All of you Pokemaniacs out there, unbridled excitement was undoubtedly yours when the rumor broke out that a new Pokemon title is on the way. Seeing as how the franchise enjoys incredible amounts of success with each new release, it would be foolish to think that a new Pokemon game is not going to be headed to the DS.Then, we all got our eyes on a blurry scan from CoroCoro Comic. And, the world changed. But, we're glad to report, some good soul managed to snag a better version of the scan and uploaded it for all to see. So, knock it off with the squinting and check out the clear view of Pokemon Platinum.[Via Go Nintendo]

  • Gyakuten Kenji's mysterious girl revealed (sort of)

"Ohhhhhh-a-ohh-a-ohh, mysterious girl, I wanna get close to you."We don't usually kick off the week with a spot of Peter Andre, but the Australian warbler's hit seemed mildly appropriate today, seeing as Ace Attorney spin-off Gyakuten Kenji (Turnabout Prosecutor) has a mysterious girl of its own. The shadowy figure to the right appeared on the most recent cover of Nintendo Dream alongside Miles Edgeworth and Detective Gumshoe, and has immediately set tongues wagging in the Ace Attorney fan community.Cruelly, the magazine remains tight-lipped about who or what she is, revealing only her age (seventeen), and that she is a "major character." Could she be an assistant to Edgeworth, as Maya was to Phoenix? That seems most likely to us. We'll tell you who we most of us would like her to be, however: Edgeworth's love interest. The collective howl from the lawyer's legion of female admirers would be deafening (yet amusing).Turnabout past the break for some snippets of scans.Read: Nintendo Dream scans (scroll halfway down)Read: Direct-feed screenshots from scans%Gallery-20451%

Let's face it -- most of us didn't care much about Soma Bringer until we saw a plethora of awesome videos for the game last week. Now that Nintendo and Monolith Soft have gotten our attention, though, we can't get enough of it. Because of this, we were excited to see more Soma Bringer scans leaked around the internets. With a scan explosion to match last week's video explosion, these magazine pages show tons of art and screens for the game. They're definitely worth a look by anyone anticipating this title or hoping for localization. Check after the break for eight more of them.

It looks like the focus here is on stylus controls and how players will execute everything through the touch screen, from the mundane regular attack to the destructive special attack. Click image to enlarge Under the developmental wing of Monolith Soft, Soma Bringer is a title we don't know that much about. Sure, we've seen lots of pretty screens (which you can see in our gallery below) and know the title will be an action RPG, allowing the player to string various combos together. The player will also be able to command a three-person party.Well, we know a little about the game. But, what we want to know about is the rich story, what with it being an RPG and all. Unless we can read Japanese magazine scans (see: we can't), we'll just have to settle for looking at screens and our imagination for now.Head past the break for the other scan.%Gallery-8412%

For those of you who might have steered clear of Guitar Hero III because the price was just too high for you, take note: Toys R Us is now offering up the bundle for $69.99, which is $20 less than its normal price. With that extra coin, you could pick up a classic controller or just pocket the cash. Getting the wireless Les Paul that comes bundled in for $20 less than everyone else would make us feel so special, if you ask us.Head on past the break for a look at the ad for the price drop.

While much of what is available at JeuxFrance is already available in our gallery below, they do have something new to bring to the table regarding Infinite Frontier Super Robot Wars OG Saga (original ... gangsta?). You see, one of the main characters from the popular RPG franchise Xenosaga has made her way into Monolith Soft's game. It's none other than KOS-MOS.As a person who only played some of the first Xenosaga, this blogger doesn't know what kind of signature attacks or abilities to expect in the new game from KOS-MOS, but understands full well the power of cross-promotion. Whatever helps them push units, right? Well, we know some of you out there enjoyed the incredibly long Xenosaga games, so if that's you, tell us what you think and head past the break for the Famitsu scans.%Gallery-14186%

Fans of spin-off game Pokémon Ranger will be happy to hear a sequel is in the works. A couple of scans made their way over to NeoGAF and, as they say, the rest is history. Not being one to pick up the original title, this blogger doesn't know how to feel about a sequel. So, tell us what you think?Did you like the first game? What did you enjoy about it? What did you dislike about it?

