While it doesn't quite hit the same levels as NEC's 26-inch MultiSync monitor, the company's new 24-inch LCD2470WVX model looks like it should still satisfy quite a few graphics pros all the same. As you'd expect, this one boasts a 1920 x 1200 resolution, along with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, a 5 ms response time, and a 400cd/m2 brightness rating. Also, as with some other NEC displays, this one boasts the company's trademark Ambix dual analog and digital input technology, as well as its NaViSet software, which'll let you tweak the monitor's settings without having to actually reach out and touch it. You can also apparently expect good off-axis viewing, and minimum clutter, thanks to the monitor's cable management system. No word on price just yet, but NEC says it'll be "affordable."

NEC's latest LCD displays have more business on a video-wall demonstration than in your living room, but who said having a tile matrix of displays in your game lounge was a bad idea? The 20 series commercial LCD lineup consists of a 40-inch MultiSync LCD4020 and 46-inch LCD4620, both of which feature NEC's newfangled CV12 pixel technology. Hailed as the first displays to pack chevron-shaped pixels into a large-format LCD, it also delivers twice the contrast of traditional PVA panels, increases brightness and viewing angles, and minimizes off-angle color shift. Each touts a 1,366 x 768 resolution, 1,200:1 contrast ratio, ten-millisecond response time, and uber-thin bezels that come in "five times thinner" than current competitors. Don't count on these niche LCDs to come cheap, though, as you'll be laying down around $4,400 for the little guy and upwards of $6,300 for the 46-incher.

NEC just kicked out five new professional MultiSync monitors which do their best to mimic the specs of their 25.5-incher out since January. Of course, any MultiSync panel is interesting, especially the new 22-inch LDC233WXM (¥56,500 / $473), 20-inch LCD203WXM (¥41,500 / $348), and 19-inch LCD193WM. However, as Samsung told us yesterday, it's all about the 24-inch now. No LED back-lighting here folks, but NEC's (¥186,900 / $1,566) LCD2490WUXi does pack the same H-IPS LCD panel, 12-bit look-up tables, and embedded circuitry found in its bigger brother. Likewise, it brings a 1920 x 1200 (WUXGA) resolution, 800:1 contrast ratio, 400cd/m2 brightness, and 178-dgree viewing angle only with additional jacks this time: 3x DVI-D (HDCP), 1x DVI-I (HDCP), and 1x D-Sub15. The lesser spec'd (¥129,800 / $ 1,088) LCD2470WNX sports a 1920 x 1200 pixel, 24-inch S-PVA LCD and 2 HDCP-enabled DVI-D jacks with a D-Sub15 thrown in for grins. All hitting Japan on April 24th. Check the entire lineup after the break.

Although NEC already went blue earlier today on its new LaVie L laptop, the firm's 26-inch MultiSync 2690WXi widescreen monitor is holding down the ever-trendy white / silver motif. Getting a bit of facetime at Focus on Imaging 2007, the expansive display looks to be a match made in heaven for Mac users who don't feel like springing for any of Apple's own offerings, and is aiming at the eagle-eyed photographer who appreciates color accuracy as much as any specification on a display. The unit purportedly offers up 400 cd/m2 brightness, 178-degree viewing angles, 800:1 contrast ratio, seven-millisecond response time, VGA / DVI inputs, and support for wall mounting as well. It was noted that an elusive "professional" rendition was also on display, alongside quite a few competing EIZO monitors targeting the shooting set, but even the "lower-end" 2690WXi will reportedly demand a stiff £868 ($1,700) for all its color-perfecting ways.

If you liked that 25.5-inch H-IPS panel from Mitsubishi we hit up a few weeks ago then check this professional panel from NEC. While they share most of the specs -- 1920x1200 (WUXGA) resolution, 800:1 contrast ratio, 400cd/m2 brightness, 178-dgree viewing angle, and 2x HDCP-capable DVIs plus one D-Sub15 input -- the MultiSync LCD2690WUXi features an embedded integrated circuit with 12-bit look-up tables (i.e., gamma correction) for even smoother gradients. Hell, the panel also delivers a broad color gamut at 91% NTSC and even pivots 90-degrees to get your bigzz portrait on. Ideal for graphic design, photo re-touching or other professional uses. And believe us, at ¥239,400 (about $2,036) you'll be more than happy for the boss-man to cover the cost. Expected to hit Japan on 12 January of the new year. [Via Impress]

The monitor also sports a headphone jack, "NoTouch auto adjust" color correction, and a built-in power supply. If you're looking for a well spec'd LCD with a mighty respectable $269.99 pricetag, you can pick this bad boy up right now.
