Honda has shown an affinity for electric cars as of late, but what about the motorcycle crowd? Don't worry, you'll get your fix soon. The automaker has unveiled prototypes for both the CR Electric dirt bike (above) and the Benly Electric delivery scooter (below), offering a peek at how it will approach emissions-free transportation on two wheels. Honda didn't dive into the specs, but the CR Electric appears based on the CRF450 and uses a Mugen-developed motor along with Showa inverted forks.

  • Fight your sense of right and wrong with these 10 odd mash-ups

We realize some people have fantasies and, thanks to the internet, they have an outlet. But some things are so sacred, so untouchable, that they should never be tampered with. We bring this up because this list of ten crazy, unauthorized fighting game mash-ups created with M.U.G.E.N. is just plain disturbing. Never would we have wanted to see Homer and Peter Griffin team up to battle Scorpion and Sub-Zero -- both teams are mortal enemies! Nor would we have wished to see Wolverine take on Mike Tyson or Ronald McDonald and Colonel Sanders throw down against Ryu and M. Bison. We're all for enemies putting aside their differences and finding friendship, but it's really skewing our sense of right and wrong here, guys!

It's actually a character created for Mugen by PiNPOiNT -- the same guy who created the Castle Crashers costume, incidentally. Confused by all this Castle Crashers Baby Give-away talk? Then do yourself a service and get learned about all the exciting Castle Crashers launch events we have planned.

  • M.U.G.E.N. on the DS is very finite

A coder named Antonio Niño Diaz has released an extremely early DS version of the M.U.G.E.N. 2D fighter creation system (named for the Japanese word for "infinity"). How early? Well, right now it's just two Jump Super Stars-style Narutos in one environment. You can make one of the Narutos walk, punch, and jump, and you can make the other one move left and right with the shoulder buttons. It's a far cry from the insanity possible in the PC engine, but it's an exciting start. We aren't sure if this is going to turn into a full-scale M.U.G.E.N. implementation (able to make Street FIghter-like games and platformers using user-designed characters) or limited to Jump Super Stars-type gameplay. We'd be happy with either![Via DCEmu; thanks, craig!]

var digg_url = 'http://www.digg.com/nintendo/NES_heroes_vs_1_1'; In this video, made using the M.U.G.E.N. fighting game creation engine, some of gaming's best and brightest (and most cheetah/man hybrid-like) indulge in a little tourism, taking on the iconic first level of Super Mario Bros. As each of them (except for Arthur) learns, Mario's job isn't as easy as he makes it look! Each character in turn, from the Spelunker to the Vic Viper, attempts the level, and fails due to the rules governing their own abilities. All the while, the streaming comments from Niconico (Japan's Youtube equivalent) users fill the top of the screen with "wwwwwwwwww" (equivalent to "lol"). It's hilarious until a bizarre Internet meme intrudes -- at which point it becomes hilarious and kind of baffling.[Via NeoGAF]

Before your head explodes, no, this game isn't a planned release, commercial or non-commercial, for the DS. Card Sagas Wars is a homemade PC project created with M.U.G.E.N, a "freeware 2D fighting game engine." The music and backgrounds have been ripped from a variety of popular games, but it looks like the character sprites have been redrawn for a consistent (and totally awesome) look. If anything, Card Sagas Wars' developers are ambitious, setting out to include a collection of playable characters that would put even Super Smash Bros. Brawl to shame, its posted list of 995 "Blue Series" cards ranging from Killer Instinct's Cinder to Castlevania's Soma Cruz. A demo with four playable fighters is currently in the works, but no concrete date has been set for its release. You can see an older, less epic trailer for Card Sagas Wars past the break.