And, as intrigued as we were when it was initially thought to be a card-based game, we're now even more interested in what the game will bring to the DS. Sakaguchi never disappoints, after all.

Click image to enlarge The latest issue of Japanese gaming mag Famitsu has a nice two-page spread on Team Ninja's upcoming DS entry in the kill-em-all-bloodfest of a franchise, Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword. We're not only excited to give this game a whirl because of the already-mentioned amount of killing Ryu will undoubtedly do, but also because the control scheme seems like it could pave the way for more games of this type. At this point, we're fairly convinced that Ninja Gaiden: Dragon Sword can cure every single problem we have in our life. Any of you feel the same way? %Gallery-4937%

We've seen plenty of scans and screens for the upcoming Away: Shuffle Dungeon. Being developed by Mistwalker, Hironobu Sakaguchi's new development studio and Artoon's Naoto Oshima, it's a unique title in that the environments will be ever-shifting and ever-changing, allowing for quite the replay value, we assume. These latest scans come courtesy of Famitsu, so be sure to head past the break and give them a look over.

Yet another scan has popped up for Rune Factory 2, as the game is coming out next week in Japan. There's still no announced plans to bring the title elsewhere, but even if there were, we probably won't see this game in English for another year. If you're oh-so-patiently (grumble) waiting for the game like we are, check after the break for one more teasing scan.

Good news, Gundam fans! (And we know you must be out there, or else there wouldn't be so many games based on this anime franchise.) Namco Bandai just announced a new title for the DS that's scheduled for release in March 2008. The game will be based on the most recent Gundam series, Gundam OO. Of course, like the G Generation games, these probably won't be released outside of Japan (blame your respective countries for not loving anime enough, the fools), but we're sure hardcores won't mind importing. Also, if you love a good dose of mech porn giant gun-toting robots, Famitsu scans of the game are sitting pretty after the break.

Will Dragon Quest V ever be released outside of Japan? We certainly hope so. As for now, though, we'll just have to look at scans of a game that we very well may never get to play, like kids outside of a candy store. Oh Square Enix, how you can be so cruel to us sometimes. Another trailer has popped up for (deep breath) Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Young King and the Promised Land, which introduces two of game's main characters. Aside from that (and some pretty Wii Ware graphics), though, this true-to-form Square Enix trailer doesn't really show us much in terms of gameplay. Still, the mystery of it all is enough to make us want it, and we're really looking forward to the coming of Wii Ware ... since, you know, we hate money and want to get rid of it as fast as possible. Also, the game has stopped bumming off the offical Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles website, as its own official site launched this week. You can check it out here, if you feel so inclined. If that's not enough to quell your burning desire for Promised Land goodness (insatiable pigs, the lot of you), check after the break for some Famitsu scans.

Move over, Exit -- there's a new rescue game in town. Away, the latest from Mistwalker, and a joint effort from Hironobu Sakaguchi and Artoon's Naoto Oshima, is set to challenge players with rescuing villagers from peril in a shifting environment. Traveling on the bottom screen? Look out, the top screen may change -- and vice versa -- and players find themselves stuck waiting until the shifting has stopped before they can move on. It certainly sounds like an interesting concept, especially when rescued villagers return home to build up their town. It sounds like the more you save, the bigger the game can get. While Away: Shuffle Dungeon certainly sounds like it could be a blast, we can't help but raise an eyebrow at the look. Oh, the environments and monster designs are fine, and maybe even great, but the characters ... they look somewhat reminiscent of MySims characters, if the MySims characters in question were very stoned and possibly annoyed. Or blank-faced and cheerful. That girl just gives us the willies. If she's in danger, we might just leave her behind. Hit the jump to see the full scans for yourself.

Dragon Quest IV for the DS hit stores yesterday in Japan, and since that nation seems to still exist, apparently there was a large enough supply to at least stave off Armageddon. Per Jeux-France, gamers in Japan snapped up a rumored 360,000 copies in the first day, so we can only assume that there is a whole lot of questing going on today. But what's a release without a few last minute pages in Famitsu? The magazine laid out a sweet new spread to welcome the title, and you can see it for yourself after the break.

There would be more dungeons, which we may or may not need to crawl around, and it would also feature a lot of character customization and other genre staples. No big whoop, right? Wrong.
