Not content to simply point people in the direction of national parks, it sounds like Airbnb will now offer the well-heeled even more luxurious places to stay. Codenamed Airbnb Lux, the short-term rental service will soon offer penthouses and mansions if its tests are successful, according to Bloomberg's sources. Supposedly, the housing stock comes from Airbnb's purchase of Luxury Retreats earlier this year.

Harli Lotts (not her real name) knows her audience better than just about anyone I've ever met in online media. In just two years, the bubbly blonde from El Paso, Texas, has gone from manager of a rent-to-own store to rising internet starlet by making personal connections with a loyal online audience. She arrived at our interview on a sweltering Friday morning in a hotel suite on the Las Vegas strip with a small entourage of two other budding social media influencers, Amber Vixx and Stefanie Joy (also not their names). NSFW Warning: This story may contain links to and descriptions or images of explicit sexual acts.

Editor in chief Michael Gorman, executive editor Christopher Trout and managing editor Dana Wollman join host Terrence O'Brien to give you one last update from the ground in Las Vegas. They talk about the history of sex at CES, it's quiet reemergence and all the most absurd gadgets from the show floor. Plus they settle once and for all who is the Flame Wars champion, and who will have something to prove in 2017.

  • Penthouse's CEO thinks VR porn should be a carnival of sex

Penthouse is one of the most recognizable brands in the adult industry, having been around for over 50 years. And while new owner and CEO Kelly Holland is reverential to Penthouse's illustrious past -- she's investing heavily in its print magazine -- she's very much focused on the future. You probably won't be surprised to hear that she's a big believer in the potential of VR, or that she's unimpressed by much of what her competitors are making.

When I arrived at the Las Vegas Convention Center in January 2012, CES was a sexless desert of 4K TVs, second-tier smartphones and (yawn) Ultrabooks for days. I'd heard stories about scantily clad porn stars commingling with the same dumpy tech dudes who continued to stalk the show floor, their oversize polo shirts tucked into ill-fitting khaki pants. Tech veterans recalled days spent rubbing elbows with adult-film stars and nights stuffing dollar bills into G-strings. But from where I was standing, in a sea of brightly lit displays and airborne illness, there was nothing sexy about the world's biggest technology showcase.

There have been some massive data breaches in recent years, but the latest might just top them all. LeakedSource reports that a hack targeting Friend Finder Network has exposed over 412 million accounts, most of them (339 million) belonging to sex hookup site AdultFriendFinder. Users at Cams.com (62 million), Penthouse (7 million) and a handful of smaller sites were also affected. This reportedly represents about 20 years' worth of data, and handily eclipses the 360 million records from the MySpace breach.

Internet porn just claimed another casualty. Penthouse has announced that it's dropping its print magazine after 51 years of publication -- from an unspecified point in the future, you'll have to go online to get those articles and racy photos (okay, mostly the photos). There will be a transition period, if you're not yet ready to ditch paper. Also, the move will see the magazine close its New York City offices and move into the Los Angeles location of its parent company, FriendFinder Networks.

  • Penthouse 3D channel to fill European screens with three-dimensional smut, starting today

Penthouse already promised its US audience a 3D channel in the second quarter of this year, but, for whatever reason, it's dishing the goods to Europeans even sooner -- as in, right now. March 1st marks the pan-European launch for Penthouse 3D, an all-new channel that will be composed of "100% Full 3D Native HD" content, which, judging by the preview videos available online, looks like a classic case of passive-glasses 3D. Still, Penthouse says it's been shooting in 3D since last summer in preparation for this launch, so we don't expect there to be a content shortage for those who prefer a little more depth to their adult entertainment. Full press release after the break.

Not interested in 3D because animated features and video games don't interest you? Well, Penthouse wants to ensure there is some 3D content for everyone, so it has announced that it has been filming in 3D since the Summer and is preparing to launch an adult 3D channel that should be available for providers to pass on to US households by the second quarter of 2011. The details end there, but we do see this as a sign that content producers of all kinds are hooking their wagon to the 3D train.

  • Penthouse heads to the HD VOD space

It took 'em awhile, but sure enough, Penthouse is forging ahead into the HD marketplace in a big way. If you'll recall, Playboy made a move of its own last year, but now New Frontier Media is announcing the launch of the "first ever US adult VOD [channel] in high-definition" with PenthouseHD. Reportedly, the SD service (PenthouseTV) will be available to some nine million American households, while the HD counterpart is available to over two million homes. Interestingly, we're not told exactly what carriers are offering it, but those interested can certainly call up their EPG (or respective provider) to get the low-down. [Via BroadcastingCable]
