Next, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/13/lg-announces-prada-ii/">Prada II </a>brandished a sliding QWERTY keyboard, a 5-megapixel camera and arrived at a time when WiFi functionality was a big enough deal to note on the press release. Four years on, the pair have rolled their sleeves and attempted to reclaim a place among the top devices, with classy aesthetics backed up by a strong hardware and attractively customized software. This is the team's first attempt at an Android device, and on paper it's got some respectable specifications, including a 4.3-inch NOVA Plus display, a dual-core processor and an 8-megapixel camera sensor that appears to be the same one found on LG's 2011 flagship models. Granted, LG probably wasn't ever planning to include its latest <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/06/lg-nitro-hd-review/">HD IPS screen</a> on a phone where branding was dominated by the <em>other</em> partner, but this smartphone still wants to appeal beyond its good looks.<br /> <br /> It's now appeared in Korea and Western Europe and we were fortunate enough to borrow one from UK retailer Phones 4u for review. Are people willing to stump up the top-tier smartphone cash for a device with last year's specifications? Do people want a Prada phone? Might a fashionista be more likely to plump for an iPhone? Or is it too popular? And what about that monochrome skin? We'll talk it all out after the break.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-review/">Prada phone by LG 3.0 review</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-review/#4811211"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/lgpradadsc01460mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-review/#4811218"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/lgpradadsc01444mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-review/#4811223"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/lgpradadsc01439mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-review/#4811222"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/lgpradadsc01440mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-review/#4811210"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/02/lgpradadsc01464mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/13/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Prada phone by LG 3.0 review</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/02/13/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-review/">Prada phone by LG 3.0 review</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 13 Feb 2012 13:00:00 EST. Alongside the aforementioned custom Android skin (atop a Gingerbread OS), the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/14/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on-video/">Prada Phone by LG 3.0</a> packs a respectable dual-core processor, 8 megapixel camera and LG's NOVA display -- stretching up to 4.3 inches on this fashionista phone. It's set to launch on both Vodafone and O2, free on a &pound;31 two-year contracts, while it'll also be making an appearance on T-Mobile <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/19/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-arriving-on-t-mobile-uk-next-month/">next month</a>. We're planning on getting these unmanicured paws on one for review very soon, but Prada fans will be able to <strike>queue up</strike> get their assistants to queue up for the handset at Phones 4u stores tomorrow.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/26/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-gets-vip-treatment-from-phones-4u-launche/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Prada phone by LG 3.0 gets VIP treatment from Phones 4u, launches in UK tomorrow</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/26/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-gets-vip-treatment-from-phones-4u-launche/">Prada phone by LG 3.0 gets VIP treatment from Phones 4u, launches in UK tomorrow</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 26 Jan 2012 09:26:00 EST. The awkwardly-named <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/14/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on-video/">Prada Phone by LG 3.0</a> is looking to set sail from its native Korea -- where it's already launched -- and will be available on T-Mobile, half of the Everything Everywhere duo, some time in February. Sidling up to the UK carrier's coming soon page, the salient selling points appear to be that Prada styling and LG's 4.3-inch NOVA plus display. That subtle monochromatic skinning of the Gingerbread OS won't hurt its chances either. No word on a precise launch date or price, but we expect to see a review model pretty soon -- once we're dressed well enough to be seen with it.