We're tired of wasting time waiting for LG's GD910 watchphone to mosey on over to these shores and rob us blind, and now we've found a new, cheaper bauble to love: the Kempler & Strauss W PhoneWatch. The W, which K&S calls the "world's smallest full-function GSM tri-band cellphone watch," has a touchscreen interface, camera, microSD slot and even comes with a Bluetooth headset in the $200 package. Better yet, it's available now -- if you can track one down. [Via Electronista]

  • LG's magical GD910 wrist phone packs touchscreen, camera and rainbows

It was deliciously inevitable that a watch phone would eventually show up that could actually "pack it all in," and it looks like LG has actually accomplished that feat in its LG-GD910 model. Of note, the phone packs a touchscreen LCD, 3G data, and a built-in camera for videoconferencing and being a general badass. Sure, browsing to your favorite gadget blog might be a tad bit difficult on that 1.43-inch screen, and there's always the question of fashion, but those are minor quibbles -- the real question is where can we get one, and for how much. LG should be showing this off at CES next month (it showed off a predecessor this January), and plans to release it in Japan and Europe, but we've got a couple of cereal box-delivered 2-way wrist radios crossed behind our backs in hopes for a US berth.[Via Electronista]

  • WF820 phone watch is the size of Rhode Island

We suspect that some really common set of miniaturized phone guts has recently ramped up production to spawn an entire cottage industry of ugly-ass phone watches, because in the past few months we've seen a ton of these 220 x 176 portrait display GSM devices with strikingly similar feature sets pop out of nowhere. Not that we're complaining -- they're great. Especially if you're, say, 8 feet tall with wrists like tree trunks. We're especially digging the number keys strategically positioned around the bezel (which should be perfect for those times when you need to press three adjacent digits and the order isn't of particular importance) and the touted "Double Bluetooth," guaranteed to make your handsfree twice as awesome as it was before. Finding and buying this one could be a bit tricky in most parts of the world, but is anyone really too broken up about that?[Via Mobile Mentalism]

  • IMOBILE's Flying C1000 phone / PDA / PMP / watch

You wouldn't think you'd be able to fit a GSM phone, PDA (with stylus), and regular old "watch" functions into into a "stylish" package like the IMOBILE Flying C1000... but you'd be wrong. Dead wrong. Feast your eyes on the latest and greatest wrist-related marvel out of China -- a tiny phone with a touchscreen, Bluetooth support, 60MB of RAM, a video / audio player, a mini USB jack, and possibly a camera (though it's quite hard to tell from the photos). The watch seems to share at least guts (if not design) with SMS Technology's M500, and of course we've seen phone watches and PMP watches, but never before has it all been pulled together in such an "attractive" package. The C1000 also appears to be both 2G- and 3G-ready, thus allowing you to browse large, image-heavy webpages on the tiniest screen ever made. No word on price and availability, but you can be sure the Engadget staff is doing everything possible to get the team equipped with these.

  • SMS Technology shipping the M500 watch phone on August 31st?

We'll admit, there's a few sects who've already crossed SMS Technology's M500 watch phone off as vaporware in its finest form, but apparently, the firm is finally coming through on its most recent declaration. Yep, those wearable phones the company has been promising all this time are finally shipping soon, at least, we think. According to the company, "the final version of the M500 production model has been given full clearance to be supplied with full metal strap bracelets," and it sounds like deliveries should begin within a month. Furthermore, the final production model sports a longer stylus, a battery upgrade, and a few software tweaks including support for POP3 email and IM. Hang tight, the "global retail launch" is slated for September 10th, with the keyword here being "slated."[Via PMPToday]

  • What is this Alcatel phone watch?

Before you say "it's an OT-E220A or OT-E225A, clearly," take a closer look. Apart from this image on the first page of the user's manual, we can't find any reference to this rather curious looking watch; instead, the external photos, internal photos, ID label, and contents of the manual all point to a rather ordinary, garden-variety clamshell from Alcatel that's looking to navigate its way through the FCC. So is this watch nothing more than a concept placed on the cover of the manuals of boring phones to drive interest, or did someone in Alcatel's tech writing department make a huge mistake while pasting in photos? We wish we knew, because the mystery shrouding this timepiece is driving us nuts. If you look closely, you can make out some status lights on the band below the face, and it seems that the slot above the digits could be a speakerphone -- more practical than the Sony Ericsson MBW-100, and arguably more fashionable (though barely) than the so-called m300 Mobile Watch. Does someone from Alcatel care to clear up the confusion here?
