Like the Keyboard Folio, the just-announced Wireless Solar Keyboard K760 works with iPads, but it's also compatible with Macs and iPhones. The K760 has Bluetooth for pairing up to three devices at a time, and it features Mac-specific keys such as Brightness, Command and Eject. Users should get about three months of use after the keyboard is fully charged up via sun or indoor light. We got to do a bit of typing with the K760, and are happy to report that it's a fairly well-built little grid. The deck feels solid, and the keys have a decent depth to them when pressed. Plus, the spun metal power button and the silver flake paint job lend a premium appearance. It'll cost $80 when it goes on sale next month, and you can get a closer look at what those dollars will buy in our gallery below. Head past the break for the full PR.<div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/logitech-wireless-solar-keyboard-k760/">Logitech Wireless Solar Keyboard K760</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/logitech-wireless-solar-keyboard-k760/#5052180"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/dsc01613_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/logitech-wireless-solar-keyboard-k760/#5052181"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/dsc01615_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/logitech-wireless-solar-keyboard-k760/#5052182"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/dsc01616_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/logitech-wireless-solar-keyboard-k760/#5052183"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/dsc01617_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/logitech-wireless-solar-keyboard-k760/#5052184"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2012/05/dsc01618_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div></p><p> <em>Michael Gorman contributed to this report</em></p><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/30/logitech-outs-apple-friendly-wireless-solar-keyboard-k760-we-go/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Logitech outs Apple-friendly Wireless Solar Keyboard K760, we go hands-on</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2012/05/30/logitech-outs-apple-friendly-wireless-solar-keyboard-k760-we-go/">Logitech outs Apple-friendly Wireless Solar Keyboard K760, we go hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 30 May 2012 13:13:00 EST. There's nothing worse than <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/06/apple-patent-application-hints-at-solar-powered-iphone/">losing the charge on your iPhone</a> at the company picnic. But fear not, you won't be stranded Twitter-less next to the potato salad if UCLA's new energy recycling LCD technology ever makes it to market. According to its inventors, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/03/17/lcd-technology-torn-down-and-explained-in-the-most-lucid-and-acc/">traditional LCD</a> polarization process loses as much as 75 percent of light energy -- something that eats around 80 to 90 percent of the device's power. By using polarizing organic photovoltaic cells, however, the LCD-packing gizmo can recycle its own lost backlight energy, keeping itself charged for longer. What's really cool is these cells can recycle indoor or outdoor light as well, so you will essentially never lose a charge -- or have to speak to another human IRL again. Full PR after the break.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/11/photovoltaic-polarizers-could-make-self-charging-smartphone-drea/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Photovoltaic polarizers could make self-charging smartphone dreams come true</em></a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/08/11/photovoltaic-polarizers-could-make-self-charging-smartphone-drea/">Photovoltaic polarizers could make self-charging smartphone dreams come true</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 11 Aug 2011 01:03:00 EST. Summer's nearly here, the sun shining bright -- wouldn't you like to share your tunes with friends while basking in the light? That's what Eton's counting on as it prepares to ship the Soulra XL, the solar-powered iPod boombox <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/04/eton-mobius-charges-your-iphone-with-solar-power-eton-soulra-2/">formerly known as the Soulra 2</a>. As we discovered at CES in January, its set of eight speakers get pretty loud, and Eton claims it charges twice as fast <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/06/02/eton-sourla-ipod-sound-system-is-rugged-splash-proof-and-solar/">as its predecessor</a> (five hours) thanks to a sizable monocrystal solar panel, and lasts five hours on a charge. It'll juice your phone, too. All told, you'll be schlepping around seven pounds and paying $300 for the privilege of completely cordless mobile sound. Sound like a deal? You'll find Eton ready to shake your hand at our source link.<p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/08/etons-soulra-xl-solar-powered-ipod-boombox-will-cost-300-now/">Eton's Soulra XL solar-powered iPod boombox will cost $300, now ready for your pre-orders</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 08 May 2011 05:08:00 EST. We've seen <a target="_blank" href="http://www.engadget.com/2010/05/17/kiwi-choice-launches-u-powered-usb-portable-solar-charger/">plenty</a> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/12/22/energizers-rechargeable-solar-charger-gets-detailed-pictured/">of</a> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.engadget.com/2011/01/31/um-students-make-cheap-and-portable-solar-charger-light-source/">portable</a> <a target="_blank" href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/solar%20charger">solar chargers</a> in our time, but few have looked quite as versatile as B-Squares -- a new collection of 3D modular energy storage devices that can be arranged in various configurations, according to the kind of gadget you're looking to juice. Developed by MIT grads Jordan McRae and Shawn Frayne, each solar-powered B-Square features a sticky microsuction surface, along with magnetic and electric contacts at each corner, making it easy to connect and arrange them in different formations. Rotating a single square will change its electrical circuit, depending on its adjacent connection. Some B-Squares, for example, feature LED surfaces, allowing you to create solar-powered lanterns, while others have solar panels, or simply serve as rechargeable battery sources. There's even a square devoted to <a target="_blank" href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Arduino/">Arduino</a> boards, along with another surface designed to dock and charge iPhones. McRae and Frayne have already put together a full "recipe book" of different configurations, though the DIY route seems a lot more enticing to us. Their B-Squares are set to leave the prototype phase on May 1st, at an as yet unspecified price. Check them out in video action after the break.<br />
