More beauty from Samsung today and this time in the form of a triple-band GSM handset using 900 / 1800 / 1900 MHz with a sprinkling of 3G -- though no word on what type. Like its siblings (the SCH-B660, SPH-B6600, and SPH-B6650) the Z248 comes with interchangeable front and rear covers in pearl white, scarlet red, indigo blue, blue jean (our fave, of course), sweet pink, glam gold, and lemon green. Packing a 1.3 megapixel camera, built-in Google search, 2.1 inch front and 128 X 32 external screens, we warmed up to its flipping beauty in a flash. We've been painstakingly waiting for some new concept in changeable faceplates and handset color schemes to come along since Nokia basically invented that market six or seven years ago swappable faceplates. Hey, if Apple can be successful with fruity-colored iMacs, why can't cellphone manufacturers, right? Anyway, Samsung's new 'color jacket phone' for its home-field Anycall brand of handsets in South Korea looks to have seven interchangeable covers to choose from. And, to get those adjective-based minds racing, the colors offered will include scarlet red, pearl white, indigo blue, blue jean, sweet pink, gram gold, and lemon green. Some of those sound good enough to eat -- except the denim one.
