Newest DDO screenshots show The Last Stand
Dungeons and Dragons Online's Update 6 was released last week, bringing with it the Red Fens Adventure Pack, the story of a group of Drow refugees under attack from the Sahuagin. Most of the Drow have evacuated the area, but Viercha Ettervs, a Priest of Vulkoor is unwilling to leave, as you'll find out in the quest The Last Stand. Everyone loves a good escort quest, so off you go to hustle Viercha and his followers to safety while fending off Sahuagin attackers. This is one of the shorter quests in the Red Fens pack, with the potential for several chests and some pretty easy bonuses (less than 40 breakables will get you the Ransack bonus, for example), so it's definitely worth checking out. Updated: DDO Update 6 to release today with player bonuses
We know from our developer tour last week that Update 6 -- the Red Fens Adventure Pack -- is releasing to the Dungeons and Dragons Online servers today, but the big question is "what time?" The DDO devs are being cagey about it, with the best answer so far being "Really really really incredibly soon." The exact time may be a secret, but when this update does arrive, it will bring some bonuses that players should enjoy. There will be a 10% XP bonus for quests and a 30% bonus to guild renown through August 29th. Update 6 will be available to VIPs sometime today, and available to all other players in the DDO Store Thursday at a cost of 450 Turbine Points. [Update: Update 6 is now live]
Massively's tour of Dungeons and Dragons Online Update 6
Turbine is bringing Update 6 to Dungeons and Dragons Online in less than a week, and the star of the show is the new Red Fens Adventure Pack. It brings a new wilderness area, four new quests, and the much-hyped addition of underwater combat. With the update just days away, Design Director Ian Currie and Producer Eric Boyer offered a guided tour of some of the new content, and I was more than happy to accept. Newest DDO screenshots introduce Claw of Vulkoor quest
Update 6 for Dungeons and Dragons Online is rapidly approaching, and the newest adventure pack has been garnering some attention on the DDO Lamannia servers. The Claw of Vulkoor, set in the new wilderness area of the Red Fens, is a quest in which you'll escort Drow warriors to an important artifact while being as silent and sneaky as possible. The newest screenshots give us a peek at the area of the quest, complete with giants, a jungle to skulk about in, and huge scorpions.
