Borderlands 2 is coming to PS Vita in the spring, Sony head of hardware marketing John Koller announced at a PlayStation event in Santa Monica today. Vita's Borderlands 2 includes six bits of DLC, and it will allow four-player co-op and cross-play with access to save games from the PS3 version. The included DLC packs are Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty, Mr. Torgue's Campaign of Carnage, the Psycho, the Mechromancer, Ultimate Vault Hunter Upgrade Pack 1 and Collector's Edition Pack. The new, slimmer Vita will launch in North America this spring, bundled with Borderlands 2 and an 8GB memory card for $200. The remodeled Vita hit the UK on February 7 for £180 (just under $300), following its launch in Japan last year. This new Vita is 20 percent thinner, 15 percent lighter, has an LCD screen rather than OLED, 1GB memory and a micro USB slot. A God of War collection and a Sly Cooper collection are also on their way to Vita, courtesy of Sanzaru Games. The God of War bundle contains God of War 1 and 2, and is due out on May 6. The Sly Collection includes Sly Cooper and the Thievius Racconus, Sly 2: Band of Thieves and Sly 3: Honor Among Thieves, and launches on May 27. Borderlands 2 is 2K's highest-selling game ever, with more than 8.5 million units shipped. [Image: Sony]

The Sly Collection, a high-definition bundle of the raccoon's most daring heists, will be available though PSN on November 29. Sanzaru Games president Glen Egan made the announcement deep down in the comments of a PS Blog post about the upcoming Sly Cooper: Thieves in Time. The digitally distributed version appears to include everything that was in the retail title, with support for Trophies and stereoscopic 3D. Launched as a retail pack last year, the collection can be purchased as a bundle on PSN for $29.99, or as individual games for $9.99 each. The HD collection is currently available on Amazon for $19.99. [Thanks, Colin.]

  • Sly Trilogy gets its trilogy of PAL release dates

The Sly Cooper Collection is a compilation of three separate games, so it's only fitting that the PS3 disc follow the standard of three separate release dates for PAL regions, where it's called The Sly Trilogy. The ported rodent caper collection will arrive first in PAL territories other than the UK and Australia on December 1. Its release in Australia will follow on Dec. 2, and then it comes to the UK and Ireland on Dec. 3. If that's too long to wait, you could either import it from the US right now -- or, you know, break out your copies of the PS2 versions.

If collecting virtual Trophies has become something of an addiction, you should be playing close attention to Sly Cooper Collection. Like God of War Collection before it, each game will feature its own Platinum -- meaning, you'll be able to get up to three Platinum Trophies in this HD remix. However, there are a few PlayStation Move mini-games being added, meaning you'll likely need to buy a Move if you want to get every possible Trophy.

The Sly Cooper Collection will be revealed tomorrow as part of the Sony press conference. A blurry image on 1UP, taken at the as-yet-unopened PlayStation booth, not only announces the title but also touts 3D support as one of its key features. An independent source confirmed to Joystiq that Sly Cooper Collection is very much a real thing, and that other PS2 HD remixes are likely to be seen during the show. It seems like we can cross at least one box off our bingo card.