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/01/19/prada-phone-by-lg-3-0-arriving-on-t-mobile-uk-next-month/">Prada Phone by LG 3.0 arriving on T-Mobile UK next month</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 19 Jan 2012 08:01:00 EST. Do you take your Android phones with an <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/14/lg-prada-3-0-peeks-out-from-the-curtain-ahead-of-its-catwalk-lau/">extra dose of designer</a>? Then <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/14/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on-video/">LG's Prada 3.0</a> is probably already on your radar, ready to mix and match with your walk-in closet of wardrobe options. This respectably specced, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/24/lg-prada-officially-renew-phone-partnership-confirm-v3-0-for-e/">luxe update</a> is right on target to hit South Koreans' manicured mitts tomorrow, with first dibs going to SK Telecom and a release on KT to follow on January 5th. The usual two-year contract pricing applies for both operators, but contract-averse users can also snag the stylish handset for 899,900 won (about $778) outright. That's the high price you pay for fashion (and a minimalist UI overlay), but at least this forward-looking device is set to fatten its figure with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/26/lg-announces-ics-upgrades-to-begin-in-q2-2012/">Ice Cream Sandwich</a> in Q2 of next year. Of course, by then, it'll already be terribly gauche to own one anyway.<br />

Following the footsteps of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/20/samsung-galaxy-s-ii-and-note-get-late-ics-christmas-presents-ar/">Samsung</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/22/sony-details-xperias-ice-cream-sandwich-progress-remains-on-tr/">Sony</a>, LG has come forth with details on which devices will be getting Android 4.0 -- also known as <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/01/android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich-review/">Ice Cream Sandwich</a> -- and when we can begin expecting those upgrades to roll out. The phone manufacturer made its official announcement via its Facebook page, stating that several of its 2011 models will be on the receiving end of ICS starting in the second and third quarters of next year, with a full-scale rollout occurring sometime afterward.<br />
<br />
In the second quarter we should expect to see updates for the LG Optimus LTE, Prada 3.0, Optimus 2X, Optimus Sol, myTouch Q and the Eclipse. Fast forwarding to the third quarter, the Optimus 3D, Optimus Black, Optimus Big, Optimus Q2 and the Optimus EX will all be lucky recipients. As can be expected, LG was careful not to lump carrier-branded devices into the mix here, as a large portion of the timing depends on the carrier's testing procedures. Head on past the break to see the full statement by LG.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/26/lg-announces-ics-upgrades-to-begin-in-q2-2012/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>LG announces ICS upgrades to begin in Q2 2012</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/26/lg-announces-ics-upgrades-to-begin-in-q2-2012/">LG announces ICS upgrades to begin in Q2 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 26 Dec 2011 11:59:00 EST. This is the latest fruit to be borne from LG and Prada's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/24/lg-prada-officially-renew-phone-partnership-confirm-v3-0-for-e/">renewed</a> creative partnership. It's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/14/lg-prada-3-0-peeks-out-from-the-curtain-ahead-of-its-catwalk-lau/">Prada Phone by LG 3.0</a> and it's also an attempt to marry fashion pedigree with, if not leading technological specifications, then at least competitive ones. There's a respectable 8 megapixel autofocus camera, and LG's bright, outdoor-friendly 4.3-inch NOVA display, here projecting an 800 x 480 WVGA touchscreen. It wears its Prada branding on its sleeve, and the fashion label's creative input has even gone so far as to affect the Android OS, with understated black and white themes papered over the cheerful -- in comparison -- Gingerbread interface. So how does it stand up? Is it just another brainless designer phone? You'll have to read on to find out. <div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on/">Prada phone by LG 3.0 hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on/#4680340"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/12/pradapradadraftadsc2169mat800mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on/#4680311"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/12/pradapradadraftadsc2123mat800mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on/#4680312"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/12/pradapradadraftadsc2129mat800mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on/#4680313"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/12/pradapradadraftadsc2132mat800mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on/#4680314"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2011/12/pradapradadraftadsc2133mat800mat800_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/14/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on-video/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Prada phone by LG 3.0 hands-on (video)</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/14/lg-prada-3-0-hands-on-video/">Prada phone by LG 3.0 hands-on (video)</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 14 Dec 2011 14:52:00 EST. While our shirt is still being pressed ahead of the launch event in London <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/09/lg-and-prada-invites-us-to-see-its-2012-collection-in-london-we/">later today</a>, yet more details have leaked on the LG Prada 3.0. Some decidedly realistic press shots have surfaced ahead of the phone's big debut, alongside some <strike>concrete-looking</strike> confirmed specifications. The dual-core OMAP 4430 processor <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/07/lg-p940-phone-gets-benchmarked-is-the-prada-k2-ready-to-turn-he/">seen last week</a> is apparently clocked at 1GHz, with a high definition screen showing off a classy monotone Android skin, lying over Gingerbread version 2.3.7. The spec sheet also reveals 8GB of storage, expandable by microSD, with an eight megapixel auto-focus camera peering out from the textured backing. Interestingly, the slab with style will also pack NFC according to the leak. We've got a few more hours to wait until we can give it a personal going-over -- fashion phone obsessives, hold on.<br />

