It was only two weeks ago when the ASUS T91MT -- the first-ever <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/windows7">Windows 7</a> convertible netbook -- <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/10/19/asus-eee-pc-t91mt-multitouch-tablet-listed-on-amazon-de-for-octo/">dropped by Amazon's German site</a>, and now the Eastern wind from Taiwan has finally reached US soil. Amazon.com buyers are offered pretty much the same configuration as their European counterpart: Intel Atom Z520, 8.9-inch multitouch swivel screen, 1GB RAM and Windows 7 Home Premium. While there's only one color option available for now, those who're cool with white will be spoiled with a 32GB SSD -- twice as much as the German version yet $200 cheaper. Any students out there going to pick one of these up for some improved note-taking before Christmas exams?<br />

Surprise! Another "new" computer coming out October 22nd alongside Windows 7, or at least rumored to be. This time it's the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/31/asus-eee-pc-roadmap-leaks-ion-boasting-netbooks-multitouch-t9/">previously-rumored</a> ASUS Eee PC T91MT, which has wound up as a listing on Amazon Germany. Same processor and 8.9-inch screen size as the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/T91/">T91</a>, but with a 160GB HDD instead of solid-state. Since it's Windows 7, there's now multitouch support, hence the "MT." The color options are black and white and it'll set you back about 506 euros ($754). Oh, you wanted US prices and release dates? Show a little more patience, why don't ya?<br />

If two slides leaked to the Eeeuser.com forum are to be believed, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ASUS/">ASUS</a> has some pretty interesting -- though not terrifically surprising -- netbooks on the horizon. The slides, which are apparently the company's roadmap for US products for the next two quarters, are chock full of refreshed product information. It looks like we're going to be seeing a brand new Eee PC, the 12-inch 1201N, which will bring NVIDIA's Ion platform to the line for the first time, with an Atom N270 CPU, 2GB RAM, a 250GB HDD, Bluetooth and 802.11n WiFi, running $499 for release in mid-October. Other than that, we can expect to see the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/23/asus-eee-pc-1005ha-hands-on-and-impressions-dont-post-or-you-wil/">1005HA-P</a> with the N280 processor and a 250GB HDD option running Windows 7 also arriving in October for $399, and the 1005HA-M with the N270 processor, a 250GB hard drive, and Windows 7 Starter Edition for $349. Finally, <em>Netbook News</em> is also reporting some new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/26/asus-eee-pc-1008ha-seashell-review/">1008HA </a>models not listed on the slides, as well as a multitouch, Windows 7-running T91 convertible tablet with a 32GB SSD priced at $549. There's no timeline mentioned for this one, but we'll keep our ears to the ground expectantly. The other slide is after the break; hit the read link if you want the full details on each model. <br /><br />[Via <a href="http://translate.google.de/translate?u=http://www.netbooknews.de/8863/asus-eee-pc-roadmap-veroeffentlicht-eee-pc-1201n-mit-nvidia-ion/&amp;sl=de&amp;tl=en&amp;hl=de&amp;ie=UTF-8">Netbook News</a>]</div><p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/31/asus-eee-pc-roadmap-leaks-ion-boasting-netbooks-multitouch-t9/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>ASUS' Eee PC roadmap leaks: Ion-boasting netbooks, multitouch T91 coming soon?</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/31/asus-eee-pc-roadmap-leaks-ion-boasting-netbooks-multitouch-t9/">ASUS' Eee PC roadmap leaks: Ion-boasting netbooks, multitouch T91 coming soon?</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 31 Aug 2009 10:16:00 EST. We've had our eye on ASUS' first full touchscreen tablet netbook, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/EeePCT91/">Eee PC T91</a>, since <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/20/video-sexy-eee-pc-touch-ui-demonstrated/">way back in January</a>, when the hardware was on display while the software had yet to appear. Since then, we've seen quite a lot of the T91, and now it's finally making its way onto the US retail market. We've spent the last few days giving it the once over, to see how this netbook -- which is a true departure for ASUS -- stacks up. Touchscreen tablets have been, in many ways, an oft-repeated mix of excitement and disappointment -- great ideas coupled with mediocre hardware, or nice-looking hardware coupled with bad implementation of the touchscreen. Has ASUS managed to sidestep these issues with its own tablet PC? Read on for our impressions.