We thought it'd be a good idea to get all touchy-feely with Dell's latest -- and its most family friendly -- all-in-one, the <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/studoone19">Studio One 19</a>, and while there are things we like, there are certainly a bunch of things that we wish they had done differently. Although it's already gotten some <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/19/dell-studio-one-19-reviewed-deemed-totally-sufficient-but-not-a/">lukewarm reviews</a>, we decided to put it through its paces and check it out for ourselves. Click on after the break for more of our impressions and what we really thought about this interesting machine.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/dell-studio-one-19-unboxing1/">Dell Studio One 19 unboxing</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/dell-studio-one-19-unboxing1/#2026466"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/05/2009-05-20-studioone19-1_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/dell-studio-one-19-unboxing1/#2026467"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/05/2009-05-20-studioone19-2_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/dell-studio-one-19-unboxing1/#2026468"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/05/2009-05-20-studioone19-3_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/dell-studio-one-19-unboxing1/#2026470"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/05/2009-05-20-studioone19-4_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/dell-studio-one-19-unboxing1/#2026472"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/05/2009-05-20-studioone19-5_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/21/dell-studio-one-19-unboxing-hands-on-and-impressions/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dell Studio One 19 unboxing, hands-on, and impressions</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/desktops/" rel="tag">Desktops</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/mediapcs/" rel="tag">Media PCs</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/tabletpcs/" rel="tag">Tablet PCs</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/21/dell-studio-one-19-unboxing-hands-on-and-impressions/">Dell Studio One 19 unboxing, hands-on, and impressions</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 21 May 2009 16:00:00 EST. Dell's touchscreen Studio One 19's been <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/28/dells-touchy-feely-studio-one-19-lands-in-the-us-and-europe/">showboating around the States</a> for a few weeks now, so it's no surprise to see the verdicts start rolling in. <em>Computer Shopper's</em> just reviewed the unit, and while they give it points for its slim and stylish form factor, and for the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/08/dell-demos-multitouch-on-the-studio-one-19/">implementation of the touchscreen</a>, they take away a few for the cloth-laden accents, and complain that the high-end models are expensive and underpowered. They're basically fans of the lower-end configurations, but warn that they don't really think the unit would be very family friendly. There's one more shot of the 19 after the break, and hit the read link for the full review.</div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/19/dell-studio-one-19-reviewed-deemed-totally-sufficient-but-not-a/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dell Studio One 19 reviewed, deemed totally sufficient but not awesome</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/desktops/" rel="tag">Desktops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/19/dell-studio-one-19-reviewed-deemed-totally-sufficient-but-not-a/">Dell Studio One 19 reviewed, deemed totally sufficient but not awesome</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 19 May 2009 12:02:00 EST. Japan got the first crack at Dell's new multitouch all-in-one <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/studioone19">Studio One 19</a> in March, but it's finally headed our way. As expected, prices start at $699, with a Pentium E5200 Dual Core processor, GeForce 9200 integrated graphics, a 320GB HDD, 2GB of RAM and a slot-loading DVD burner in the low-end. Built-in webcams and multitouch features are present across the board. Check out a video of the multitouch functionality after the break: nothing much beyond the usual gimmicks, though we're a fan of letting your kid lay down beats with his jam-covered fingers -- that's true love.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/28/dells-touchy-feely-studio-one-19-lands-in-the-us-and-europe/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dell's touchy-feely Studio One 19 lands in the US and Europe</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/desktops/" rel="tag">Desktops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/28/dells-touchy-feely-studio-one-19-lands-in-the-us-and-europe/">Dell's touchy-feely Studio One 19 lands in the US and Europe</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 28 Apr 2009 10:09:00 EST. Dell's new all-in-one <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/studioone19">Studio One 19</a> is due to start shipping soon, and it's packing some interesting new multitouch capabilities which Dell has been kind enough to demo briefly on video. There's a new touchable launch bar, which give access to Dell's own touch-friendly apps (see the second video after the break), though Dell's Josh Duncan (video one) made sure to reiterate that gestures should carry over to non touch specific apps -- which pretty much means Internet Explorer, from what we can tell. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/05/windows-7-multitouch-its-a-gimmick-for-now/">Our own experience with Windows 7 multitouch </a>was none too impressive, and Vista's built-in single touch stuff is even worse, so hopefully Dell's not just paying lip service to making multitouch a real OS-wide phenomenon. The touch-specific apps like a photo browser and paint app are cute and gimmicky, but at least seem to match HP's TouchSmart for the most part -- plus some multitouch enhancements. What is perhaps the Studio One's biggest boon to touchability doesn't even have a thing to do with the screen or software: it tilts back on the stand, giving you a better angle to work with. Check out both videos after the break.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pocket-lint.com/news/news.phtml/23460/24484/video-dell-touch-studio-19.phtml">Pocket-lint</a>]<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/08/dell-demos-multitouch-on-the-studio-one-19/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dell demos multitouch on the Studio One 19</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/desktops/" rel="tag">Desktops</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/displays/" rel="tag">Displays</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/08/dell-demos-multitouch-on-the-studio-one-19/">Dell demos multitouch on the Studio One 19</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 08 Apr 2009 13:37:00 EST. <span style="font-style: italic;">PC Authority</span> is first from the gate with its unboxing of <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/12/dells-multi-touch-studio-one-19-pc/">Dell's Studio One 19</a> all-in-one desktop. Funny how white, the hottest color for consumer electronics back in the early naughts has been cheapened by the netbook commodity. Fortunately, the Studio One 19 ships in multiple colors. And after seeing the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/16/dell-adamo-to-arrive-tomorrow-1-999/">immaculate Adamo packaging</a>, we'll just assume that this pre-production Dell was wrapped in pre-production packaging as well. We hope so anyway. See our favorite picture after the break -- the rest lie beyond the read link.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/19/dell-studio-one-19-unboxed-found-less-attractive-than-facebook/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Dell Studio One 19 unboxed, found less attractive than Facebook photo</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/desktops/" rel="tag">Desktops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/19/dell-studio-one-19-unboxed-found-less-attractive-than-facebook/">Dell Studio One 19 unboxed, found less attractive than Facebook photo</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 19 Mar 2009 05:21:00 EST. Well, well. Japan just scored an exclusive on this new multi-touch Studio One 19 PC from Dell. The All-in-One "entertainment PC" comes in a variety of colors to match your kitchen decor with specs that max-out on options such as a Core 2 Quad processor, 4GB of memory, 750GB hard disk, 6x USB, integrated 1.3 megapixel webcam, and NVIDIA GeForce 9400 graphics, and Blu-ray player. The 18.5 inch display features a 1,366 x 768 aspect ratio with touch or non-touch glass panels -- capacitive or resistive... that's the question. Prices start at about &yen;149,800 which translates to a tax inclusive price of about $1,538 of the green stuff. Hey Dell, how about a shot from the side so we can measure the chub index?<br /><br /><strong>Update</strong>: Helloooo <span style="text-decoration: line-through;">chubby</span> sexy! Profile and top-down pictures found (thanks LionelatDell!) and dropped in after the break and into the gallery. Who knew that the display was actually offset-forward from the main slab? Nice.