	LG and Prada may have already <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/24/lg-prada-officially-renew-phone-partnership-confirm-v3-0-for-e/">renewed</a> their wedding vows, but it's been pretty quiet on the designer phone front. However, a stream of benchmark results have surfaced over at <em>Antutu</em>, revealing an LG phone with a 1GHz CPU running Android Gingerbread -- version 2.3.7 to be precise. The handset is labelled up as the P940, suggesting that this could well be the fruits of labor from the fashion-phonemaker collaboration -- aka the Prada K2. A device with the same codename has already paid a visit to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/04/fcc-fridays-november-4-2011/">FCC</a>, although it kept quiet on the hardware specifics, not revealing much more than a clutch of GPRS and HSPA radios. Rumors suggest the hardware will all be contained in an appropriately stylish 9mm frame, but we'll just have to wait and see. It may be just a sliver of a smartphone, but we hope LG <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/28/more-optimus-handsets-will-receive-ice-cream-sandwich-upgrade-l/">considers</a> feeding it some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/01/android-4-0-ice-cream-sandwich-review/">Ice Cream Sandwich</a> before it makes its debut. Not too much though, it still needs to fit into that Prada outfit.</p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/12/07/lg-p940-phone-gets-benchmarked-is-the-prada-k2-ready-to-turn-he/">LG P940 phone gets benchmarked, is the Prada K2 ready to turn heads?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 07 Dec 2011 14:54:00 EST. Five years after <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/13/prada-teams-with-lg-to-develop-new-iconic-phone/">first linking up</a> for a "new iconic phone" (the first one may be best remembered for slightly <a href="http://mobile.engadget.com/2007/01/11/iphone-and-lg-ke850-separated-at-birth/">predating the iPhone's large touchscreen / few buttons look</a>) LG and Prada have announced the renewal of their exclusive phone partnership, as well as the planned arrival of the third phone in the series early next year. The teaser image (above) shows a design that resembles the Prada K2 / P940 phone we've seen in <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/10/29/mobile-miscellany-week-of-october-24-2011/">leaked pictures</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/04/fcc-fridays-november-4-2011/">passing through the FCC</a> recently, and will supposedly feature Android 2.3, a 4.3-inch display, and 21Mbps HSPA+ speeds in a 9mm thin frame. Check out the press release after the break and try to remember where you left your old <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/26/lgs-prada-link-watch-not-just-for-your-prada-ii-anymore/">Prada Link</a> watch.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/24/lg-prada-officially-renew-phone-partnership-confirm-v3-0-for-e/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>LG, Prada officially renew phone partnership, confirm v3.0 for early 2012</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/24/lg-prada-officially-renew-phone-partnership-confirm-v3-0-for-e/">LG, Prada officially renew phone partnership, confirm v3.0 for early 2012</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 24 Nov 2011 02:09:00 EST. If you can't tell if a Rolex or a knockoff Prada bag is fake, your <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/NFC">NFC-enabled</a> smartphone will be able to. Toking on a long-standing problem with counterfeiting, French company Inside Secure has released the Vault150 security module, a NFC-based chip that can be embedded into any product a retailer might wish to have authenticated by prospective buyers. This could become as easy as literally embedding the chip, as NFC chips require no power source, can collect RF energy from an NFC reader such as a smartphone and complete an authentication request for a potential buyer.<br />
<br />