<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/15/asus-eee-pc-t91-review/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>ASUS Eee PC T91 review</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/07/15/asus-eee-pc-t91-review/">ASUS Eee PC T91 review</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Wed, 15 Jul 2009 09:14:00 EST. Like so many other dodgy things in life, ASUS' <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/T91">Eee PC T91</a> has been around the block a time or two. It wasn't until this week, however, that <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ASUS/">ASUS</a> finally came clean with a full specifications list for the swivel-screen netvertible. The 3G-equipped machine also packs a GPS module, Bluetooth, WiFi, an 8.9-inch LED-backlit touch panel, Intel's Atom Z520 CPU, Ethernet, a multicard reader, VGA output, twin USB 2.0 sockets and audio in / out ports. Sadly, there's still no definite US release date, but we suspect it can't be too far off now. In related news, this very machine was caught showcasing its elite multitouch skills with <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/Windows7/">Windows 7</a>, and if you're interested in seeing exactly how <em>that</em> went down, hop on past the break and mash play.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.asus.com/News.aspx?N_ID=Qoky5bTcRplYluPj">Read</a> - Official Eee PC T91 specifications<br /><a href="http://jkkmobile.blogspot.com/2009/06/asus-eee-pc-t91-with-multitouch-screen.html">Read</a> - T91 multitouch on Windows 7<p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/07/swiveling-asus-eee-pc-t91-does-multitouch-in-windows-7/" rel="bookmark">Continue reading <em>Swiveling ASUS Eee PC T91 does multitouch in Windows 7</em></a></p><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/tabletpcs/" rel="tag">Tablet PCs</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/06/07/swiveling-asus-eee-pc-t91-does-multitouch-in-windows-7/">Swiveling ASUS Eee PC T91 does multitouch in Windows 7</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sun, 07 Jun 2009 03:16:00 EST. Asus' <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/t91">Eee PC T91</a> has gotten its first review ahead of the reported <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/08/asus-eee-pc-t91-confirmed-for-late-may-or-early-june-release-in/">late May / early June</a> UK launch, and those cats at <em>TechRadar </em>seem quite smitten with the swivel-proficient touchscreen netbook. Battery life is said to be solid, though points are deducted for not being replaceable. Some issues with the resistive touchscreen also plagued the pre-production model, and while the company assures those kinks are being worked out, we can't help but worry they'll invariably still find their way into the finished product, and that glossy display will no doubt keep the memories of fingerprints long after you want it to. Despite these concerns, the review gives much love for the overall performance, video playback, build quality, and keyboard. At &pound;449 ($688), it ain't the cheapest option on the market, but we do appreciate Asus straying a bit from its tried and true netbook formula. Now how about news on a stateside release, eh?<br /><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/18/asus-eee-pc-t9-reviewed-in-the-uk-genuinely-moves-things-forwa/">Asus Eee PC T91 reviewed in the UK: "genuinely moves things forwards" for netbook market</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 18 May 2009 22:34:00 EST. We've seen plenty of the ASUS Eee PC T91 ever since its <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/06/eee-pc-t91-convertible-tablet-lives/">first appearance</a> back at CES in January, but now, according to <em>Electric Pig</em>, the swivel tableted, t<a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/asus-eee-pc-t91-and-t101h-touchscreen-tablet-hands-on/">ouchscreen-boasting Eee PC</a> has been confirmed by ASUS for a "late May or early June" release in the UK. Sadly, there's still no further word (beyond its April <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/04/asus-eee-pc-t91-arrives-at-the-fcc/">appearance at the FCC</a>) for a Stateside release, but the UK model is expected to retail for &pound;449 (about $685) when it launches there. We'll just have to be patient, we suppose.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/05/08/asus-eee-pc-t91-confirmed-for-late-may-or-early-june-release-in/">ASUS Eee PC T91 confirmed for late May or early June release in the UK</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Fri, 08 May 2009 19:08:00 EST. We spent come <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/03/hands-on-with-asus-galleria-of-eee-pcs-at-cebit/">quality time</a> with ASUS's <a href="http://engadget.com/tag/t91">Eee PC T91</a> netvertible in Germany at CeBIT, but those of you looking to handle one Stateside don't have long to wait -- it's just popped up in the FCC database, and we're sure Uncle Sam's engineer friends are busy scouring the SAR reports for all kinds of super-interesting technical data as we speak. Or they're just looking for pretty pictures like we are -- and sadly, they'll be disappointed, because all that's in the listing so far is this picture of the bottom. Another Saturday night ruined -- thanks a lot, FCC.