Panasonic just released the deets about their new LCD lines. First, they have updated the bezel to match their plasma sets. Second, the HDMI port can utilize Panasonic's VIERA Link and if we are reading this translated page right, can accept 1080p. The LCD's panel is only 1366x768 but if the TV can actually accept 1080p, then it gives the owner much for flexibility with...lets say the PS3 or HD DVD/Blu-ray. (By the way, this is going to be a trend real soon) But back to the TV, Panasonic increased the viewing angle by 20% (178º) and also increased the contrast by 10%. The set has everything including that mentioned HDMI port, Japanese D4, composite, S-Video, digital optical and a random Ethernet connection. They are going to ship in Japan on September 1st with the 32-inch retailing for ¥250,000 (about $2,193) and its little brother, the 26-inch, for ¥210,000 (about $1,843). Still are awaiting US plans but you can be sure we will see these.
