Jon Hamm is the latest A-lister to join Amazon's 'Good Omens'
Amazon's quest to hire top-tier actors for its original shows is still in full swing. The internet giant has revealed that Mad Men star Jon Hamm is joining the main cast of Good Omens, the episodic adaptation of the novel penned by Neil Gaiman and the late Terry Pratchett. Appropriately for the former Don Draper, he'll play Gabriel -- Gaiman describes the character as the "good-looking, charismatic and impeccably dressed" archangel that serves as a foil to his more earthly counterpart Aziraphale.
Neil Gaiman's 'Good Omens' Amazon miniseries has its stars (update)
Good Omens, Amazon's upcoming six-part mini-series based on Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett's novel of the same name, will star Michael Sheen and David Tennant, Variety reports. The new show comes on the heels of the successful first season of American Gods, a series adapted from Gaiman's novel of the same name. For the new miniseries, however, Gaiman will also act as showrunner.
Neil Gaiman is making a 'Good Omens' miniseries for Amazon Video
Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett fans, take note: Good Omens, a novel written by Gaiman and Pratchett, is being adapted into an Amazon miniseries. The six-part series will debut in 2018, with Gaiman serving as sole writer and showrunner. It's a timely release, too -- Amazon's description says that "Good Omens takes place in 2018 when the Apocalypse is near and Final Judgment is set to descend upon humanity," a feeling that some of us can relate to today.

Author Neil Gaiman enters gaming with Wayward Manor
Award winning author and screenwriter Neil Gaiman, best known for his works The Sandman, Coraline, and (for better or worse) Beowulf, to name a few, has announced Wayward Manor, a new puzzle / adventure game for Mac and "tablets," to be released in the fall Wayward Manor is set in a 1920s Victorian pastoral estate. You, the protagonist, are a ghost trying to have a peaceful after-life. However, your slumber is interrupted by unruly, quirky, living intruders. Your goal is to get rid of them in ever increasing and imaginative ways. The game has been developed by indie outfit The Odd Gentleman (Flea Symphony). Wayward Manor is now available for pre-order as well as a selection of limited edition products and experiences (including dinner with Neil Gaiman himself for US$10,000) to raise funds for the next installment of the game) For more details check out the rather peculiar promo clip below or head to the Wayward Manor website for details and to pre-order.
Sandman author Neil Gaiman ventures into gaming with Wayward Manor
Acclaimed author and screenwriter Neil Gaiman, known best for his Sandman series and novella-turned-film Coraline, is stepping into game development with a new project titled Wayward Manor. Gaiman says that the story for Wayward Manor didn't begin as a game, but developed into one as he dived in deeper. It follows an apparition in a 1920s New England house (a manor, if you will) who's attempting to scare the house's new residents out. Gaiman's teaming with P.B. Winterbottom dev team The Odd Gentlemen to complete his goal -- no gameplay is shown in the introduction vid, which you can see below, but it's described as a "puzzle/adventure game hybrid." The first piece of the game should arrive "this fall," according to the video, and it's headed to PC, Mac, and tablets.
Humble Bundle goes literary, offers octuplet of books at a humble price
The Humble Bundle tends to be associated with not just low prices, but also indie video games (and occasionally music). Today's bundle, however, centers on the literary-minded among us, offering a set of eight e-Books for just under $10. Of course, a main staple of the bundle is its pay what you want price model, which applies here as well -- should you only want six of the books, you can pay any price (one penny for six books! hot dog!). If you want access to John Scalzi's Old Man's War and Signal to Noise by Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean, you've gotta shell out over the average payment price (currently sitting at $9.84). If you want that sub-$10 price, we'd suggest heading over sooner than later. Another good reason? You've only got two weeks before this humble e-Book bundle disappears forever.
Breakfast Topic: What do you want your character to look like?
You're likely already aware that one of the great new features to be unveiled in the Wrath of the Lich King expansion is the ability to change your character's hairstyle. A number of players (including myself) have actually stopped playing certain characters just because our original appearance choices didn't turn out as good in play as they seemed in the character creation screen. Some (including myself) have spent a long time thinking about what a new character should look like and trying out many variations, playing for a bit, deleting them and trying again until you get something you know you can live with for the rest of your character's life.Soon, however, our characers' hairspray will no longer be stone-stiff, and a new era of creative exploration will open up to Azerothians. Existing characters with ugly hair may get a second chance at coolness -- but as many already satisfied players know, your characters' good looks often come from a desire to make them fit, as closely as possible, some image we already have in our mind.So tell us of your dream for your character, how you envision him or her when you close your eyes. Do you want your Death Knight to look like Darth Vader, or -- heaven forbid -- Chuck Norris? If you like, you could link to a picture you like, or even draw your creative vision for us!My own most vivid character visualization was for a night elf rogue I had in mind. I wanted her to have the look of an angel who used to live among the stars in the sky, but had somehow gotten lost on earth and forgotten her way home. In hindsight, I was probably very inspired by my favorite Neil Gaiman novel, Stardust, in which a star actually does fall to the earth... and breaks her leg.