For more intricate products where the chip might have to be buried deeper, Inside Secure has also offered several antenna options that allow the chip to be placed well within an item and still communicate with an NFC reader. In cases where a module needs to be embedded in items like a bottle of wine or pair of shoes, the chip can use a slew of voltage, frequency or temperature change sensors to sense if someone has tried to alter the chip's information and return a warning from there. Along with authentication purposes, the devices could also ping a shopper's handset (in addition to doing cool things like <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/09/20/yale-demos-nfc-enabled-residential-locks-germaphobes-rejoice-v/">opening doors</a>) when they came within a certain range of a product, informing them as to the savings they might be about to pass by. Final pricing and availability has yet to be announced and there's no guarantee that this will spot every fake, but it'll probably be better at the task than the current champ (yes, Chumlee).<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/14/inside-secure-announces-nfc-chips-to-help-distinguish-knockoffs/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Inside Secure announces NFC chips to help distinguish knockoffs from the real thing</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/11/14/inside-secure-announces-nfc-chips-to-help-distinguish-knockoffs/">Inside Secure announces NFC chips to help distinguish knockoffs from the real thing</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 14 Nov 2011 22:48:00 EST. Of course you don't, but if you did, you'd be able to take comfort in the knowledge that your pricey, excessive accessory just got a little more useful. Good ol' <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/smartWatchM/">smartWatchM</a> has been updated to support the Prada Link, meaning that Windows Mobile sets of all kinds can now take full advantage of the watch's capabilities: time sync, call and text notifications, the whole nine yards. Most people try to keep carrier branding on their phones to a minimum -- it's gaudy, loud, and unnecessary -- but for the burgeoning KIRF industry, anything goes. Take for example the SciPhone S18, brought to you by the same company that saw fit to <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/15/dream-g2-doesnt-get-the-irony-of-ripping-off-an-open-source-os/">clone a free platform, Android</a>, of all things. It sorta looks like a cross between an <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Incite/">Incite</a>, a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Vu/">Vu</a>, and a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Prada/">Prada</a> (which never launched on AT&amp;T, coincidentally), but the kicker is the big ol' AT&amp;T logo top center. We're pretty sure it wouldn't take more than a couple days on an American carrier for these dudes to decide that the logo's doing more harm than good, but then again, maybe they know something we don't. Doubtful.<br /><br />[Thanks, Andrew]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/others/" rel="tag">Others</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/19/keepin-it-real-fake-part-clxviii-no-carrier-subsidy-to-be-fou/">Keepin' it real fake, part CLXVIII: no carrier subsidy to be found</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 19 Jan 2009 10:44:00 EST. You've had ample time to look LG's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PradaII/">Prada II</a> over, and by now, you know good and well whether or not you're dreaming of one under your tree. If you just so happen to be parked in Europe (or you don't mind the rather atrocious exchange rate for a possible import), you or your Secret Santa can snatch one of these handsets up for around &euro;600 ($832) -- and no, that's <em>not</em> including the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/19/lgs-fashionable-prada-ii-and-watch-gets-shown-to-the-camera/">watch</a>. We spied LG's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PradaII/">Prada II</a> strutting its stuff in some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/19/lgs-fashionable-prada-ii-and-watch-gets-shown-to-the-camera/">fancy photos</a> yesterday, and here we are just over twenty-four hours later with a gossip-worthy video spectacular of the luxury house's second foray into handset branding. The lucky gent in the film beautifully demonstrates how the Bluetooth-enabled watch can perform such wonders as silence your ringer and retrieve text messages, all without laying a finger on the touchscreen, slider keyboard-boasting phone. We're pretty sure that you'll agree the video of the device is "not long enough," but just do what we did: watch it twice in a row (while lounging by the pool in a diamond tiara sipping a martini) after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/20/lgs-snobbish-prada-ii-phone-and-watch-combo-caught-on-glorious/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>LG's snobbish Prada II phone and watch combo caught on glorious celluloid</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/lg/" rel="tag">LG</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/orange/" rel="tag">Orange</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/20/lgs-snobbish-prada-ii-phone-and-watch-combo-caught-on-glorious/">LG's snobbish Prada II phone and watch combo caught on glorious celluloid</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 20 Nov 2008 17:18:00 EST. Well, that didn't take long. Merely hours after LG's <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/PradaII/">Prada II</a> was treated to a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/18/lg-launches-prada-ii-teaser-site-matching-bluetooth-watch/">dedicated microsite</a>, along comes the hands-on photographs we've been expecting. <em>CNET</em>'s UK branch was able to wrangle one in, and