<div style="text-align: left;">We just got a hands-on with the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/08/huawei-ideos-x3-and-ideos-s7-slim-tablet-revealed-en-route-to-mw?icid=sphere_blogsmith_inpage_engadget">Huawei IDEOS S7 Slim</a>, a 7-inch Android tablet which will be priced at $300. Huawei was unable to provide us with any information beyond pricing, but here's what we've gathered. The 7-inch touchscreen is capacitive, unlike <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/03/huawei-s7-runs-1ghz-snapdragon-and-android-2-1-like-a-champ-at-c/">the model we played with before</a>, and the tablet is running a slightly customized skin on top of Android 2.2. Build quality is solid and the device is satisfyingly thin and light. There are cameras front and back and a microSD card slot and a docking port on the bottom edge. We spied a SIM slot underneath the battery, so it's likely that the model we used features 3G. We hope to have more details for you soon -- in the meantime, feast your eyes on the gallery below.</div>

Huawei, the company whose name rhymes with the typical response of "<a href="http://mobile.engadget.com/tag/huawei">who are they</a>," has uploaded a few images to its Flickr page teasing new hardware bound for this year's Mobile World Congress. First up is the IDEOS X3, an Android handset seemingly set to provide a more budget-oriented family mate to the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/06/huawei-ideos-x5-hands-on/">X5</a>. It has two cameras, one on the front and one on the back, three Android buttons, and at least four different color options (red, blue, silver and black). The Barcelona event will see it joined by an IDEOS <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/03/huawei-s7-runs-1ghz-snapdragon-and-android-2-1-like-a-champ-at-c/">S7</a> Slim tablet, also running Google's mobile OS, though our knowledge about that device doesn't extend any further than noting it too has a front-facing camera. Check it out after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/08/huawei-ideos-x3-and-ideos-s7-slim-tablet-revealed-en-route-to-mw/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Huawei IDEOS X3 and IDEOS S7 Slim tablet revealed en route to MWC launch</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/02/08/huawei-ideos-x3-and-ideos-s7-slim-tablet-revealed-en-route-to-mw/">Huawei IDEOS X3 and IDEOS S7 Slim tablet revealed en route to MWC launch</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 08 Feb 2011 08:26:00 EST. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Huawei/">Huawei</a>'s Ideos S7. We loved it <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/03/huawei-s7-runs-1ghz-snapdragon-and-android-2-1-like-a-champ-at-c/">in June</a> (resistive touchscreen notwithstanding), <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/26/expansys-becomes-exclusive-retailer-for-huawei-s7-andriod-tablet/">Expansys</a> picked it up a few weeks later, and now Best Buy is also joining in on the phone. The 7-inch Android tablet -- with kickstand -- is now but a listing on the US retailer's website, "coming soon" for $299.99. Store pickup is coming soon, but shipping availability is November 7th... no matter how expedited you make the order. If it's any consolation, that's still before the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/GalaxyTab/">Galaxy Tab</a>.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/10/27/huawei-s7-gets-best-buy-listing-for-299-99-not-shipping-until/">Huawei S7 gets Best Buy listing for $299.99, not shipping until November 7th</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 27 Oct 2010 08:16:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">Huawei's Android-based, Snapdragon-powered <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/03/huawei-s7-runs-1ghz-snapdragon-and-android-2-1-like-a-champ-at-c/">S7 tablet</a> certainly managed to impress at Computex earlier this month, and it looks like you'll soon be able to get one yourself -- UK retailer Expansys has announced that it'll be the first to carry it and, for the time being at least, the only place to get one. Somewhat curiously, Expansys lists a <span class="normaltext">768MHz </span>Snapdragon <span class="normaltext">processor, not 1GHz as we had heard before, but the rest of the specs are right in line. That includes Android 2.1, a 7-inch WVGA display, 3G and WiFi connectivity, a 2-megapixel camera, and a microSD card slot for some additional storage, among other standard tablet fare. Sound like just the tablet you've been waiting for? It'll set you back &pound;299 (or about $450) and should ship within seven days.<br />

