The Bearded Ladies, developers of Landit Bandit, want to turn your ideas into a video game. In collaboration with SCEE, the studio has launched Gamocracy, a project that seeks to take the best user-submitted ideas for use in a new action-platforming game for PS3 and PSP. Over the course of eight weeks, there will be various challenges posed to the official PlayStation community. Currently, the developers are seeking concepts for the game's story and protagonist. Favorites selected by The Bearded Ladies will move on to a fan voting process. The best concept will end up in the final product. Gamocracy should be a fun experiment for enthusiasts that want an opportunity to see their ideas come to fruition. However, the developers do caution that serious game authors should probably opt out of this promotion. "Once you submit your ideas to our forum, they are then free to be used by us or The Bearded Ladies in ANY manner, including in any other games and without any obligation to you. So, if your idea is secret and you would like to keep it that way, we advise you NOT to post it."

PlayStation Plus subscribers growing weary of the DC Universe Online beta will be glad to read that a new trio of free games awaits them in the coming calendar year. PSN multiplayer game Lead & Gold: Gangs of the Wild West, PlayStation classic Spyro the Dragon, and PSN Mini Pipe Madness will unlock for free to all PS Plus members as of January 4, 2011. A handful of discounts will also become available, as well as a duo of featured themes and avatars. For those of you not yet enjoying December's PS Plus spoils, you've got until the aforementioned January date to snag 'em -- Dead Nation for $12 instead of $15? Yes, please! That said, at this point, you'll likely be the third or fourth person queuing up to speak with Superman in DCUO, but hopefully it'll be worth the wait.

The Bearded Ladies' debut PS3 game, Landit Bandit, makes its way to the North American PSN tomorrow for $9.99. While the game looks interesting – taking inspirations from titles like Crazy Taxi and Moonlander – the real story seems to be the development team itself. The team of five is comprised of "two programmers from the auto industry, a janitor, a liquor store salesman, [and] an expedition leader from Nepal" -- with no ladies or bearded people to be found.

Self-described as "bohemian independent developers," The Bearded Ladies are making their debut on the PlayStation Network later this month with Landit Bandit, a "casual-helicopter-adventure game." Players assume the role of Marley, on a quest to go back to The Big City in his incredibly fragile wooden helicopter. "It's Moonlander, in 3D," David Skarin simply summarizes. In addition to a single player campaign, there's two split screen modes: co-op and a competitive "duel" mode. As with many other PSN games, global leaderboards will rank your performance as well. Landit Bandit is scheduled to release in Europe first: June 23, for 12.99 Euros. North America can expect a July release. Check out a trailer after the break.