as predicted, the mobile didn't hesitate to pose for a few nice snapshots. Eagle-eyed readers will notice that it certainly put on a little heft since the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/03/15/hands-on-with-the-lg-prada/">first go 'round</a>, but the slight downturn in attractivity is more than compensated by the inclusion of a slide-out QWERTY keyboard. Well, that didn't take long. Merely hours after LG's <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/PradaII/">Prada II</a> was treated to a <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/11/18/lg-launches-prada-ii-teaser-site-matching-bluetooth-watch/">dedicated microsite</a>, along comes the hands-on photographs we've been expecting. <em>CNET</em>'s UK branch was able to wrangle one in, and as predicted, the mobile didn't hesitate to pose for a few nice snapshots. Not that it wasn't <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/13/lg-announces-prada-ii/">official already</a> or anything, but nothing demonstrates dedication to a product like an exclusive home on the web. Yep, LG has just launched a standalone microsite for the altogether sexy Prada II, and while you already know about the specs -- HSDPA, WiFi, 5-megapixel camera, 3-inch 400 x 240 pixel capacitive multi-touch display and quad-band GSM connectivity -- you probably weren't aware of the matching Prada Link Bluetooth watch. As you'd expect, the timepiece syncs with your Prada II and shows your incoming calls / texts, and we'll go out on a limb and presume that it tells time, too. Sadly, the tidbits we're most interested in (a release date and pricing) aren't clearly available on the site, but we'll be refreshing like madmen hoping for that to change.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.unwiredview.com/2008/11/18/lg-prada-ii-kf900-arrives-in-europe-with-a-bluetooth-watch-and-a-microsite/">UnwiredView</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/lg/" rel="tag">LG</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/11/18/lg-launches-prada-ii-teaser-site-matching-bluetooth-watch/">LG launches Prada II teaser site, matching Bluetooth watch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 18 Nov 2008 18:14:00 EST. We think that phones like the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/TouchPro/">Touch Pro</a> and <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/X1/">X1</a> sort of limit the market for pricey dumbphone QWERTY sliders, but be that as it may, LG clearly has every intention of making the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/PradaII/">Prada II</a> one of its headline devices in the waning months of 2008. The rumored 7.2Mbps HSDPA 850 / 2100, WiFi, TV-out, an FM radio, and a 5-megapixel camera have all been confirmed to go along with the full keyboard for a launch in Europe in the end of October or beginning of November, running something in the range of &euro;600 (about $816). Don't get us wrong, it looks alright -- but would this be your first choice of ways to part with the better part of a grand?<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/13/lg-announces-prada-ii/">LG announces Prada II</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 13 Oct 2008 03:22:00 EST. In a brief press release, LG has announced total sales of one million Prada handsets worldwide. Not bad for a March 2007 launch. The bigger news though is that LG and Prada will launch a new handset in Europe in Q4 of 2008. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/prada%20ii">Prada II</a>, we're ready.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/lg/" rel="tag">LG</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/24/lg-sells-one-million-prada-phones-globally-prada-ii-in-q4/">LG sells one million Prada phones globally, Prada II in Q4</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 24 Sep 2008 06:15:00 EST. Looks like LG wants some bite to back up the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2008/08/20/is-this-lgs-qwerty-packin-prada-ii/">PRADA II's</a> bark -- assuming both the device and its specs are real, of course, since we've been basing everything we know about Lucky Goldstar's rumored fashion monster on rumors thus far. The latest word on the street has the phone packing a what's-what of good things, ranging from a 5-megapixel autofocus cam, wide QVGA display (with capacitive touch, we can only imagine), HSDPA 850 / 2100, motion sensing, an FM radio, and a WiFi radio for those poor US souls who find themselves surrounded by more 1900MHz 3G than 850. It certainly all sounds real enough -- not as revolutionary as the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/01/18/lgs-ke850-prada-official-iphone-says-wha/">first PRADA</a> may have been, but a solid upgrade. While we're waiting for LG to sort this business out in a slightly more official capacity, we'll be working on the <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2007/12/26/hands-on-with-the-samsung-p520-armani/">Armani</a>, we s'pose.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/05/lg-prada-ii-to-include-wifi-even-more-pretention/">LG PRADA II to include WiFi, even more pretension?