Another small mystery, solved. We caught a glimpse of Huawei's relatively undercover S7 tablet <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/11/huawei-announces-smakit-s7-android-tablet/">back in March</a>, but little was known about what would actually power the device and what operating system would be pre-installed. Here at <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Computex/">Computex</a>, we learned the facts on both of those points. Sitting pretty at Qualcomm's booth, the S7 was shown boasting a 1GHz MSM8250 <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Snapdragon/">Snapdragon</a> processor, and our hunting around in the settings confirmed that Android 2.1 was loaded onboard. The Qualcomm reps didn't have any other hard specifications available on the 7-incher (beyond those that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/03/11/huawei-announces-smakit-s7-android-tablet/">we already knew</a>), but we were able to spot a volume rocker, internal speaker, 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card slot, USB connector and a fancy kickstand around back for sitting a spell and watching multimedia. During our time with the device, we instantly fell in love with the depressible side buttons, and the <strike>capacitive</strike> resistive touchscreen was as responsive as they come. The whole thing felt speedy and light enough for our liking, and frankly, it was easily one of our favorite tablets at the entire show. We're still no closer to nailing down a price or release date, but at least you now know it's worth your while to keep an eye out for both. Vid's after the break.<br />

We've held onto our hats for quite awhile waiting for this day to come, but at long last, Viliv is dishing out the final specification lists and prices for its remarkably striking <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/s7/">S7 UMPC</a>. First shown <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/21/viliv-debuts-s5-mid-s7-umpc/">way back at IDF 2008</a> as a prototype, this QWERTY-packin' machine has matured quite nicely over the months, with a trio of models on tap to showcase its mobile prowess. The entry-level I-LOG HX is equipped with a 1.33GHz Intel Atom Z520 CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 60GB hard drive, a battery good for 9.5 hours of use and Windows XP, while the mid-range I-LOG 3X steps up to a 32GB SSD. The flagship D-LOG 3X even gets an internal DMB TV tuner, while <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/WiBro/">WiBro</a> (South Korea's WiMAX) is an option on all three. We expect the 7-inch device -- which is priced at ₩729,000 ($572), ₩799,000 ($628) and ₩849,000 ($666) in order of mention -- to ship in its homeland soon, though no official release date has been made public.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.slashgear.com/viliv-s7-umpc-gets-priced-full-spec-revealed-0748658/">SlashGear</a>]<br /><br /><strong>Update</strong>: jkkmobile has it that <a href="http://jkkmobile.blogspot.com/2009/07/viliv-s7-umpc-133ghz-first-20ghz-on.html">international versions</a> could feature processors as speedy as 2GHz along with Vista and a free upgrade to Windows 7.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/07/viliv-s7-umpc-gets-final-pricing-and-specifications/">Viliv S7 UMPC gets final pricing and specifications</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 07 Jul 2009 07:04:00 EST. Being that Release Candidate 1 just <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/04/windows-7-rc-1-now-available-for-public-consumption/">hit the tubes</a>, we weren't really expecting a big <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Windows7/">Windows 7</a> presence at Computex this year. Much to our surprise, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Viliv/">Viliv</a> has announced that it will be showcasing the first official Win7-powered MID at the Taiwan-based show later this week. The heralded <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/S5/">S5</a> will be the lucky device, with a duo of WiMAX-equipped cousins (X70 EX and S7) hanging around to demonstrate live video streaming. Needless to say, we'll be doing everything we can to drop by and see how things are going.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://asia.cnet.com/blogs/digihunter/post.htm?id=63011121">CNET</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/31/microsoft-showing-off-windows-7-powered-viliv-s5-mid-at-computex/">Microsoft showing off Windows 7-powered Viliv S5 MID at Computex</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 31 May 2009 15:03:00 EST. We just played around with Viliv's latest MIDs, the stylish <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/03/vilivs-s5-mid-goes-haptic-will-move-you-in-march/">S5</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/18/viliv-uncovers-gorgeous-x70-atom-communication-mid/">X70</a>. Both devices use haptic feedback for onscreen keyboard input, and despite the resistive screen we found them both to offer some of the best touchscreen interaction we've seen on devices like this. They were both running Windows Vista, and seemed rather responsive and usable, even with Atom under the hood. What's really impressive is the X70 (pictured), which is thinner than the S5, and also can be mounted to an optional leather case that brings a keyboard and foldability to the device, and turns the unit into a laptop of sorts. Neither device is particularly thin or light, but there's a lot of quality going on here, and for folks sold on this sort of functionality and form factor, it would be hard to do much better than these at the moment -- of course, you'll have to swim to Korea to do it. Video of the S5 is after the break.