying along. Just to bring you back up to speed, this thing features a 128 x 128 resolution OLED display, FM tuner, a voice recorder, rechargeable Li-ion good for 18- / 4-hours or so (audio / video playback) and support for WMA, MP3, and MTV file formats. Now, on to the good stuff: 1GB and 2GB versions will both land on December 1st for ¥7,980 ($72) and ¥9,980 ($90), respectively, while the 4GB unit will arrive sometime before the year's end for ¥12,980 ($118).

  • MPIO's MO100 DAP takes a note from Grundig

MPIO's MO100 doesn't have a whole heck of a lot going for it, and interestingly enough, neither does Grundig's MPixx 2000. Of course, that could be because they're likely the exact same player save for the branding. Just look for yourself -- you'll notice the same 1.8-inch 160 x 128 resolution display, MP3 / WMA / SMV / JPEG / BMP format support, FM tuner and real-time recording as found on the Grundig, and in case you needed any additional proof, the MO100 arrives in 1GB and 2GB flavors, too. Nevertheless, it still features USB connectivity, around 12-hours of continuous playback and looks a touch nicer in that blue motif, but don't expect anything revolutionary for obvious reasons.[Via AnythingButiPod]

Keepin' things fresh in Berlin is MPIO, which has apparently unveiled not one, but five new media players during IFA. Up first is the MG200, which looks to tout 2GB of flash storage, an SDHC expansion slot, 1.5-inch OLED display, an FM tuner, and support for MP3, WMA, and WMA-DRM. The MG300 steps it up by including a 2.4-inch QVGA screen, 4GB of capacity, and the ability to handle AVI, JPEG, and BMP files in addition to the aforementioned formats. The diminutive MD100 plays nice with MP3, WMA, and OGG files, boasts an FM tuner and lasts up to 60-hours with the LCD flipped off, while the 2GB OG21 rocks a 1.8-inch screen and also does video. Bringing up the rear is the OG23, which packs 8GB of space, a QVGA display, and SDHC support to boot. Per usual, mum's the word on pricing and availability, but click on through for a few more snapshots of the group.[Via AnythingButiPod]

While a myriad of companies battle it out to sell you on multifaceted converged devices, MPIO is staying in tune with the basics on its ML300. Checking in at 29- x 66- x 19.5-millimeters, this minuscule digital audio player boasts a simple display, supports MP3 / WMA formats, touts an FM tuner, and operates around 10-hours on a single AAA cell. Additionally, it includes a voice and FM recorder, USB 2.0 connectivity, and seven equalizer pre-sets. Reportedly, the ML300 will come in both 1GB and 2GB flavors, and while hard pricing deets weren't readily available, such a stripped down unit ought not break the bank.[Via TheMP3Players]

MPIO's MG100 digital audio player wasn't all that remarkable when it was only available in 1GB and 2GB versions, but the company seems to think they have a winner, now bumping the player up to a full 4GB. Otherwise, the player appears to be unchanged, with the same 176x132 screen, built-in FM tuner, and support for the always-popular MTV video file format in addition to the usual MP3 and WMA audio formats. No word on price, but we wouldn't expect it to demand too much of a premium over the $165 the 2GB version cost.[Via Akihabara News]

While it's been a hot minute since we've seen the tried and true brushed aluminum look exemplified in a DAP, MPIO is apparently prepping its MG100 (formerly dubbed the FG300) for release. Not deviating too far from its other stylish units, this portable media player reportedly houses 1GB or 2GB of internal flash memory and features voice / line-in recording, an FM radio, and even "adjustable playback speed" to turn even those slow jams into a chipmunk remix. It'll also play back video files in the MTV format, and while prices haven't been confirmed just yet, we're hearing that the 1GB rendition will demand about €99 ($130), and the 2GB variety will require around €125 ($165). So if you're itching for more details about the forthcoming player, be sure and hit the read link for a bevy of glamour shots.[Via DAPReview]

  • MPIO's latest DAPs: FL500 and FY800

They make 'em small and target metrosexuals and now they've got weird all locked up to boot. We're talkin' MPIO out of South Korea of course, and you're looking at the new FL500 MP3 playin' doorstop up top and FY800 slimster pirouetting below. Both devices bring an FM radio, support MP3, DRM'd WMA and ASF playback (apparently dropping the OGG Vorbis seen on other MPIOs), and work in USB mass storage mode for easy drag-n-drop access without the need for additional media software. The FL500 weighs just 24.5-grams and features a 3-line display with some old school analog controls with clip 'round back for belt riding action. The 2GB version will set you back €99/$126 for a design which, well, is starting to grow on our heavily pierced, goth interns. Also announced is the FY800 which measures in at 9.8-mm slim and packs a top-loading SD card slot, 4 line display, and up to 2GB of storage for €80/$101. Not bad, you could certainly do worse.
