Before we go any further, we'd like to inform this here <a href="http://www.engadget.com/tag/telson/">Telson UMPC</a> that if Pandora can finally <a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/03/pandora-pre-orders-extended-through-the-weekend/">get out</a> of the starting blocks, so can you. Today, we're looking at new evidence that Digital Cube (the handheld's new parent) could be inching ever closer to bringing this shockingly thick gaming handheld to market. Out of seemingly nowhere, images have emerged of the portable posing beside a USB 3D camera dongle (saywha?); additionally, we're told that it will pack a 1.2GHz VIA C7M CPU and feature a 4.3-inch display, 512MB of RAM, 30GB hard drive and Windows XP. Oh, and we're also informed that it'll be "released in October" in at least one section of the world, so we've got T-minus 27 days to see if that claim is legit.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.pocketables.net/2008/10/digital-cube-to.html">Pocketables</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/10/04/digital-cube-telson-umpc-reappears-could-break-into-reality-soo/">Digital Cube Telson UMPC reappears, could break into reality soon</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Sat, 04 Oct 2008 20:02:00 EST. We've seen companies <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/02/28/magnetic-and-nec-partner-to-deliver-3d-sans-glasses/">toss out</a> kit that <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2005/09/01/3d-hdtv-without-glasses/">claims</a> to showcase the third-dimension <a href="http://www.engadgethd.com/2008/01/04/mitsubishi-shows-off-3d-tv-technology-no-glasses-needed/">without requiring</a> a set of those face-consuming spectacles, but we're having an even harder time believing it would go over well (or at all) on a 'roided-up do-it-all handheld. Details are scarce on this one, but the Telson prototype / reference model device looks to be hung somewhere between the land of gaming handhelds and unadulterated UMPCs. Within, you'll find a VIA C7-M processor, 512MB of RAM, a 30/60GB hard drive and a 4.3-inch 800 x 480 resolution panel that's reportedly capable of displaying 3D imagery without special glasses. Can't say we're huge fans of the design / idea / etc., but we'll be keeping an eye out just in case this somehow makes it into production.<br /><br />[Via <a href="http://www.slashgear.com/telson-umpc-prototype-with-kdc-glasses-free-3d-0411897.php">SlashGear</a>]<p>Filed under: <a href="http://www.engadget.com/category/handhelds/" rel="tag">Handhelds</a></p><p style="padding:5px;background:#ddd;border:1px solid #ccc;clear:both;"><a href="http://www.engadget.com/2008/06/05/telson-umpc-prototype-does-3d-without-the-goggles/">Telson handheld does 3D gaming without the goggles</a> originally appeared on <a href="http://www.engadget.com">Engadget</a> on Thu, 05 Jun 2008 11:36:00 EST.