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s5-and-x70-mids-hands-on/">Viliv S5 and X70 MIDs hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s5-and-x70-mids-hands-on/#1368941"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/02/viliv-mwchands-001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s5-and-x70-mids-hands-on/#1368942"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/02/viliv-mwchands-002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s5-and-x70-mids-hands-on/#1368952"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/02/viliv-mwchands-003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s5-and-x70-mids-hands-on/#1368932"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/02/viliv-mwchands-004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s5-and-x70-mids-hands-on/#1368936"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/02/viliv-mwchands-005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/18/viliv-s5-and-x70-mids-hands-on-with-video/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Viliv S5 and X70 MIDs hands-on with video!</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/tabletpcs/" rel="tag">Tablet PCs</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/18/viliv-s5-and-x70-mids-hands-on-with-video/">Viliv S5 and X70 MIDs hands-on with video!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 18 Feb 2009 13:22:00 EST. As promised, we've made a run over to check out Viliv's forthcoming S7 netbook tablet, bringing along the ever-popular <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/vaiop">VAIO P</a> to see how the two stack up (as well as an Eee <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/1000h">1000H</a> for good measure). As you can see, the S7 actually isn't that much larger than the Sony, maybe 30 percent thicker and a little bit wider, but also a bit shorter. The thing manages to find room for a track pad on top of the keyboard, but it's an awfully small one, so thank goodness for the (non-multi) touch screen. Also small is that keyboard, which is one of the most painful we've yet experienced on a netbook, featuring arrow and punctuation keys that even a pygmy would fat-finger. But, compromises must be made when making machines small, and small this one is. Viliv has written a custom skin that overlays the Windows XP install, demonstrated in a video below. It's reasonably pleasant to use (minimizing the need to rely on that tiny trackpad), but is also easy to exit if you're not feeling it. We already know the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/vilivs-s7-ultra-portable-gets-official-specs-but-not-a-release/">specs</a> of this tiny convertible, so the only mysteries left are "when" followed immediately by "how much." The answers we received to those questions are unfortunately a bit vague: "before this summer" and a rather predictable "less than the VAIO P." We're guessing it'll be a <em>lot</em> less. Oh, and for those examining the gallery, don't worry about the rough edges you might spy: this is a pre-production S7, so things should be a good bit more polished when it hits retail.<br /><br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s7/">Viliv S7</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s7/#1278667"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/north-hall-047_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s7/#1278668"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/north-hall-033_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s7/#1278669"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/north-hall-039_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s7/#1278670"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/north-hall-034_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/viliv-s7/#1278671"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/north-hall-018_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/11/video-viliv-s7-hands-on-and-vaio-p-comparo/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: Viliv S7 hands on and VAIO P comparo</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/ces/" rel="tag">CES</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/tabletpcs/" rel="tag">Tablet PCs</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/11/video-viliv-s7-hands-on-and-vaio-p-comparo/">Video: Viliv S7 hands on and VAIO P comparo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 11 Jan 2009 13:33:00 EST. Viliv's S7 "productivity MID" got <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/21/viliv-debuts-s5-mid-s7-umpc/">announced</a> in