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 05 Sep 2008 12:29:00 EST. Remember those <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/04/25/rumored-prada-ii-specs-surface-in-purported-leaked-press-release/">rumored specifications</a> for LG's so-called Prada II? What sort of sick, twisted world did we just wake up inside where NTT DoCoMo is getting rehashed has-been phones launched many, many months ago elsewhere? We're kidding -- sort of -- but we do find it a bit strange that Japan's favorite omniscient megacarrier is just now getting around to announcing its own <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/prada">LG Prada</a> after the original <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/18/lgs-ke850-prada-official-iphone-says-wha/">KE850</a> model entered our hearts and minds almost a year and a half ago. Some of that embarrassment is salvaged in the form of NTT DoCoMo-specific changes and upgrades, or so they allege, anyway; all we're really seeing is the presence of 7.2Mbps data, even though the press release insists that the new model has been "redeveloped specifically" for 'em. Otherwise, fashionistas of the Far East will be treated to a 2 megapixel autofocus cam and a 3-inch wide QVGA display when it launches next month.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/lg/" rel="tag">LG</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ntt-docomo/" rel="tag">NTT DoCoMo</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/05/09/ntt-docomo-getting-its-own-prada-phone-from-lg/">NTT DoCoMo getting its own Prada phone from LG</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 09 May 2008 03:03:00 EST. <div align="left">It looks like those that have been holding out for a new and improved <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/prada">Prada</a> phone from LG could soon be getting their fix, at least if a purported leaked press release is to be believed. According to Taiwan's ePrice, the Prada II is supposedly on track for a release in the fourth quarter of 2008, with it bringing with it a whole host of upgrades that some may say sound suspiciously like a wish list. That includes quad-band GSM, WCDMA 900/2100, and 7.2 Mbps HSDPA connectivity, along with a 5-megapixel camera (with support for video calls), a 3-inch WQVGA touchscreen, built-in WiFi and Bluetooth, TV-out, and a microSD card slot. Phone Scoop appears to have caught LG a little unprepared with a pair of handsets that haven't been officially outed, and as far as we can tell, aren't on the docket to be announced this week at CES. First up, the AX565 clamshell is allegedly Alltel-bound (and we'd tend to agree from the silkscreened label on the front and all) and features an unusual square touchpad for external music control, stereo Bluetooth, microSD expansion, and a 1.3 megapixel camera. Now, onto the moneymaker: the mighty <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/tag/Vu/">Vu</a>, a Prada-esque handset that should usher in AT&amp;T's MediaFLO age when it gets around to launching in the next few months. We'll keep you posted if we get any more intel on either of these suckers.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/cellphones/" rel="tag">Cellphones</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/07/lg-vu-ax565-quietly-break-cover-at-ces/">LG Vu, AX565 quietly break cover at CES</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 07 Jan 2008 20:31:00 EST. Yep, we kinda knew about all these, but it's good to get a little more confirmation that they're still all on track. The LG Prada (alias "<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/11/lg-shine-prada-coming-to-atandt-as-vu-vu2/">Vu2</a>," alias CU920) has shown up for inventory tracking alongside the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/07/the-motorola-z9/">Motorola Z9</a> slider and the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/09/samsungs-blackjack-ii-outed-as-the-i617/">Samsung BlackJack II</a>. The Vu2 could end up being one of AT&amp;T's first MediaFLO-compliant handset for mobile TV on the network, and we don't really expect it until early '08 at this point; the BlackJack II looks ready to launch from the press shots we've seen, though, and we wouldn't be surprised if it hit before the year's out. The Z9 could be the hot slider we mentioned <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/12/whats-motorola-planning-for-atandt/">earlier today</a>, suggesting a launch some time in the first quarter.<br /><br />[Thanks, anonymous tipster]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handsets/" rel="tag">Handsets</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/lg/" rel="tag">LG</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/motorola/" rel="tag">Motorola</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/samsung/" rel="tag">Samsung</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/windows-mobile/" rel="tag">Windows Mobile</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gsm/" rel="tag">GSM</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/edge/" rel="tag">EDGE</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/hsdpa/" rel="tag">HSDPA</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/umts/" rel="tag">UMTS</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/10/12/lg-prada-samsung-blackjack-ii-moto-z9-show-up-in-atandts-system/">LG Prada, Samsung Blackjack II, Moto Z9 show up in AT&amp;T's system</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 12 Oct 2007 17:55:00 EST.
