Whether you like it old school or new, techno DJ/producer Jeff Mills has the disc for you. Manufactured by Optimal Media using tech it introduced a few years back, the disc features a 5-inch vinyl pressing on one side and a digital CD on the other. But for $35, it had better ship with an adapter to keep it centered on the turntable's spindle (unlike the picture above). If the vinyl/CD hybrid isn't kooky enough for your experimental tastes then why not consider sharing your talent on Optimal Media's scratch and sniff discs -- why should the stench of stale beer mixed with gastric acid be limited to your live shows?<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/vinyl-record-and-cd-hybrid-disc-unites-young-and-old/">Vinyl record and CD hybrid disc unites young and old</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/vinyl-record-and-cd-hybrid-disc-unites-young-and-old/#3089591"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/06/jeffmillsoccurrencesleeperwakes4-525x514_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/vinyl-record-and-cd-hybrid-disc-unites-young-and-old/#3089592"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/06/jeffmillsoccurrencesleeperwakes3-525x422_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/vinyl-record-and-cd-hybrid-disc-unites-young-and-old/#3089593"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2010/06/jeffmillsoccurrencesleeperwakes2-525x350_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/17/jeff-mills-vinyl-and-cd-hybrid-disc-unites-young-and-old/">Jeff Mills' vinyl and CD hybrid disc unites young and old</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 17 Jun 2010 05:14:00 EST. After being announced among of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/08/23/asus-launches-a-slew-of-new-laptops/">a slew of other machines</a> late last month, the FV6 series of Fragrance Notebooks is up for sale right now. $1,274.99 gets you the FV6-C1, which evidently smells just like the color blue. We're sure the TSA will just <em>love</em> your explanation for this.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://blog.laptopmag.com/asus-f6v-scented-notebooks-for-sale-online">LaptopMag</a>, thanks Rasmi]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/23/asus-fv6-scented-laptops-now-on-sale-gotta-smell-em-all/">ASUS' FV6 scented laptops now on sale: gotta smell 'em all</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 23 Sep 2008 02:26:00 EST. There was a time in the not-too-distant past when if your apartment, dorm room or palatial mansion smelled like Cheetos, Diet Coke and unwashed laundry, there was simply nothing USB-related you could <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/16/debreus-scent-drive-brings-aroma-to-the-flash-drive/">do about it</a>. Sure, there were wall outlet fragrance "plug ins," scented candles, canned air fresheners, and of course windows which could be opened -- but not one of those was <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2004/05/10/usb-powered-frangrance-diffuser/">USB-powered</a>. Of course, those days are long gone, because a random Chinese sweatshop has dreamed up another modern-day marvel: the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2004/03/06/usb-powered-fragrance-oil-burner/">USB oil burner</a>. If you're like us (and we think you are), there's <em>nothing</em> you want to do more than pour scented oil into something that plugs into your computer. Available in rose and peppermint, $7 each.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/gadgets/" rel="tag">Misc. While not nearly as lavish as <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/02/16/debreus-scent-drive-brings-aroma-to-the-flash-drive/">Debreu's Scent Drive</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=MICRODIA">MICRODIA</a> is delivering its own set of scented <a href="http://www.engadget.com/search/?q=flash%20drives">flash drives</a> for those who just can't keep their USB storage away from those nostrils. Reportedly, the USB 2.0 Fruity Flash Keys will arrive in four different flavors, so those who tend to prefer strawberry, grape, green apple, or (Engadget's personal favorite) orange should be thrilled by the selection. Each drive will supposedly be available in sizes ranging from a mere 128MB to 4GB, and while pricing and availability details aren't yet available, we'll keep our nose to the ground for any future information.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.gearlog.com/2007/07/fruity_smelly_usb_flash_drives.php">Gearlog</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/storage/" rel="tag">Storage</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2007/07/26/microdias-fruity-usb-flash-drives-now-in-four-great-scents/">MICRODIA's Fruity USB flash drives: now in four great scents</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 26 Jul 2007 07:01:00 EST.