August at the Intel Developer Forum, and, while we were impressed by the form factor and the promise, it's always hard to get too excited without a full spec sheet and an MSRP. Now at CES we're still in the dark about price (and availability), but are finally hearing just what's going on under the keyboard; Atom processors in 1.3GHz and 1.6GHz flavors, a 7-inch, 1024 x 600 screen, 1GB of RAM, and either 16GB worth of SSD or 60GB served up on platters. Wireless connectivity is handled over 802.11b/g, WiMAX, and HSDPA, and the device promises "blueray HD video playback" -- which we're taking to mean it can display 1080p footage without completely choking, but we're not sure just where that video would come from given the lack of optical drive. But, hey, look at that sexy picture! Rest assured we'll <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/09/vaio-p-vs-eee-pc-fight/">prop this up</a> against a VAIO P as soon as we can get our hands on one. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.umpcportal.com/2009/01/sony-vaio-p-watch-out-viliv-s7-official-specs">UMPC Portal</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/robots/" rel="tag">Robots</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/tabletpcs/" rel="tag">Tablet PCs</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/10/vilivs-s7-ultra-portable-gets-official-specs-but-not-a-release/">Viliv's S7 ultra-portable gets official specs, but not a release date</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 10 Jan 2009 04:08:00 EST. Viliv got us salivating when it introduced the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/21/viliv-debuts-s5-mid-s7-umpc/">S5 MID and S7 UMPC</a> back at IDF, and now we've got a few tasty updates on both. Starting with the former, we've learned via an interview with parent company Yukyung that the S5 MID will come packing a 1.33GHz Intel Atom CPU, 1GB of RAM, a 1.8-inch hard drive (1.3-inch when paired with a WiBro module in South Korea), a 4.8-inch 800 x 480 resolution touchscreen, integrated GPS / DMB and a primary battery good for up to six hours of use. The OS will be a home cooked system that's fairly attractive, though the outfit has made clear that WinXP versions will be available in the future. Speaking of the future, the currently unpriced S5 is expected to ship in South Korea this coming January or February, while the S7 is still on track for release sometime after that.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.slashgear.com/viliv-s5-mid-coming-early-2009-1080p-hd-touchscreen-optional-3g-2327532/">Slashgear</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/23/vilivs-atom-powered-s5-mid-gets-detailed-pictured/">Viliv's Atom-powered S5 MID gets detailed and pictured</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 23 Dec 2008 10:05:00 EST. <div align="left">It's been quite a while since <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/viliv">Viliv</a> last popped up on our radar, but the company has just rolled into <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/idf">IDF</a> with a pair of new devices to rectify that situation, including the S5 MID and S7 UMPC. From the looks of it, the S7 (pictured above) is the more interesting of the two, with it sporting a convertible form factor, the usual Atom processor, built-in GPS, and an integrated Wimax or HSDPA module. Pricing doesn't look to have been nailed down just yet, but the company is apparently looking to launch it in the first quarter of 2009. The S5 (after the break), on the other hand, looks to be a fairly run of the mill MID, although UMPC Portal says that a 3G option is "possible," and its promised video playback time of five to six hours is certainly respectable enough. No word on a price or release date for it either, but you can check out some more pics and videos of each device by digging into the links below.<br /><br />P.S. We should note that the S7 is still in the "final design stages." We hear that last "P" is always the toughest.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.umpcportal.com/2008/08/viliv-s5-mid/">Read</a> - UMPC Portal, "Viliv S5 MID"<br /><a href="http://www.umpcportal.com/2008/08/viliv-s7-atom-based-umpc/">Read</a> - UMPC Portal, "Viliv S7 Atom-based UMPC"</div>

