Sometimes you find an app that stands out because it's different and does something fun. One such app is Satellite Eyes from technologist and engineer Tom Taylor. It's a simple OS X app that sits in your menu tray and uses your location information to replace your desktop wallpaper with an overhead satellite view or map view of the surrounding area. Every time you move to a new location, you automatically get a new wallpaper. How cool is that? You won't find this gem in the Mac App Store (you can read Taylor's story of Mac App Store rejection on his blog), but you can download it for free from the Satellite Eyes website.