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.liliputing.com/2009/04/asus-eee-pc-t91-convertible-tablet-hits-the-fcc-web-site.html">Lilliputing</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/tabletpcs/" rel="tag">Tablet PCs</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/04/04/asus-eee-pc-t91-arrives-at-the-fcc/">ASUS Eee PC T91 arrives at the FCC</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 04 Apr 2009 23:11:00 EST. <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/ASUS/">ASUS</a> broke out a stable of Eee PCs here in Germany, and we were on hand to have a look at all of the freshest ones. The pivoting, swiveling <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/23/asus-eee-pc-t91-sits-down-for-photo-shoot-early-critique/">T91</a> (or T91GO, as it were) courted us most heavily, though we will admit, even our pansy man hands felt like they were going to twist the swivel screen right off. The touchscreen functionality seemed decent enough, but the spongy display left a bit to be desired. The <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/20/asus-begins-shipping-ultra-longevous-eee-pc-1000he/">1000HE</a> was also on display with its purported 9.5 hours of battery life, as was the WWAN-packin' 1003HGO. See for yourself if our word ain't good enough.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-asus-galleria-of-eee-pcs-at-cebit/">Hands-on with ASUS' galleria of Eee PCs at CeBIT</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-asus-galleria-of-eee-pcs-at-cebit/#1397437"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/03/asus-eee-pcs-cebit1317_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-asus-galleria-of-eee-pcs-at-cebit/#1397442"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/03/asus-eee-pcs-cebit1318_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-asus-galleria-of-eee-pcs-at-cebit/#1397446"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/03/asus-eee-pcs-cebit1319_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-asus-galleria-of-eee-pcs-at-cebit/#1397448"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/03/asus-eee-pcs-cebit1320_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on-with-asus-galleria-of-eee-pcs-at-cebit/#1397450"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/03/asus-eee-pcs-cebit1321_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a>, <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/tabletpcs/" rel="tag">Tablet PCs</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/03/03/hands-on-with-asus-galleria-of-eee-pcs-at-cebit/">Hands-on with ASUS' galleria of Eee PCs at CeBIT</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 03 Mar 2009 03:58:00 EST. Much like the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/S101/">S101</a>, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/T91/">T91</a> isn't exactly "Eee PC" material. Sure, it's small and ASUS-branded, but design wise, it's a pretty bold departure. <em>bit-tech</em> was able to sit down and take an early look at the Eee PC T91 convertible tablet, and while the machine is still a few months out from release, it seems that you can curb your enthusiasm in the meanwhile. Critics found the touchpad to be a hair less awesome than those on other Eee PCs, the lack of multitouch to be a real bummer and the uncanny ability of the LCD to attract fingerprints as just plain annoying. Of course, their unit was still subject to alterations, so the crew isn't completely giving up hope that things won't improve by launch day. In fact, it noted that the inclusion of a DVB-T tuner, WWAN support and GPS functionality were very nice touches, but it still maintained that a standard <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/netbook/">netbook</a> would likely suit you best unless you're just head over heels for touching.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/tabletpcs/" rel="tag">Tablet PCs</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/23/asus-eee-pc-t91-sits-down-for-photo-shoot-early-critique/">ASUS Eee PC T91 sits down for photo shoot, early critique</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Mon, 23 Feb 2009 07:26:00 EST. Despite the fact that <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/category/lte/">LTE</a> looks to be the de facto standard for next-gen mobile data, ASUS has an unwavering <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/02/asus-prepping-wimax-usb-dongle-base-stations/">love affair</a> with <a href="http://www.engadgetmobile.com/category/wimax/">WiMAX</a>. In fact, we've already seen the company <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/10/asus-intros-wimax-equipped-m50vm-a1wm-15-4-incher/">introduce</a> a WiMAX-equipped laptop, and a <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/02/hands-on-with-atom-based-eee-pc-901/">WiMAX-enabled Eee PC</a> was <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/01/07/wimax-enabled-eee-pc-demoed-on-sprints-xohm-network/">demoed</a> way