  • My Warlords of Draenor dreams

I worry that I'm getting too excited for Warlords of Draenor. Letting my head run away from my heart, so to speak. I've done it before - pretty much before every expansion, I got super excited and imagined up a whole host of ideas for what the expansion was going to be like and all the cool things we were going to get to do and sometimes they came true and sometimes they didn't. Wrath of the Lich King ended up disappointing me greatly, because the Northrend I'd imagined wasn't even close to the Northrend we got (and to people who loved Wrath I probably sound like a crazy person) while Cataclysm ended up going so far beyond the revamp I expected that to this day I'm still very fond of it as a 1 to 60 experience. It started the transformation of the Horde/Alliance balance to one of much closer parity. Mists has been an interesting experience in that regard, in that I simply didn't expect the Pandaria we got at all, but I'm fairly happy with that - the hozen, jinyu, mogu, grummies and saurok are all far more interesting to me and did a lot to make Pandaria far from a monolithic experience. And so, I sit here imagining all sorts of things for Warlords and wondering how much of any of it I'll get to see.

Not satisfied with the launch of its newest creation, the Galaxy S III, Sammy's taken the wraps off of yet another member of the famed galactic family: welcome the Galaxy R Style. While Samsung isn't coming out and saying it, the device is essentially a follow-up to last year's 4.2-inch Galaxy R -- and although the handset keeps a similar form factor, it's changed quite a bit on the inside. For example, the 4.3-inch (960 x 540), 9.79mm thin R Style now houses an LTE chip, 16GB of onboard storage and a TouchWiz flavor of Ice Cream Sandwich. As if that wasn't enough, the slab also packs a 1.5GHz Snapdragon S4 CPU and a 5-megapixel camera to take care of those filtered Instagram shots -- all while being powered by a 2000 mAh battery. Samsung's R Style will be priced at 700,000 won (around $590) when it goes on sale in South Korea later this year. If we were there, we'd take two. %Gallery-156535%

The Left 4 Dead 2 announcement at the Microsoft press conference gobsmacked us this morning (didn't they just release Left 4 Dead like last November? What is this, Madden?), but apparently the sneaky folks at Rock Paper Shotgun weren't surprised: they've already seen the game in action. We're hoping to see it this week ourselves, but until then, here's a few juicy zombie tidbits to hold you over: the game takes place in the Southern United States, and the five campaigns will take you on a Southern odyssey from Savannah to New Orleans. There are four new characters also: a rough high school coach who's used to taking charge, a female cable news reporter, a rustic Southern mechanic type, and a Sawyer-style con man. The characters keep the snappy dialogue, and the campaigns will tell an overarching story as you move through them.

  • South Park and the Wii

If you're one who enjoys their Wednesday nights in the form of watching South Park, perhaps sipping on a cup of hot Earl Grey, then you undoubtedly caught last night's episode featuring show staple Eric Cartman and his attempts to get his hands on the Wii. His desperation for the console -- something we know all too well here -- went so far that he attempted to freeze himself in order to instantaneously time travel to November 19th for the console's release. Instead, things went wrong and Cartman found himself frozen for some 500+ odd years -- to a future where atheists were at war and somehow sea otters evolved to the point where they could talk and use assault rifles. Sadly, the episode is to-be-continued, so before we can see Cartman get his hands on a Wii -- which we assume will be next week's ending -- we're just going to have to wait.

Before we dive into the actual story, lets just take a minute to sit back and appreciate just how fantastically bizarre that title is....Ok then! Mac daddy Steve Wozniak has announced that in December 2007, he and Moon man Buzz Aldrin (second person ever to set foot on the Moon) will participate in an expedition to the South Pole in which the intrepid explorers will be conveyed by Hydrogen fuel cell powered H1 Hummers. The Apple co-founder revealed his plans at Stanford University's AlwaysOn conference. The modern day eco-friendly adventure will be filmed using 3D cameras for use in an upcoming James Cameron film. According to Woz, the team has received significant input from the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, which runs three of its buses on fuel cells. [via Cult of Mac]