Besides having one of, if not, <span style="font-style: italic;">the best </span><a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/iriver">product showings</a> at CES 2008, iriver also had one of the most high-tech booths. Gone were the booth babes and ignorant product hacks -- replaced instead by virgin-white cases and interactive displays which allowed their products to speak for themselves. Fortunately, we also had the chance to confirm one of the most peculiar icon choices in CE history: the raised-dog icon on their <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/s7">S7</a>... yes, he's really treating the booth like his own personal fire hydrant. See a video tour of the booth after the break.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/iriver-booth-tour/">iriver booth tour</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/iriver-booth-tour/#575660"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/iriver2008cesboothtour014_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/iriver-booth-tour/#575658"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/iriver2008cesboothtour012_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/iriver-booth-tour/#575657"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/iriver2008cesboothtour011_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/iriver-booth-tour/#575647"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/iriver2008cesboothtour03_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/iriver-booth-tour/#575652"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2008/01/iriver2008cesboothtour06_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/11/video-irivers-wee-ces-2008-booth-tour/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Video: iriver's wee CES 2008 booth tour</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/11/video-irivers-wee-ces-2008-booth-tour/">Video: iriver's wee CES 2008 booth tour</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 11 Jan 2008 13:04:00 EST. Last year, iriver introduced the clix, known as the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/01/13/video-feature-the-iriver-u10-future-plans/">U10</a> elsewhere. Well, the second gen model looks like it's hit the gym and slimmed down to a much more attractive exterior. Yeah, we could go on for hours about the stylish clix 2, the W10, the S10 or any of their other products they're flaunting, but instead we've got a painstakingly crafted vid for y'all's to enjoy. Of course, you could always <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/iriver/">read up</a> on these devices, but to see us see them in person, well, that's something special.<br /><br />[<a href="http://www.engadget.com/videos/ces07/iRiver2007.mp4">MP4</a>] Download the video<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portablevideo/" rel="tag">Portable Video</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/09/video-irivers-2007-ces-lineup/">Video: iriver's 2007 CES lineup</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 09 Jan 2007 02:15:00 EST. The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/11/irivers-s7-digital-audio-player-stickers-yes-display-no/">iriver S7</a> is alive, and it's brown, and small... iPod shuffle small as you can see from that pic above. The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2005/01/12/creatives-ceo-disses-the-ipod-shuffle-thems-fightin-words/">display-less</a> S7 measures in at 40 x 32 x 9.6-mm / 15-g compared to the shuffle's 41 x 27 x 10.5-mm / 15.5-g. However, unlike the shuffle's integrated clip, the S7 dangles from a lanyard in choice of five colors. What's more, the chicken-goat (choat... gicken?) and leg-raising-dog come standard issue on <em>every</em> player -- that's no skin, son. Yeah, c|net was surprised too. For whatever reason, the animals represent volume controls whereas the humans muster up the sense to fast forward or reverse your ASF, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, WMA audio. Don't worry, as we mentioned yesterday, there are plenty of skins you can apply to the faceplate. Oddly (as if it could get any stranger), c|net says there isn't a way to pause playback or preset FM radio stations. That's ok, their full report is coming so maybe they'll figure it out. Stay tuned as they say. More pics after the break. <br /><br />[Thanks, Misticriver Fanboy]<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/12/irivers-s7-previewed-long-live-the-choat/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>IRiver's S7 previewed, long live the choat!</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/portableaudio/" rel="tag">Portable Audio</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/12/12/irivers-s7-previewed-long-live-the-choat/">IRiver's S7 previewed, long live the choat!</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 12 Dec 2006 08:08:00 EST. It's a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=pentax">Pentax</a>, it's an <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=optio">Optio</a>, it's got a 7 megapixel sensor, face recognition, DivX / MPEG-4 VGA video recording, optical image stabilization, a 2.5-inch display, 23MB memory, 3x optical zoom, SDHC support, and a name: the S7. Nothing we haven't all seen before; another day, another model. This one will happen to run you $300 (or less) come September.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/digitalcameras/" rel="tag">Digital Cameras</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2006/07/25/pentax-announces-optio-s7/">Pentax announces Optio S7</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 25 Jul 2006 05:47:00 EST.
