Today, Capcom published an updated list of its all-time bestselling video games. The sales figures are correct up to December 31st, 2019, and reaffirm something that most video game fans have been believed or known about for sometime: man, Capcom is killing it. As Video Games Chronicle (VGC) notes, Devil May Cry 5 has now sold 3.1 million copies since its launch last March, making it the top-selling entry in the franchise. Devil May Cry 4, for comparison, currently stands at 3 million sales, while the "DmC" reboot by Ninja Theory has sold 2.4 million units to date.

Resident Evil's amazing remake is coming back in HD next year. The Evil Within made us remember Resident Evil 4's raw magic. Next year's brand new Resident Evil: Revelations 2 has us reflecting on Code Veronica's gothic madness. But where is the love for Resident Evil 2, that slice of brilliance which moved the original's haunted house horror into the big city? It had intersecting campaigns! It had giant, un-killable freaks in trench coats and people with spiky tongues and exposed brains! A young lady's father grew an eyeball on his arm! Then an alligator shows up for no good reason. It's one of the best horror games ever made. It put director and Platinum Games co-founder Hideki Kamiya on the map. Starting at 4:00PM EST on Joystiq.com/Twitch we'll be streaming Resident Evil 2 from the start. Leon meets Claire. Claire wears a weird leotard. Leon wears football shoulder pads for no reason. It's great. Joystiq.com/Twitch broadcasts every Tuesday and Thursday at 4:00PM EST, but we stream at odd times all the time so make sure to follow us on Twitch. [Images: Capcom]

Starting with today's PSN content dump in Europe and running until March 27, select entries in the Resident Evil series will be on sale. Some games are available piecemeal, but the remainder must be acquired in special bundles – like Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3, combined here for €14.99 (£11.99).Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil: Code Veronica X are also bundled together for €19.99 (£15.99), while several other games have been knocked down to €14.99 (£10.99) each: Operation Raccoon City, the gold edition of Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil: Chronicles HD Collection – the HD Move-compatible port of both Chronicles games originally released on the Wii. Sorry, UK, Chronicles HD will cost you an extra quid, at £10.99.The latest entry in the series, Resident Evil 6, is €24.99 (£19.99). Finally, a bundle that includes all of this is available for €69.99 (£59.99). No word on whether PlayStation Plus members will see additional discounts on these items, though we've contacted Sony for clarification.Remember: the sale doesn't start until tomorrow, after the PlayStation Store update. Don't go accidentally buying any of this stuff now, because if there's one thing everyone knows about you, it's that you're totally not a chump at all.

Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City assumes a lot about the player. It takes for granted that you already know the fiction going into the affair, that you already know about its character classes and that you already have people in mind for your squad. It thinks you know about the special abilities and unlockables of each class, and how to access that content, right from the start. Those who missed out on Resident Evil 2 and 3 may not appreciate the small bits of fanservice developer Slant 6 Games has tossed in, but that's minor compared to how much context is missing elsewhere.%Gallery-138014%

  • PlayStation Phone caught on video playing unofficial PSOne Android app

This seems like a pretty natural fit -- the PlayStation Phone, which, hilariously enough, still hasn't been formally acknowledged by Sony, was recently captured on video running a PSOne emulator Android application called ROM Buddy PSX. It should be stressed that the handheld (which has supposedly been branded the Xperia Play) doesn't have this functionality built in -- the video is simply demonstrating how the Play's slide-out gamepad can be used to interact with the App, and the zombies therein. Of course, that doesn't make the video any less dead sexy. Check out the video after the jump to see the PlayStation Phone living up to its unofficial name, playing ROMs of Resident Evil 2 and Rage Racer.

  • Capcom reveals list of PSP and PS1 games coming to PSN

Capcom is making good on its promise to release a ridiculous amount of PSP and PS1 titles on the PSN and has announced, via the PS Blog, the next batch of games that will be available to (re)purchase. Resident Evil fans won't be disappointed with the rest of the PS1 franchise entries making their way to the PSN, alongside Dino Crisis. PSP fans will also get their hands on seven titles, including two Mega Man games, two Capcom Classics collections, Darkstalkers and Power Stone Collection. It's a pretty good bunch of games and you can see the full list after the break. Other than Capcom Classics Remixed, which releases in America this week, none of the other games have been dated for any territory, nor even confirmed for European release. We've contacted Capcom Europe to ask, but release dates for the US will be revealed on the PlayStation Blog over time.

  • Capcom: Resident Evil 2 Wiimake rumor 'isn't worth a comment'

Capcom has seemingly dealt a swift and deadly blow to rumor of a Resident Evil 2 remake (not the port again) for Wii that's allegedly been detailed in Famitsu. "This isn't worth a comment," deemed Christian Svensson, VP of Strategic Planning & Business Development at Capcom, when pestered for a reaction. We couldn't agree more. But then, well, stranger things have happened...

We have faith that one day, the PlayStation Store will be accessible via PSP without the need for a PS3, and will flourish into a glorious realm of classic games, one that will be untouched by the competition. Of course, homebrew users will rip their own games ... but for the rest of us, this is my personal wishlist of PSone games that I'd like to see available for download.
