There are plenty of cooking shows in the internet era, but they tend to be pre-recorded, passive affairs. The results are predictable, and you probably won't get to ask questions about the recipe. That's where YouTube veterans Steve Chen (who co-founded the company) and Vijay Karunamurthy think they can help. They've launched Nom, a service that's all about livestreams for cooking and eating. Think of it as a specialized, gastronomical take on Periscope. Individuals and whole teams can broadcast live video from PCs or iOS devices, take input from viewers (including images and videos), and schedule shows. They can even use two live cameras, if the budget allows.

We've all been there. Awake at some ludicrously early hour -- on a Saturday morning no less -- slaving away over a hot griddle only to have your pancakes snubbed because they're too circular. Next time, impress your brood by frying up some custom-designed flapjacks using this robotic pancake printer. It's called the PancakeBot. This device combines an electric griddle and a patent-pending batter dispensing system to effectively "print" out pancakes virtually in any shape you can imagine -- or at least trace.

  • Lost Pages of Taborea: Power-leveling alts in an honor party

Over the course of two years, Runes of Magic has had many patches. It has also had many changes and additions that never made it into the patch notes. They're usually nothing major -- maybe a minor graphical tweak or some other incidental improvements. Then there are items, quests, and features that seem to change, but I can never be sure based on my imperfect memory alone. Something seems to be new or different, but because it never made a lasting impression, I can't be sure whether I'm remembering it correctly. That's how I felt about the honor party. The newbie tutor system seemed to quietly crawl under a rug, but over time it has proven to be operational. Even though the NPC in Varanas does a fair job of informing you what the honor party is and does, I'll give you a quick run-down of how it operates. One of the advantages of knowing about and using the honor party is having a very quick way of leveling alts through the first 20 levels. I wouldn't recommend it for first-time players, but let's take a look at using the honor party to give your alt a huge jump in levels on day one.

[Update: the short answer is "Yes, they are!" However, it's the same web magazine they've had in Japan forever. Only the trademark registration is new.]When it became clear that Nintendo's version of Nintendo Power was on the way out, there was a lot of speculation that the magazine would move online, bolstered Reggie Fils-Aime's idea of making Nintendo Power's archives becoming available on the Wii. Of course, instead of the print magazine being replaced by an online resource, it was replaced by ... an almost identical magazine.Nintendo of Japan seems to have been inspired by the idea, however -- or by I Can Haz Cheezburger. They've registered a trademark for something called "Nintendo Online Magazine" or "N.O.M." Could this be a Wii-based magazine? The Nintendo Channel has already shown that Nintendo is willing to create exclusive video content for the Wii, along with demos. Words would be a natural next step.
