Another week at home, and at least there are a few worthy options to watch. After a lengthy gap, Netflix's Ozark will pick up season three with the plot advanced six months from where we last visited the characters. On CBS All Access things are wrapping up for season one of Star Trek: Picard, and this week is also the season finale of Terriers 2, aka Stumptown. One thing to keep an eye on for PS4 and Switch owners is the potential debut of Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. The classic game is supposed to debut in "early 2020" on the platforms, and briefly appeared on Sony's official release list -- we'll see if it actually drops this week. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

Other than not-sports? With many of us spending more time at home this week/month than we'd planned, it's probably time to dig into one's backlog of shows or games. But if you're up for something new then there are a few choices. For gamers, Half-Life: Alyx is arriving on PC, if you've managed to secure compatible VR hardware, as well as Animal Crossing: New Horizons on Switch, MLB 20 for the PS4 as well as Doom Eternal and Doom 64 on multiple platforms. Westworld continues after a premiere that looked as impressive as ever, and I'm definitely going to take a look at the Juan Manuel Fangio documentary on Netflix. Still, the most intriguing option on my list is the anime spin-off of a Netflix sci-fi series, Altered Carbon: Resleeved Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).

This set of investigations from producer Alex Gibney will look into Jared Kushner, Wells Fargo and the 1MDB banking scandal. On Blu-ray, there's Uncut Gems, and gamers can check out Nioh 2 on PS4, or a big State of Decay 2 update on Xbox One and PC. This week there's a Democratic debate on Friday, but we may have to wait that long to find out the results of the Iowa Caucuses. Other made-for-TV events include Apple and Ubisoft's premiere of a new show for TV+. Mythic Quest: Raven's Banquet is a comedy about a team of videogame developers working on a popular game, and all nine episodes will be released at once on Friday. Otherwise, Brooklyn Nine-nine is back on NBC, Netflix is premiering a new comic book adaptation called Locke & Key, and there's a Dark Crystal video game. There are a flood of new options on streaming, from comedy specials on Amazon Prime, to Netflix's Aaron Hernandez documentary to the season finale of M. Night Shyamalan's Servant on Apple TV+. Two of the highlights are part two of YouTube's Robert Downey Jr.-hosted docu-series on AI, and season two of Sex Education on Netflix. Our last collection of listings for 2019 looks into the new year, where we'll dive into another season of Doctor Who. Blu-ray and videogame releases largely take the week off, but there's still going to be a lot of new stuff on streaming. Meanwhile, former Sherlock and Doctor Who showrunner Steven Moffat is releasing a new Dracula series on Netflix this weekend. Netflix's controversial Messiah series arrives this week, as well as the premiere of its weekly reality show The Circle that's adapting a popular UK show for its worldwide audience. In a blend of social media and the Big Brother show format, contestants all live in the same apartment building, but never meet in person. Instead they interact via profiles that don't have to represent who they really are, all in order to become the most popular influencer and win the game. If you prefer comedy, Amazon Prime has a new special from Ilana Glazer, while Netflix has prepared its second collection of standup performances titled The Degenerates. 12.23.2019

The holiday is throwing a wrench in this week's TV schedule, but no matter what, the highlight this week would be that other Star Wars finale. The Mandalorian is wrapping up its eight-episode run on Friday morning, and that might be the gift I'm looking forward to the most this week. Beyond the flagship Disney+ series, Netflix is bringing a second season of two highly-anticipated shows, You and Lost in Space. Also new this week is Ang Lee's Gemini Man -- you won't get a 120fps copy, but at least you can own it at home in 4K and HDR. There isn't much new this week in the way of video games or Blu-ray releases, but sports fans can check out college bowl games and a full slate of NBA action on Christmas Day. Look after the break to check out each day's highlights, including trailers and let us know what you think (or what we missed).
