Nexon Europe is preparing for the biggest Vindictus update of the year. The Cohlen in Flames content package brings fire and brimstone to the online action title in the form of Resenlian's Labyrinth, which Nexon describes as "a deeply intense myriad of twisted, dark corridors and skull-lined murderous dungeons." New skills are coming too, foremost among them the transformation ability that features both a temporary boost in ability and a permanent (i.e., irreversible) decision to walk the path of the Paladin or that of the Dark Knight. There's also a new town in the update, and Rocheste features many new characters and side quests as well as the chance to create personal weapons via the new expertise system. Finally, Nexon is raising the level cap to 70, and you can get a glimpse of the update in the Cohlen in Flames and Transformation videos after the break.

Nexon spread its wings over much of PAX East's exhibit hall this year, with booths scattered about dedicated to it and its partners' various titles. At the center of the storm lay one of Nexon's hottest new properties, Dragon Nest, which was available for all manner of pokings and proddings. I sat down to play through a couple of Dragon Nest's dungeons with Dee Lee and Moon Kim, who provided commentary on the various game features we were seeing. At its core, Dragon Nest is a fast-paced dungeon crawler, a mash-up between Dungeon Runners, Diablo and Final Fantasy. Instead of spending time roaming around the world, players will primarily be jumping into multi-stage instances over and over again. Each dungeon, such as the Forest Sanctuary and the Valley of Mourning, can accommodate between one to four players (or up to eight for raids) as they try to battle their way to the end boss. It's colorful, heavy on clicking, and definitely arcade-like through and through. Hit the jump to hear the rest of our Dragon Nest impressions as well as a sneak peek at Vindictus' big update coming later this month!

How would you like a bit of PvP, a new town, and new transformations to go along with your Vindictus dungeon-crawling? Nexon's newest update for the free-to-play actioner is coming later this month, and in addition to adding the town of Rocheste, the patch will also add a PvP system to the game. The update, titled Rocheste Royal Cadets, will enable dungeon-based PvP via friend challenges and is the first of seven planned PvP-centric patches in the works. This month's update also brings a new storyline to Vindictus as well as a transformation ability that lets you choose the path of the Paladin or that of the Dark Knight. There's also a new bad guy in town, and as you might surmise from his name, Black Hammer carries a giant warhammer. Finally, the Rocheste Royal Cadets update will add three new expertise skills: tailoring, armorsmithing, and goldsmithing. Check out all the upcoming goodies in a new video after the break.