back at CES 2008. That said, the company is just now getting around to producing a new one for the adoring public, but for whatever reason, it's not even boasting about it. Tucked deep, deep within a release gloating about the Eee PC 1003HA and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/asus-eee-pc-t91-and-t101h-touchscreen-tablet-hands-on/">T91</a>'s ability to handle Windows 7 Beta is the promise of an Eee PC 1000HG. Said netbook will include both WiMAX and WiFi capabilities -- or, more specifically, IEEE 802.16e, WAVE2 and WiFi 802.11a/b/g/n support in the 2.4GHz~2.7GHz and 5.1GHz~5.8GHz bands. Of course, "future" could mean "we'll release this in late 2019," but we're banking on hearing more details sooner rather than later.<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/laptops/" rel="tag">Laptops</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/02/17/asus-announces-wimax-equipped-eee-pc-1000hg/">ASUS announces WiMAX-equipped Eee PC 1000HG</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Tue, 17 Feb 2009 13:33:00 EST. <div style="text-align: left;">Having trouble figuring out how a touchscreen Eee PC could fit into your life? No worries, ASUS just did all the heavy synaptic lifting for you with the release of a near 6-minute video showing its new Eee PC Touch UI. A <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/06/eee-pc-t91-convertible-tablet-lives/">UI teased at CES</a> and built specifically for ASUS' new touchcreen Eees. All in all it makes a pretty case for why you should pick up a new <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/asus-eee-pc-t91-and-t101h-touchscreen-tablet-hands-on/">Eee PC T91 or T101H</a> convertible tablet later this year. Let's just hope the processor can cope.<br /></div>

We got a quick look at ASUS's new Eee PC tablets today, the <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/06/eee-pc-t91-convertible-tablet-lives/">T91</a> and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/07/asus-eeepc-t101h-tablet-netbook-peeked-at-ces/">T101H</a>. The netbook heritage is unmistakable -- you only have to peep the 8.9-inch and 10-inch respective screen sizes and Atom processors -- but the two machines offer up full-on swivel tablet functionality, and look pretty good doing it. The chiclet keyboard on the T101H is a slight improvement over the standard Eee PC keyboard on the T91 -- which is a tad less firm, and with less room for distinct spacing. We found the hinge to be just alright, only rotating in a clockwise direction, and showing bit of "give." Otherwise it's pretty standard Eee, with ASUS's standard march toward sexy and the deepest stack of SKUs in the industry.<br /><div class="postgallery"><p><strong>Gallery: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-eee-pc-t91-and-t101h-touchscreen-tablet-hands-on/">ASUS Eee PC T91 and T101H touchscreen tablet hands-on</a></strong></p><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-eee-pc-t91-and-t101h-touchscreen-tablet-hands-on/#1270012"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/asus-t91-hands-001_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-eee-pc-t91-and-t101h-touchscreen-tablet-hands-on/#1270011"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/asus-t91-hands-002_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-eee-pc-t91-and-t101h-touchscreen-tablet-hands-on/#1270019"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/asus-t91-hands-003_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-eee-pc-t91-and-t101h-touchscreen-tablet-hands-on/#1270018"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/asus-t91-hands-004_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a><a href="http://www.engadget.com/photos/asus-eee-pc-t91-and-t101h-touchscreen-tablet-hands-on/#1270017"><img src="http://www.blogcdn.com/www.engadget.com/media/2009/01/asus-t91-hands-005_thumbnail.jpg" alt="" title="" /></a></div><p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/tabletpcs/" rel="tag">Tablet PCs</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/08/asus-eee-pc-t91-and-t101h-touchscreen-tablet-hands-on/">ASUS Eee PC T91 and T101H touchscreen tablet hands-on</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 08 Jan 2009 20:17:00 EST. It's been <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/21/asus-ceo-touchscreen-eee-pcs-and-windows-7-in-mid-2009-250-mo/">expected for months</a>, now Asus has announced its Eee PC T91 convertible tablet ripe for a fresh Windows 7 tossing. The 2-pound (right, two!), 1-inch thick tablet features an 8.9-inch LED backlit touch panel riding atop Intel's Z520 Atom processor. It also features a TV-tuner and <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/03/26/official-asus-8-9-inch-eee-pc-will-include-touchscreen-possibl/">built-in GPS</a>. No other details yet but it won't be long.<br /><br /><span style="font-weight: bold;">Update</span>: Added video after the break of this svelte convertible floating in air with its incredibly dreamy UI.
